I love how easily she talks about her parents and her career. She seems proud of herself and her life but without arrogance. Confident but relaxed. Love her and wish she was winning more awards!
Well, yes, to the world she was Ingrid Bergman, big MOVIE STAR. But to her daughter, Bergman was just "mom," a big deal yet not a big deal
This.... 🤙
I feel exactly the same way about Isabella. I have always loved her. Her love for her parents, she is obviously touched by the applause for her mother and father. They were brilliant artists and they have not been forgotten. She is such an interesting woman!
I suspect there might be one or two for this role in Conclave.
A classy actress that continues to age gracefully and respectfully --
She is simply delightful and so authentic
How refreshing
She's in that rare category of Hollywood royalty with Liza Minelli, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Carrie Fisher, but completely grounded and approachable. Absolutely gorgeous in her younger years....she still has that amazing smile and charm.
Isabelle has spoken about how upset she is that the younger generation do not know who her mother is. I am very proud to be a millennial who is a fan of Ingrid Bergman. Notorious is one of my all time favorite movies!
Clearly more people need to watch Casablanca...(and her other films of course, but Casablanca seems particularly relevant right now),
“Notorious” is my favorite Hitchcock BECAUSE of Bergman. The greatest “star” of the golden age!
What a lovely person inside and out. She’s wonderful.
Isabella Rossellini is the classic Italian aunt that all the nephews adore, in Italy we are very proud of her.
Always so wonderful on screen.
I think us Swedes are a little bit too. Ok, more so of her mom, but still…
As a non-Italian man who enjoyed listening to her, I suspect there is something universal about listening to this aunt!
@@cucinare-da-zeroYou're not even her species.
Half Italian.
She is simply the epitome of charming.
My heart is literally pounding! It's like we still have Ingrid!!! But, with a touch of Roberto Rosselini! Divine!!
*we'll always have Paris.*
Rossellini
Gracious is a word that comes to mind seeing Isabella. It's a quality one doesn't see much anymore in people it seems.
A high point in your career, Stephen. You should be most pleased to have such a person on your show.
She is so real. And therefore will always be beautiful. The best of Sweden and Italia. Sending my love from Pakistan
Ooooh such a great comment ❤️❤️❤️
Great interview. She seamlessly mentioned cool anecdotes of her famous parents and provided a taste of what it was like being Ingrid Bergman’s kid. Plus, getting masters degree in her 50’s! Bella Isabella!
What a lovely woman, so full of life and joie de vivre 🙂😊
I watched her growing up. When she tells you a story, I find myself just listening. I am glad she is still acting. God bless.
What a delightful human being. ❤
She and Tilda are each utterly enchanting humans and exqusite professionals while being extremely different in so many other ways, what a fun show this was!
Good Lord, I've had the biggest crush on Isabella Rossellini since I first saw her in my older sister's fashion magazines back in the 70's
She's 10 years older than me, but all through the years every time I've seen her in a movie or on television, my heart raced a little faster.
They say beauty ages with you. Man, it's so true. She is just as gorgeous now as I thought she was every decade I've seen her.
Guess at 62, I'm still crushing hard ❤
she was gorgeous in the movie 'death becomes her'...
I could listen to her voice all day.
How beautiful and elegant Isabella Rossellini is. Every time I see her, it's like we have Ingrid Bergman back again.
She is the embodiment of the word “delightful”
Yes. The other word that kept coming up for me was "innocence"....an unpretentious, unguardedness.....charming
@@xelamercedes I like "unpretentious" the best
Delightful, and curious and refreshing too.
And the embodiment of the word 'beautiful'. A beautiful presence inside and outside with no artifice-- a marvel of nature.
Omg she has her mother’s voice 😮 ( of course) but still shocks me 🥹. She has a beautiful smile as well 🙏🏻. 🇬🇧 xx
You should see her with blonde wig She is identical to her mom
Isabella is such a classic and talented actress in her own right. What an intelligent, beautiful, and humorous woman she is. Absolutely adore her. So cool she went back to school to study animals, that's very inspiring. Thanks for having her on. Please invite her back maybe bring some animals with her! :D
.Isabella Rossellini is charming, a wonderful actress & storyteller. In the 90’s, I was at Penn Station in NYC & couldn’t get a cab. I was annoyed that I had to take the subway. I couldn’t believe it, there was Isabella Rossellini with a friend waiting for the train. She was chatting & smiling talking to her friend. I was grumpy until I saw her.
I love how she feels she has to explain who her parents were! modest and humble.
I have loved and admired Isabella since I first saw her in a Lancome ad in Vogue in the ‘80’s. Gorgeous, artistic, smart, and just cool!
Very artistic smart and edgy!
What a delightful person and so full of joy ❤
How wonderful, Isabella has always been a charming and compelling interviewee, you can see her going way back and she is always like this. It’s lovely of her to explain to a younger audience who her parents were but rather sad that as time goes on, while their talent cannot dim, their name recognition fades.
Is there anything more infectious than her laugh and smile? She seems a lovely woman and always interesting to talk to.
What a lovely energy she has. I smile the entire time I am watching her!
A lovely and delightful interview...without a trace of narcissism and other Hollywood ills.......Thank You Ms.Isabella !! 😊😊
Omg, her voice & her laugh & even her accent sounds EXACTLY like her iconic mom’s.
Her face as well. Literally look at any picture of Ingrid Bergman in her older days and Isabella is the splitting image of her mother.
I know right?!! Everybody always says her voice and accent is so unique, they’ve never heard the likes of it before but common, she sounds EXACTLY like her mother.
And those eyes! She has the same smile & sparkle as her mother.
We of a certain age know what you are talking about and holy moly, she does sound EXACTLY like her mother. Not surprising, my son sounds exactly like me and I sound exactly like my father.
I was just about to say that. I can hear Ingrid Bergman in Isabella’s voice.
'My mum was Ingrid Bergman, a wonderful actress'. That's an extraordinary statement, at least to my mind. Not because her mum was Ingrid Bergman, but because she is still willing to give context: 'Ingrid Bergman, in case you don't know her, a wonderful actress'.
I noticed that, as if we dont know the name, Ingrid Bergman!! Wow, humble!
A 3 time academy award winner 😊
She shines with an inner light. Lovely.
Yes!!
Isabella displays a master class in charm, while also seeming as genuine as a newborn. Nothing like some of the roles I have enjoyed seeing her play.
Loved Isabella since first saw her in Cousins and she has never disappointed in any performance but mostly she seems such a lovely and interesting human. Thank you!
One of my favorite films.
Taking the words straight from my heart. Ty. One of the special people, not seen everyday.
Thank Creator for Colbert and others. I'll need them more than ever,in time to come. Islands of sanity in a sea of morons.
I recently saw that Cousins was on a streaming service and thought about rewatching it. Haven't seen it in decades. Wonder if it holds up.
@@Rachel-sv9pq I still enjoy watching it from time to time because it makes me laugh and cry with enough bittersweet quirkiness. ✨💕✌🏻⛵
I loved Cousins.
Her mothers biography is one of the best reads I've done. I think it was simply called "Ingrid", I read it 35 yrs ago and it's still stayed in my head as a brilliant example of a strong woman💜
Isabella , pleasantly upbeat.
OMgoodness, she is just so charming and beautiful, inside and out. She is one of the few children of two very famous parents who is just as amazing as they were. I'm 82 so I remember when she was born and followed her parents throughout their years. You could sit for hours and listen to her amazing stories and history. My guess for her appearance is, of course, to push the movie, but I also see it as a wake-up call to those Oscar voters out there. And this is one of those performances that cry out for an Oscar nod. She goes completely bare-faced, age and all, and yet she is still so very beautiful.
She's delightful. Down to earth, candid, lovely.
So beautiful. I love her smile!
What a completely lovely, delightful person! I've been aware of her as an actress for decades now, but, as wonderful as she is as an actress, I'm even more impressed that she views acting as just another occupation and went and pursued her dream of working with animals in her 50s. What an inspiration!
Isabella is very much her mother’s daughter ❤
Isabella... such grace, class, elegance. An icon of beauty and cinema.
If she had blond hair, she would be the exact replica of her mother.
She’s so beautiful and absolutely charming!
One of her best roles in Fearless playing the wife of Jeff Bridges. Love that film, such raw emotion in her performance.
Thanks for this wonderful conversation with this beautiful woman
She's so bubbly, i adore her❤
I could watch and listen to her forever. So classy and stylish in her appearance and mannerism 💖
LOVE HER SO ELEGANT
What a beautiful person Isabella Rossellini is !
We need more of these truly international, multi-cultural and intelligent people.
They indeed make the world the better place we are longing for and the world we need. No nationalism, no single-cultural mindset, no exaggerated pride of being an American, a Dutchman, an Italian, a Swedish person or anything else, no: respecting our background(s) but being open to the rest of our fellow world-citizens and accepting them without hesitation.
Ingrid Bergman's mother was German, her father Swedish & of course Isabella's father was Italian. So she is a real European mixture.
She is so wonderful! Such a beautiful combination of Sweden and Italy. I loved her in Fearless with Jeff Bridges and Rosie Perez. Cannot wait to see Conclave! ❤
Ty you for reminding me of that movie. One of my favorite roles for all involved. A beautiful, 2 hanky film.
I was a bit hesitant about a 'religious' movie, but its more about the relationships and politics of all the Cardinals. And Isabella rocks the nun role. A VERY good movie!
What a great interview and walk through cinema history. Mother Ingrid Bergman, father Roberto Rossellini, lives in Rome, and takes up farming. Extraordinary. Amazng night with iconic actors on Colbert. Congratulations.
I fell in love with this woman when she was in the movie "Death Becomes Her!" 😊❤
❤❤❤
so much of her mother can be seen in and through her. lovely.
She is so beautiful and I am so glad she hasn’t messed with her face @ surgery.
True film royalty. Beauty and grace all around.
She's so beautiful.
She's ageing wonderfully, so elegant and beautiful.
Even though I think Lancome sacked her for ageism.
They terminated her contract when she was in her late 30s or early 40s, replaced her with a much younger Inés Sastre, then hired her again in her mid or late 50s.
Yes,that's true but I think they engaged her back again
@@unowen-nh9ov
She is so authentic and interesting what a gem❤
She got the names of her parents in there and acknowledged them with a gracious smile, but also killing the need to bring them up later in the interview. I'm very impressed she got her masters - Good for her!!
Fascinating woman, fascinating life. I read her memoir from many years ago and I've loved her ever since.
She can be a bit Swedish, a bit Italian and a bit American but gesticulates as we all do in Italy. Wonderful and very funny woman.
She looks and sounds so much like her mother, it's haunting.
She is Devine , could listen to her all day!
E' un'attrice nata.....e pure simpatica il che non guasta. Brava! 👏
So good to see her. Very touching 😊
i was afraid of her watching from home too, lol. she played that role really well and very intimidating, great actress
This woman is the epitome of elegance. So graceful, real and charming.
The way she says "Thank You" is so gracious. Class act.
Confident, graceful, sweet... She has always been a favorite of mine.
Remember seeing her at a book signing of "Some of me" years ago...total class, total charm. Got a pic of her and me!
Nothing would make me happier than for Isabella to be the dark horse when the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress was announced.
Tilda Swinton and then Isabella Rossellini. Wonderful show tonight. ❤
I love this lady!
Love this woman ❤ looking forward to watching Conclave.
She even speaks like her. Wonderful mother. Bless you 🎉
She is such a lovely woman 🥰. Grace and class and modesty.
She does NOT need to remind THIS old lady who her mother (looooove) and her father were. Isabella is one very cool and interesting human ❤
Isabella rosselini is such a beautiful and kind soul ❤❤❤❤
Rossellini
Not only is she an ageless beauty and superb actress, she is also a genuinely good person.
Having 8 minutes of Isabella Rossellini is pure magic; I adore her mother and Cary Grant in Indiscreet and watch it often. Pure class passed down from her parents.
A great movie!
Isabella reminds me so much of Ingrid, her mother. If I close my eyes , she's right here with me. Beautiful women.❤😊
Totally. I thought I was back in time for a sec...
Thank you, Stephen, for interviewing Isabella. What an interesting and sweet woman!
Wonderful interview! She's lovely.
Such a lovely, charming and talented lady💕
She is so lovely ❤ and a wonderful actress!
Living Legend !!!
First time I've seen her!!! She's pretty cool!!! I like her!!!
She's so charming and beautiful!
She comes across so down to earth and genuinely lovely.
We love you, Isabella❤💜❤💜❤💜❤💜❤
Italian royalty with old world elegance. So beautiful.
What a lovely lady. Looks so much like her mom.
What a classy lady!
Also loved her in Napoleon & Immortal Beloved. Such presence, steals every scene she is in.
I love that lady!❤
It's always a little freaky hearing her because she has her mother's exact voice and accent. What a wonderful performance in this movie
Love her & her in this role! Amor Roma!
I am absolutely mesmerized by Isabella Rossellini ❤
What a beautiful lady! Charming, smiling... Can't wait to see Conclave :)
