    Hi
    Do you have to reset the new door handle or check the fuse if still not working?
    Thanks

    Hey sir what’s that bolt for that you took off the driver side door handle the one bolted to the door frame?

    But how did you remove the door panel?

  • @whatfreedom7

    Ah man thanks! I was sitting here fighting with one. What a terrible design. Usually most vehicles have one in the rear or one on the side but GM decided to be A holes and do both.

    Great video! Question on a 2016 Yukon rear handles with passive lock... Do I need to remove the inner door panel or is there enough slack to get the plug through the exterior hole? Thanks!

    • @CHASEPATTON
      @CHASEPATTON  3 роки тому

      If I remember correctly, there should be enough slack without having to remove the door panel but you'll find out for sure when you try to remove the handle lol

      @@skalnican Initially, the only reason I made this video was because it was easy to remove all the previous model door handles without removing the door panels. I was working on commission at the time so I wanted to give a heads up to techs who weren't aware so that they could ask for more labor time.

    Curious about that "new" screw on the front handle, at 2:50 on video. What is on the inside of the door skin that makes the long post necessary? Thanks for putting this up.

    • @CHASEPATTON
      @CHASEPATTON  6 років тому

      Steve Petersen I think the inner skeleton structure of the door handle is designed a bit differently than it has been in the past. The longer post is because of extra metal in that area. You'll get a better idea of it when you start to pull it apart. Good luck!

    What about that chrome ish cap that fell off into your hand? What if I just need to replace that.. does it clip in some how and do i have to remove everything to do it

    • @CHASEPATTON
      @CHASEPATTON  6 років тому

      I don't believe so. Try putting some pressure on that chrome-ish piece with your thumb and push it to the left. It should slide right off. Do the same thing to the actual handle but push to the right. Try it out. Good luck!

    My drivers side speaker grill is cracked how can I replace it. Does it come off?

  • @Cocora22
    @Cocora22 4 роки тому

    For doing it with the phone I thought it went well. Can you tell me if I can do that same replacement but instead of the no light handles I have on my 2018, can I just put in the ones that light up like you are installing? will it basically be plug in and the truck will recognize them?

    • @CHASEPATTON
      @CHASEPATTON  4 роки тому

      To be honest, I'm not totally sure. I'd imagine your no-LED handles still have to be plugged in but I am not sure if the plug will accommodate for the new handle. I'd search some Cadillac forums for that answer or maybe even the parts department can answer that question at your local Cadillac dealer.

      @@CHASEPATTON Thank you for your reply. I went ahead and bought the 4 handles. They just arrived today. I will be doing a little more research, but I'm hoping it will be as easy as plug them and they will work. They come on some of the Luxury and premium luxury as an option and I'm just guessing that since the handles are electronic that they will simply be recognized. If they work that easily I shall let you know.

      @@CHASEPATTON Ok OEM illuminated handles for cadillac escalde 2018 have been installed. Not as easy as one thinks or sees in your video. They are plug and play. Gray pigtails for the front, brown for the back. Only works like originally designed, when you unlock the truck remain on then turn off. They do not stay on while driving down the road with headlights on. If you know how to make that mod please please please show us how because there are tons of people who would love to do that. The side screw on the drivers door is a bear to get to, you must have a super duper magnet or some sort of real tacky material to use on the T20 because if you drop it it will be lost. I ended up paying my mechanic to finish the job. If you find them in the original color of your truck it'll save you from getting them painted. Just in case Yukon denali Iridium is the same as Cadillac Granite grey metallic, but search your paint code to be sure. I purchased mine on ebay, same color a my truck for a fraction of the cost. They are OEM and work perfectly.

      @@Cocora22 Unfortunately, I don't know enough about wiring, electronics, and all of that to know how to keep the handles on when the lights come on. From my own limited knowledge on the subject, I'd assume that would be taken care of through programming of the lighting and can-bus system. I'm not totally sure and I could definitely be 100% wrong. Electrical has never really been my expertise. As far as the handles and paint codes, GM uses the same paint codes on all their vehicles. Does not matter if it's a Cadillac, GMC, Chevy, etc. The names of the colors might change but the paint code itself will remain the same. For example, on my paint computer I will look up an Audi paint code and it's listed the same as Volkswagen. The same with Lexus paint codes on my paint computer will show the color as being from Toyota. There's a lot of websites out there that will help narrow down paint codes for you also. Alternatively, you can call the parts department at your local dealer, give them your VIN and they'll give you the paint code too.
      Thanks for the update on the handles too. Very cool to have that info in the back of my mind.

    I have a client that wants to swap out for “Chevy” handles. He will loose the led strip... what are the chances the plug is the same?

    • @CHASEPATTON
      @CHASEPATTON  6 років тому

      Carkrazy DipnDetail well I'd assume that if he's losing the LED strip then the plug could be different since the LEDs need power from somewhere. I've never swapped handles like that before. Good luck!

      @@principe986 I don't think that your doors would have the necessary wiring harness that plugs into the door handle. But then again, I could be totally wrong and you could always remove a door panel just to double check.
