Yes, 9 was perfect and I put off the update forever. Just updated and can barely handle a 1 min clip like wtf

Editing for years, with different progs, my conclusion is many things can be the reasons of crashes.
When editing shut down all progs you won't need. Defragment your hard disk regularly, be sure you have the latest graphical card drivers, don't run too many progrs on that specific computer you use for editing (progs bugs can interfere too), have the very last operating system, if you use stand-alone specific special effects progs prepare the results in advance or after the editing so that the least quantity of progs are used while doing the major editing. Be sure to have enough RAM.
Fortunately I do and work on every one of these. I even build a super PC that should be able to eat up video. I even film and edit in 1080p! I still render the footage and my timeline is always less than 45 minutes. And yet 6 hours worth of editing usually takes about 20 hours due to the crashes

Thank you! It's so nice to know we're not alone in our editing frustrations. Also, I sometimes upload my rough draft videos to Filmora, export them to 1280x720 in a WMV file, upload the 1280x720 video to a new project, do all my editing, then export the final product to the original 1920x1080 MP4 file. 😉 Creates extra work, but it's worth it, IMO.

Oh, okay. So, you are editing on the same Dell XPS like me. Tip: Buy a dock that has a fan to reduce the temperature of the laptop like what I am doing now :)).

I’m on an older iMac (late 2011 with SSD and 16 gigs ram), and I have no Preferences like yours; clicking Preferences gives me an Option Window with no Performance tab, No Proxies settings, etc. Do you have a suggestion?

I use filmora 9 and I've been working on my five hour footage and it has kept on crashing which is very frustrating for me to deal with. I've tried all setting in preferences, also rendered the entire footage couple of times, my all drivers are updated, it still is crashing and once had a bugsplat thing. My system is a low end one yes, doesn't meet the full requirements, but will reinstalling it solve the issue? Does that happen in some cases? And if I upgrade my graphics card, will this crashing problem go away?

I need help in figuring something out here. Filmora for me is able to highlight most videos by making the green render line appear above em when placed on the timeline,but this is not the same with most of my videos. This is hectic because due to most other videos not highlighted they always hang when i cut clips from them to place on my proper timeline. What is this and how do i fix it.

iim lost. in the beginning task manager was showing the app using around 30% after you did the changes in the app its still reading around 30%. where is the change youre noting?

My boxes for GPU acceleration are greyed out, thought I'm pretty sure I've enabled them before. Also, the box for my graphics card is greyed out. Can you tell me what the problem is?

Thank you! I am trying this now. The render is taking over one hour but I really hope it works!! I have over 350 video files in my timeline as I'm making a movie. Yesterday is was working ok, but then I closed it down and today it was very laggy .. I hope your fix method works for me.. I will let you know!
alright, i have a problem. basically i was working on a video and its likely due to how complex it is but now it wont render the video, like i try to import it but filmora goes black and everything glitches out

It still didn't fix it. The video preview freezes and every time it does that, I have to exit out and go back in but sometimes it's still frozen. It even freezes when I try to use chroma key. The playback is laggy. The laptop I use is Acer Aspire 5. Do you know how to fix this?
It took me 3 days to complete a 1 hour video. It finally exported to MP4 but now when I try to play the MP4 I am getting an error and cannot play the Mp4 which took 6 hours to upload....what gives when mp4 is corrupted stating the "Media is write protected?" How do I fix this?
Hi Jacky, Thank you. This is very helpful as always. Sorry I have question. I had filmora9 license and my computer broke down. So I have to reset everything in my old computer and now I got new computer. I tried to download back my filmora9 and not successful. It always took me to filmoraX which I have to buy and I don't want to do that because I am happy with filmora9. Do you know how I can download filmora9 and use my license again? Please help me.
Why do you have to pay when upgrading from Filmora9 to Filmora X? You only need to log into your account in Filmora X to get your license activated again. Just use the same license. Hope it helps!

I'm having the same problem. I'm barely running anything after a few min of editing the program freezes. I hope this helps. My pc is definitely equipped for this 8 cores cpu, 32gb ram, 2070 super, etc.
I bought filmora 1 time perpetual plan but when I go to export project it tells me to purchase filmora x for no watermark. But then filmora fails to refresh and acknowledge my purchase.

Do you happen to know what happened with the blue VERY HELPFUL lines we had in Filmora 9.6 to see alinements while moving the files in the timeline? I don´t have them now in Filmora x but I really loved them and I want them back. Do you know if there is some setting to get them in Filmora x as well? 😀
That is timeline snap. So, right click any where on the timeline, select enable timeline snap at the pop up menu.

Broder I imported media audio for beat detect at 1st I tried it show loading n loading then I delete again n again repeat, then sudenly it detected music was about 40 sec, n 2day I tried next audio which was 3 mnit not detecting it's still showing loading m waiting for about 40 mnits no respond still loading, bro help me out, any solution broder???
Sir.....I Have Dell G3 laptop (Nvdia 1050) , I edited total 1 Hour project from Images with all effects.After hitting the exports it taking more time. And in the Task manager CPU working with only 11℅ and GPU working with 0% for filmora... Why....

i just want to ask that when editing does filmora use GPU? I have a GTX 1050 (which is pretty good enough for Full HD editing) and a G4400T. The CPU is pretty weak so i just want filmora to *utilise* the GPU as i dont see any GPU usage while editing.
It depends on the effect that you use in your project. The more effect you add, the more work you create for your GPU. Also make sure that you enable the GPU in the Preferences.
@@ElearningSupporter i enabled all of the acceleration options in the settings and the GPU still sits at 1-2% while editing

ok i cant change gpu there is nothing it lags even on 1/8, i think the trouble is its too big a programme for a laptop.

@@dannygumato671 Possibly because of the GPU (graphic card unit). Have you tried to update the driver of your GPU? If yes, then you can try to reinstall the software to see if it works. I've never met this issue in Filmora, but got this issue in some other software before.
@@JackyNguyen06 My GPU is not an issue. Tried reinstalling the software so many times to no avail. Wondershare Support have given some patch which work at first but later it makes the program unresponsive. I got no issue either when using other editing software. Anyhow, thanks for your response.
