Very nice. Im original owner of a 1977. Ordered in late 76 delivered March 77. 80k miles on it today ..Recently evaluated as “showroom” by insurance. Youre gonna love this 76. So Much fun to drive. Mine is put in storage every fall for last 46 years. Remember the guy who said he used to have a classic Corvette and regretted selling it due to finance and family issues? Well Im the guy who kept his!! I would not sell mine for the world although Ive been approached and asked 100+ times. My ex wife wanted me to sell it for house down payment. Thats why shes my ex😊
"That's why she's my ex" I have a similar story only not with corvette, it was 76 Camaro, and it was my first car when I turned 16. I did end up selling the car 10 years after I got divorced but I didn't just sell it to anyone, I sold it to kid next door who pretty much grew up watching me wrench on it on weekends and I sold it to him because he loves the car just as much as I did, and he still has it 15 years later. He'll send me pictures of him and his kids with the car, I made a good choice for her.
Sweet Deal! Impressive start up with little fuss. Looking forward to updates on brakes and the bouncy ride noise? Doesn't seem like a biggie for having sat for a while. I had to smile at the Mustang tin behind you. I sold my Mustang to buy a C-4 vett So, my mustang stuff kinda got put away for my old GM stuff took its place. I would have gone for a C-3 but finding one locally was tuff. Rust was an issue on the ones I looked at. Having another vehicle as a daily help's due to snow or rainy days. Keeping it indoors like yours. Going from 400+ Hp to 245 was different but hey it's about enjoying the ride or smiles per mile. Hope yours are many!
I had a red '76, similar to the one you have. Came with the same L48, 155 hp 350, automatic and optional aluminum wheels. I was very surprised with the good ride and decent fuel economy when I wasn't poking the gas pedal too hard. I do like the aftermarket bubble taillight lens' and other tasteful add-ons. I hope you enjoy yours, too!
Very nice car! I just bought a 76 Vette myself. Wasn't what I was looking for, I was actually looking for a 76 Camaro but I git it for a good price, mine is Orange with Tan Interior, The only thing I don't like about it is the wheels, It has Factory steel wheels on it with the factory hub caps so I've order some Salt Flat Wheels American Racing Wheels and I'm gonna to put them on it when they get here, That's the only thing I don;t like about living here in Hawaii, the extra 2 weeks or so it takes to ship something from the mainland, I got mail in Iraq faster from home in Missouri then I do here in Hawaii, and no that's not just a funny haha, it's the truth, we were getting boxes from home in a week-10 days in Iraq, it takes 2 weeks minimum here.
Awesome video. I'm looking at buying 76 Corvette that's in need of a lot more TLC than your's. Do you suggest other people buy one if they get the chance? How much did you pay for yours? The one I'm looking at is 3500.00
Hi Jim! I got the car from a longtime friend who is practically family to me. I can tell you that it should be worth approximately $15,000 and I got it for alot less than that.
Thank you! Unfortunately it’s the L48 but it has a couple of upgrades in the Edelbrock intake and carb and all of the emissions stuff has been eliminated. Definitely a good running engine just needs more power.
WHY IS IT THAT ALL THE VETTS I LOOK AT ON UA-cam,,THE CAR DOEsnt RUN,LOOKS PRETTY AND 98% OF THE BUYERS DONT SAY HOW MUCH THEY PAID FOR THE PILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just sayin
Hello and that’s a good question. I’ll tell you a little about my car… you’re right, it does look pretty. if you watch the rest of the video, it does run perfectly well in the end and I can’t tell you how much I paid for the car because I got it relatively inexpensively from a very close friend who is like family to me. Hope this helps.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German. :-//
I guess just enjoy them while you can? In all honesty, I highly doubt that all internal combustion engine automobiles will actually be banned. It all looks good on paper but it would be way too much to enforce such changes. Every single industry across the world would be negatively affected.
@@greybirdgarage6268 Sadly even China dictates the end of use of all combustion cars worldwide. Chinas boss Darth Xi told our EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic or combustion based industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China.... China just rules the world...:-(((
Very nice buy! And your smile says a lot!!
Love the C3 Corvettes. The style to me is so appealing.
A 76 was my first of three (so far). I love all of my vettes.
Nice!!!!! I just bought mine a month ago!!! Working on it and getting ready for next summer!!!

I bought an '04 Corvette convertible, luv it, but would like an older one too
I was happy when it started up with so little effort and it's not even my car. Congrats on your acquisition sir.
I just got a 76 too. Same color but black inside and a 4 speed.

@mikeholland1031 You must have had the L82 (I think that was the designation for the more powerful 350 V8).
@@markchapmon8670 no, that's 220hp

Nice video
Good editing
Nice video! Do you know where to get that metal corvette fan shroud cover?
I’m not sure to be honest. It was already on the car. I’m sure you could get some dress up stuff like that from Eckler’s or Corvette Central online.

This is my first foray into the world of Chevrolet. Trust me, I have big things planned for the Corvette coming soon.

I’m gonna say if that occurs there will be an abundance of aftermarket electric conversion kits marketed for all the popular classics.
@@envelopo check out salvage to savage on UA-cam…they converted a Chevy C10 pickup to electric using Tesla motors and batteries. Very cool build.
