Once a ZF 8 starts shifting bad it’s smoked. Changing the fluid might buy it some time but the damage is done. I’ve torn down quite a few and I typically find internal seal failure or issues with the valves in the valve body.

I agree on the fluid. But disagree with the use of that flashlight.
Keep this dude away from the gun range if he's flagging us that bad with a damn flashlight 😂

After 10 years BMW wants nothing more to do with that car. For them the lifespan of the car and oil are the same.
You didn’t put in the correct fluid. The proper color is yellow not red. Liqui moly sells toptec 1800 for cheap if you don’t want lifeguard 8.
Yeah the fluid is not ZF BEXAUSE costumer couldn’t afford it, we have to cheaper option and it is working
@ I’m not sure where you live but toptec 1800 ATF is about $10 for 1 L. and the original ZF pan with filter is like $60. 🤷♂️
@ no is not, fluid is 27$ per quart here
@@Matthewjo22 wow
Of course the dealer tells you its lifetime fluid... they selling cars, not services really...
