CGB: I am going to prove how great Elspeth is by running almost as many copies of the Wanderer as I can in the Elspeth deck.

A lot of people were shitting on Elspeth when she was previewed and I never understood why. Sure, she's not Wandering Emperor, but being able to give things 2 +1/+1 counters and flying is nothing to sneeze at.

Yep. My view since preview season for MOM has been that she's a situational but solid 1-of to 2-of include in the right decks. It feels like a lot of people just want instant 4-of includes for the top of meta decks, and she _is_ a bit too slow for the current top of white meta archetypes like soldiers.
She shits a 1/1 lifelinker on a +1 and starts at 4 loyalty. People don't understand how powerful that is.
Same with the other Elspeth, which is pretty much a 3 for 1 every damn time her -2 hits anything that isn't a land.

I feel like I might jinx this if I say something... but I'm going to say it anyway.
Absolutely loving all of the Standard videos lately. So much variety, so much entertainment, so much fun... and in a Standard meta that is older than Methuselah and more stale than the bag of chips you left in the car last week. This is why you have been my favorite MTG UA-camr for 2+ years and it's not close. When you are excited and passionate about brewing in Standard, it's just an experience that can't be replicated -- even by you in other formats.
(Okay now I'm ready for like two weeks of nothing but Historic Brawl, LOL)
It's incredibly hard to navigate through that first game as a mono white deck against that kind of control, the only merit you have is to be a pw deck; a card type pure control can't really answer right now while it's on the board (sans fateful absence). Thanks for that amazing gameplay cgb!

Game 4 was beautiful
Deck looks nice. Honestly you could cut the Revelry and bring in another Eternal Wanderer. There are a lot of decks that are going to drown you with a crap load of creatures and Blast Zone is definitely too slow for that.
Game 6 was a study in patience.

Tried this with Rite of Oblivion and Graveyard Trespasser. Worked pretty well. Only 3 Elspeths etc.

I want to see a battle deck
Drop down to 3x on the Elspeths and the Emperor to slot in 3x Sunfall. That will provide more sweeper answers than just the 2x Eternal Wanderer.
But that would be less Elspeths!!!

Am I the only one who suspects the guy with the awkward Orzhov pile to actually be a mono red player? Their play pattern was so awkward and their choices weren't indicative of someone that actually understands the game very well. Nope, I think they just rushed the ladder with a downloaded mono-red deck and now they think they're a MTG god
