We all fear that knock at the door. And the time it takes us to get to know each other again. How just 9 months can change a person is the worse. I know that feeling of being emotional because I did not see my Seabee and the exhausting part of why I come home he was the same to me. I understand the hardships you have as a wife, I just wish more would see that it is not just person deployed who serves, but the people back home who serve the most. Much Honor to meet you Lesa. I have a son who is a Marine currently in active duty. Thank you to ALL of this military men who are or have served. Thank you for your love and time serving me and my country. It's unreal the time you spend away from your loved ones. Your selfless sacrifice is SO deeply appreciated. We live in a harsh world where sadly we need military. I appreciate you. It is tough and the moments reunited are so amazing. As a parent now and opposite to the single Marine coming back home, even though my son isnt deployed and I get to see him everyday I still hug him as if he were. I never want to take a moment for granted, ever. Semper Fidelis 🇺🇸

I have equal and great respect for all of the U.S. military personal and Veterans, but to me nothing looks more BAD ASS than a Marine in his dress blues! It used to not be like that ask some of the Vietnam vet about the home comings they got was being called baby killers or murders they was never told thank u for going and fighting they came home with PTSD with no help and we r just now helping them so when u see a Vietnam vet tell them thank u and all others who have served

The sad reality is there are many children that will never experience this surprise as daddy made the ultimate sacrifice. Why can we not all live in harmony....why the need to kill each other....this is the sh*t that pisses me off. Men and women making the ultimate sacrifice and their kids left picking up the pieces,....and for what? How are we any better now with these sacrifices in wars we should not even be having?

I am so glad that the American people have changed their attitude toward the military. I came home from Con Thien , South Vietnam in April of 1970. Not to many people spoke to me or welcomed me home. I was met at Houston Intercontinental airport by my sister and Dad. They were the only ones that spoke to me at the airport. Now it brings happy tears to my eyes to see how the views have changed toward the US fighting man. I see how they are met with open arms and loving hugs or joy and I'm happy they made it home too. It doesn't make me feel left out, because now when I go somewhere, a grocery store or anywhere, there's an outstretched hand there thanking me for my service, and wishing me well. I feel like I've received more welcome home's then I could have ever received that day. Thank you for that. And God Bless you, and God Bless America. CBenGallion.

I know it feels like to finally have ur loved one in ur arms after more then a half year... my fiancee is Canadian and im Dutch, 2 years 8 months together now and still always super happy to close her in my arms when we finally have holiday together. 1 month left till we together on holiday again 😊.

At the same time, 1/3rd of homeless men are veterans. People honour them, the government not so much.
I love being in a military family
