Nyjah does win a lot but he’s winning because he really is doing the biggest and best tricks, it’s not because he’s being favored by judges.

You can't get into skateboarding at age 20 and compete against kids who started at age 6 and have been doing pro competitions since age 13. It just can't be done in a sport this technical and skill based.
PHeMoX Most pros grew up skating but a lot of them did whatever they wanted when they skated as kids. Nyjah’s dad put him through what is pretty much the skating equivalent to circuit training while he was growing up which is why his tricks are so perfect every time. I guess what I mean is Nyjah trained more systematically than anyone else as a kid and his style reflects that.

You can’t think some energy drink & sponsors that don’t give back to the culture make you some legend when he ain’t the only guy sponsored but what’s he doing to help like Tony hawk. People Hated him & he became a major role in skateboarding history & actually giving back. Not spending money from sponsors on crappy exotic cars-Not acting like you don’t gotta give back to those who even support you. So when you become sponsored it’s deeper than money, the wins. Jamie Thomas had an absolute war at this spot, multiple trips out to it to put down an impossible to front side 50:50. Full respect to Nyjah for landing something meaningful and ultra technical and possibly breathing some new life into this spot.
I wish we could get a tournament format for best trick but I think every pro would be completely broken at the end. I enjoyed every single one of these. Thank you X-Games for holding it down.
