- The E36 ate through the EBC yellow brake pads at the last event. Instead of just replacing the pads I also upgraded the system to E46 brakes. Front calipers, rotors and pads for the 330i and rear setup from the 325i. Also installed the mishimoto aluminum rad and solid aluminum transmissions mounts.

Parts used:
E46 330i front calipers - kijiji find
E46 330i front pads - Hawk HP+ - ordered from 11tenths
EBC front slotted rotors Part- USR1002 (was also considering BSD1002)
E46 325i rear calipers - kijiji find
E46 325i rear pads - Hawk HP+ - ordered from 11tenths
OEM BMW rear rotors Part# 34216864056 (would have gone with EBC slotted but they were backorder. Those part numbers were USR933 or BSD933)

M10/M12 brake line Part# 34326755496 (this is what I needed but did not have in the video and installed at a later date)
Not only does he sell 'Bimmers', but fixes them too. Great content!
Your video and brake upgrade are very explanatory, what is the code for the front pad set for the E46 330i calipers? Thanks. 🤜⚔️🤛🏁🎱🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🎸👻
thank you. not sure what the code is for the pads.
The rear discs on the E46 325i, I don't need to change the rear brake shoes on the E36 for those on the E46 325i, do the discs on the E46 325 fit on the E36 shoes? Thanks. 🤜⚔️🤛🏁🎱🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🎸👻
yes. this was it was easy bolt up. if you get e46 330i rear disks then the e36 shoes don't work
You replaced the brake master cylinder with the M3 E361995, does the E36 brake fluid reservoir fit in the M3 master cylinder or do I have to change it too? Thanks. 🤜⚔️🤛🏁🎱🇧🇷🇧🇷🎸👻
so i did end up installing the M3 master cylinder because the line size was different. the reservoir was the same tho
when you performed the rear 325i caliper upgrade, did you have to do any special work to make the emergency brake work or does it work properly with the upgrade?
When you do E46 325i brake the E-brakes need no modification.
Can i do the e46 330 front breaks and m3 master cylinder only and just upgrade the rear to drilled and slotted e36 rotors or will i run into issues with the brake pedal??
to be honest i am not sure. I think that will change the brake bias from what i understand
Hello Denver, I just swapped 330i brakes onto the front of my e36 323is. I did indeed run into an issue. That issue being that after bleeding the fronts my pedal became even spongier than before when I ran standard e36 rotors and calipers. I've read a couple forums and some say you need a pressure bleeder, some say I need an m3 brake master cylinder. I noticed that you installed an m3 master cylinder but ran into issues with that. I was wondering if you were able to figure it out and which one you went with and from which store and also if you had any other tips I could use as my brake pedal goes so far down that I can no longer heel toe as well. Thank you!!
Hi Rahim,
Thanks for watching my video. I have yet to install the M3 brake master cylinder. I found out there was a oem brake line(M10/M12 brake line Part# 34326755496) i needed to order because of the different fitting sizing but my brake pedal feel did not that different tbh. I plan to install the M3 master cyl this summer. I just bought the cheapest one i found from ebay. Did you only do the front or the rears as well? I did both. maybe that could be a difference. Maybe try bleeding again to make sure no air bubbles. I just did a normal bleed with my gf in the drivers seat pumping.
@@DenverBMW Hello Denver, thank you for the response. I did indeed only do fronts but I am now going to be ordering e46 325i rear calipers and rotors. Are the brake lines that you ordered the ones that go to the master? Also when we bled the system we did the same thing where I was in drivers seat pumping and holding brakes down while a friend would bleed the system but the pedal would feel amazing with the car off but soon as we turned the car on it would be very spongy and mushy. I went for a drive and it brakes good but the engagement point is simply too far.
Yea that must be the master cylinder issue. it was just one brake line you need to go from the master cyl to the abs block
You need a bigger brake booster, preferably the e36 m3 one.
what kind of wheels are those? they're sick!
Style 66
Was the brake master for e46 or e36 m3?
E36
So the front brakes and rotors are from an e46 330i and the rear are from an e46 325i?
Yes! they bolt right on!
@@DenverBMW Thanks so much!
Oh cool, so the calipers and discs are from e46 325i or just discs? Also are e46 330 and 325 discs the same size?
Did the solid transmission mounts a lot of NVH?
NVH?
Noise Vibration Harshness
oh okay. so i did get a huge amount of NVH at first. I thought it was too much so i ordered REVshift transmission mounts. When installing i found that I actually had a snapped engine mount! so i ended up replacing the trans mounts at the same time to i did not have a true vibration test. Here is the video : ua-cam.com/video/1Wsah6Rj8EI/v-deo.html
What color Rev Shift mounts did you get?
