Hey Ed, Dima, VP Product from Loox. This video is awesome, I'm glad to have discovered it, thanks for taking the time to compile such an in-depth comparison 🔥.
Hey Dima! I'm glad you like it, thanks for your comment! Is there any way to get in touch with you or your marketing team regarding more videos? Edit: Just saw the email from your team 😅
Her Ed, I just discovered your channel and its GREAT. I struggle to find good videos/forums for addressing LCP issues, and especially for shopify. I think a lot of people would really appreciate a video about LCP issues, render blocking issues, defering java and css and other lighthouse scores. Hope to see something like this from you. Let me know what you think!
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I know, a video regarding speed is long overdue. I want my videos to be easy to follow, and this is a difficult topic to break down. Anyway, Shopify is currently rolling out a new performance scoring system that does not use lighthouse scores and instead favours Core Web Vitals. Watch me demo it in this video - ua-cam.com/video/lOoViP9Nbnk/v-deo.htmlsi=3PvxibME0arzZ6Bs&t=913 After this is fully rolled out I will do some focused and practical videos on speed. Until then I am working up to it with SEO and other related topics.
@@EdCodes Greatly appreciate the response! I totally understand how it's hard to find the right balance between important yet digestible topics. From my experience even trying to find straight forward answers on how to defer CSS and JS in shopify, and getting the respective links/locations for the scripts and style sheets is difficult. So anything to do with that, LCP, TTI, render blocking resources, etc etc would be so valuable. I look forward to the future video, thanks!
Hello, your video is very helpful for me. Please help us with a question.......... I have added size variants in my product, but I want to show different title or description to customer for each size. Like the image and price change to select someone. I am waiting for your reply.
Great question. Any customer-facing app will load extra data on the page, so yes they can slow down total page load time. But if built well, apps should not be a blocker for loading the main parts of your store. E.g. Loox only loads after the rest of the page has loaded. That's what the "Built for Shopify" badge on the app store is for. It indicates the app has put serious effort into improving its performance. There are many different metrics and measurement tools when it comes to page speed. The important ones are the Core Web Vitals. Does your store have the new Web Performance Dashboard yet? Announced at Shopify Editions and being rolled out currently. This will let you know if there is any important change in speed.
I've watched many reviews on the two. This is the best, but none of them address the one question I have and that is if you have a multi product store, are you going to end up with something like 'No reviews yet' showing on all of the products that don't yet have reviews?
Question: I just install the Loox app and if a customer order multiple product, do they just receive a email with one product in the review email? Because I want to make sure if they can review more than 1 product.
please make a video about metafields i want to integrate different specific code (javascript or json) on each product page the problem is that a json meta field type exists but in customize store I can't find block or section with structured data to apply meta json field can you help me which block or section should I choose in (customize theme) (product page) to modify the structured data in order to integrate javascript code in my product sheet? can you give me the answer in writing right away? PLEASE
Depends what you mean by directly. They both provide the correct data that Google needs, so yes they both help. But whether that will make your site rank higher? That's up to the algorithm.
you didnt show the most important thing for me in a review app like this that is, whether if you can import reviews, and then can you edit them ? I use loox and we can edit with excel, its a huge pain in the ass tho
You can import reviews in both apps, this is a basic feature I think. As for editing, yeah I didn't think of this. It's supposed to be genuine reviews, so both apps have an authenticity policy and restrict you somewhat. JudgeMe lets you change up to 30 characters. Loox it seems doesn't allow editing at all. Makes sense that it's a pain in the ass - it probably should be that way, otherwise people will eventually realize reviews are fake and lose trust in them.
I'm always worried people will think this. Affiliate marketing is a big part of a UA-cam business, but I always feel guilty about doing it, even though I genuinely like the product. In this case, yes it is an opinionated comparison, but that's because I liked Loox more. I don't think there is anything unfair about that because this channel is all about my opinions, my perspective. It's not a scientific study. I wouldn't recommend a product I didn't actually like, just for an affiliate sale. That's where it gets unethical.
Ehm....loox is pretty unscrupolous I would say. I went on your link to install it, and before installation, the Beginner price was 9.99, after installation it went up to 14,99. Not so ethical I would say, to not mention this kind of "twist", Ed...
Maybe ask Loox support about it then. I'm just seeing 9.99 on their pricing page and that's what I'm showing you. It's a bit of a jump to say I'm doing something unethical.

I love seeing content from you man👍
Thanks!
Thank you! I was just about to switch from Loox to JudgeMe but your review changed my mind.

A video about LCP on shopify will be very helpful.

I added loox to my store. It seems it affects the loading speed. What is your experience as far as site performance?

Is is possible to export theme with custom meta field and upload to another shopify account?

If you decide to use Loox, get an extended 30-day trial using my link - loox.io/app/edcodes
I laughed when your demo site sells a weight vest. Lol
please make a video about metafields

Thanks for sharing this review
Great information!!
Does either help with Google search results directly?
Depends what you mean by directly. They both provide the correct data that Google needs, so yes they both help. But whether that will make your site rank higher? That's up to the algorithm.
If i've used Judgeme for a while and gain reviews there, can i import them to LOOX if i decide to swap over or will i have to start again?
You can import your reviews to Loox
you didnt show the most important thing for me in a review app like this that is, whether if you can import reviews, and then can you edit them ? I use loox and we can edit with excel, its a huge pain in the ass tho

Awesome, ty!
This is a biased ad for Loox and not a fair comparison, so you can sell your affiliate link.
I'm always worried people will think this. Affiliate marketing is a big part of a UA-cam business, but I always feel guilty about doing it, even though I genuinely like the product.

@@EdCodes don't worry man, 5% of people will always hate even if you were Mother Teresa. I enjoyed the review and it helped me make a decision :)
Yeah I felt the same when I saw the affiliate link as the top comment.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Why would it go up to 14,99?
Maybe that's showing in your currency?
Nope. Still USD currency.
I do have the screenshots but Utube does not allow me to upload them in comments. @@EdCodes

Oh, it's right there in the pricing page. "+$5 for Loox Referrals" - so you must have accidentally signed up for loox referrals during signup.
Kudobuzz vs. JudgeMe please
Thank you for this great review
