Ive used tapes almost everyday for 25 years... all different brands too. They DO NOT act like this when you yank on them or they would not retract. Also they only stay stiff for 10-12 feet depending on angle and thickness of the tape. Great videos btw cap!
Capn D is the MAN. He was so cool to show that film student’s stuff on his own channel while pretending he’s feeling threatened by his expertise. Very very thoughtful and shows he’s not a douche. I just discovered this channel and I’m already fully on board. I was a projectionist and digital media tech for 7 years so this stuff is supremely fascinating to me. This much effort should be put into everything on television and sadly it’s not. This man deserves an AWARD...lollllll
Its a common editing practice to use a command like "wiggle" in after effects to "add life" to a static, or 'locked off', shot. Used subtly it can make a shot a little more visually interesting, used too much and you get a ridiculous motion sickness inducing transformers-esque mess. Of course, its also a powerful tool to hide VFX ;)

Damn this dudes gotta be one of the most passionate and hard working at what he does. I understand very little of the complexity and yet i can still grasp just how labor intensive his vids must be.
I discovered you on the H3 Podcast and I'm super happy that I did!
heard hes got aids now lololol lmao
Wow, the ad looks really sloppy when it’s broken down.
But I'm still having fun seeing all the cuts for some reason.
I have never heard of this channel before today. It is now my favourite channel ever... Awesome video, thanks!
18 months and a few watches, and I just noticed the little flash of Pepé Le Pew as the ad agency's description of "charming and relentless" is highlighted. It's these little things that have me coming back to rewatch. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
Thanks, Captain, for all you do!
thank ethan klein for making me aware of your work. he was right, its next level. and its not just the special fx work you do, its the detail in the makeup, the thought thats gone into the scripting, and its well directed and edited too as it all comes together quite smoothly. well done, keep it up! you know what i love more than being deceived by stupid viral pseudo ads? KNOWLEDGE!!

He exposes fake people... but in a weird and funny way. I love it, and it's hilarious.
He one ups them in quality.

This is an ad, it's fake in the same way a TV show is fake
It’s a commercial not your friends who betrayed you or whatever

Wow! I just found out about Captain Disillusion. The amount of effort that goes into creating a video (the research, the debunking, the edits to explain things, the contents such as script to make it interesting). It's amazing how this gets done. I can't imagine the work and time required to actually make one video like this. This channel sure needs to have more subs and love. Keep it up sir.
Each of your videos is a piece of art, mastered to perfection! Huge fan... This perfection is what everyone should strive for...
Ive used tapes almost everyday for 25 years... all different brands too. They DO NOT act like this when you yank on them or they would not retract. Also they only stay stiff for 10-12 feet depending on angle and thickness of the tape. Great videos btw cap!
Who else is on a Captain Disillusion marathon?

I don't think I have enjoyed any videos in UA-cam as much as yours in a long time. Keep up the good work. Greetings and best wishes from India. ✌️

I was born and raised in Tulsa. Cousin is a chiropractor, one that did this to her newborn. #GlitchInMatrix

Chiropractors are fraudsters... real doctors cure things. Chiro keeps you coming back to score that sweet sweet crack. Were it not for feeling better after having a professional knuckle popper go to work on you, this fraud would have already died
This was uploaded at the exact time that I couldn't find something to watch. Thanks!
I'm impressed, how well you composited yourself into the scene!
And your screen play!
Amazing.
This was the first Captain Disillusion video I ever watched, and since then, I’ve watched every single video on this channel.
so good
Why don't you advertise his channel on your channel? 4 million freaking subscribers! You could really help him get the recognisation he needs

Zewiq Watch H3H3's video, it'll properly debunk it.
Or kavos's video
That was fascinating, thank you. Love watching those details exposed so clearly. It's very cathartic somehow. Also I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the political situation of gendered races, and how much religions have appropriated it.

Here I am 5 years later. New video of Cap is out, binge rewatch the whole channel must be performed. Peace.
Johnson sounds like he could be a good special effects artist!
One of your best, Captain. A great match of your skills and subject matter.
I just discovered your videos 30 minutes ago. This is my second video. I am utterly speechless at the investigative nature and the editing of the video. I feel a binge marathon coming!
Captain you always talk about the sloppy edits people make that you find. I don't mean for this to sound like a challenge but you should make your own fake video and see if the community can figure out what you did.
Captain D secretly makes every viral effects video on the internet, but does so sloppily, so he can later debunk them. It's the perfect crime.
Quick D: the lost episode is what you're looking for
He already did this with the ghost episode, and no one could figure it out until he revealed it himself in "The Invisible Cut".
I yelled for joy when I got the notification!
