Agree about Mirage, whether you hate it or love it, it is hard to say it is not the best 'designed' map in Counter-Strike. Without a lot of updates, its remained fresh in every iteration of the meta and version of the game. Even if you think Nuke is now the best map, you have to admit it took some rework to get it right.
As for Overpass, I think it would fix a lot of the map if they reduced the time to rotate from outside B back to playground w/out having access to connector And I find Train boring because it has very limited strategy early round that comes down to a series of 1 v 1 duels to open a choke point to allow entry to a bombsite. It is almost like the map plays better when the CTs are down 4v5.

I think far too many people look at the retaking aspect of inferno and rank it lowly solely on that aspect alone. Every other part of that map is top tier counter strike and always has been since 1.6. It's ok for not every map to be balanced in all aspects. If all the maps were balanced in all aspects, it would be a boring and stale game overall with little variation. inferno is S tier, goated map

But inferno cs2 has jank that its trying to do so its a worst map. Here is what I would say: S: Cache, Nuke, Dust 2 (old csgo version) * Cache is good especially the original one, just gets boring since it’s super balanced. Same with og Dust 2 in csgo. Nuke is good, but CT eco rn makes it worst and the B ramp shadow. A: Overpass, Mirage, Anubis, Inferno 2.0 (csgo), * Overpass is solid but needs to make the Grass walls solid by fountain/T ramp so CTs cant molly it. Then make Conn door unbreakable like cache squeaky. Then make the tunnels on B/Monster square shape so you don’t get angled by the circle/tube shape. * Mirage is good but needs a B apps rework. So it makes the map less CT sided. B already has 4 pillars on site, arch, window and bench to hide. Apps/van is too CT sided, too easy to solo this site. * Anubis is good but CT eco makes this map really swingy. Hard to make comebacks as a CT. * Inferno was good in csgo except for on retakes, especially on A. B: Train 2.0, Ancient, Cbbl (2017) * Train is good but solo B player on CT side is too easy. They should remove the ladder on white train on the CT side, same with blue/olof train. Then add a box to lower b / sidewalk to protect Ts running out. Then make Z not see into A main, awpers would have to go to bomb train to peek. * Ancient just needs bottom mid to be bigger, then A main shadow removed and the temple to A main angle removed. It will make A less CT sided and better for retake. * Cbbl was perfect on B but A was a shitshow but Valve made it worst. It would work well now that Awping has been kinda nerfed in a few ways with tagging, ct eco, 5 bullets etc. C: Vertigo, Inferno, Dust 2 (CS2 for all) * The new Vertigo A updates made it worst. they should have just added only the new cat and keep the CT A connector. * Inferno cs2 is just ass * Dust 2 is basically the 1.6 layout now. Cts going to lower and cat is too free. The flipped doors on B is better for retake but allows for CTs to hold from offsite. New cat box is dumb. I prefer the Source/GO layout.
Placing cache in the same category with ancient is nuts, cache S tier or A+. Maybe not that tier for pro play but as a pug map it was the best, easiest map to solo carry. Calling Anubis claustrophobic to CT's & dropping it to C tier while not seeing the same issue in ancient for T side is quite hypocritical considering CT's can take 70% of the map in the first 8 seconds of the round.... Lol. Dane glazing the fk out of nuke what a surprise but I do agree, best map in the game. Dust 2 C tier is crazy. I think overpass just needed to block the CT's from mollying pit from toilets it just made it too CT sided and yes you can smoke but that already gives out the strong position for T early round. Going under trains? Hell no wtf the dark blue CT model in Source was almost invisible under there, but well, if they made the visibility under the trains good then sure, otherwise I'd fuckin' hate it.
@@mist5023 Definitely not, I loved cache and train back then, and I do now as well if I could play them -_- Cache was overwhelmingly highest win% in Faceit for me (around 60-65% 300+ games) and it was easily my favourite map, the simplicity, yet complexity of the map, fast rotations, etc. For me it felt similar to nuke but without a lower site and more T sided balance. edit: ps. I'm talking about the first version of cache, I really didn't enjoy what they did with the remake in terms of visuals, and also the mid window, but I still did enjoy new cache regardless, I hope the CS2 version is more like the first version of CSGO and maybe they can change it a bit to be even better, hopefully.

I agree with this list to some degree, I'd swap out D2 with Overpass, and drop train to B tier, this is mostly due to the fact that I don't play with a team.
I used to hate vertigo in csgo, somehow I learned to love the map, until the last update. Sadly it is too much to clear and smoke/ molly off towards elevator/ A site catwalk…
Current map pool is soooo boring, Nuke is the only standout map. Mirage is the second best but its overplayed af Good list, only thing I disagree is Overpass should be atleast A
