Oh boy, you two are such a hard working couple and have so much fun together 💞 Your plan to make a sanctuary for those horses is so kind, you are so caring 🐴♥️🐎💕 It's a beautiful way to put you large property to good use, how selfless♥️ Raven♥️
I am so happy that this lovely property is in the hands of down to earth, appreciative people as yourselves. It is a joy to watch you lovingly tidy up and restore it. And God bless you for thinking of retired ponies. You are privileged to have the opportunity to help these lovely creatures in their sunset years, it's understood; but, not everyone who can do this WOULD think of them! I think you are such nice people. Thank you for sharing your projects with us. 🌻
Oh, Marie Anne! I do love and appreciate your commitment to restoring your beautiful farm and the fact that you also have definite standards when it comes to fashion, no matter where you are or what you are doing. I too, have a historic ranch (not as old as yours, but from 1885) way up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. My husband and I have been restoring and building and redoing the 2 miles of fence. I can relate! I prefer long denim skirts a tidy blouse and cowboy boots around the ranch. I wear riding skirts as well. Yes! Rescuing horses is such a good thing. Sometimes it can be heartbreaking when things don’t turn out. (I had a sweet rescued mule who just wasn’t sound, and even with lots of love and attention passed away). Anyway, one way I can help is to be a member of the Livestock Conservancy here in the USA. Have you heard of the extreme rarity of the historic French donkey nearly extinct called the Poitou donkey? There are several organizations in France to protect the breed from extinction. The Parc Naturel Regional du Maria’s Poitevin has made the conservation of the Poitou donkey part of its mission to protect the domestic heritage as well as the wild environment. Anyway, thought you might be interested! Bear Hugs from Spirit Bear Ranch, DeLoss
I could listen to your voice all day. You and your husband are refreshing to watch and see the love you have for each other. Those horses will love you for saving them. What an angel you are. Beautiful, elegant, wonderful Marie-Anne have a blessed weekend. Look forward to seeing your videos.
I love the stone corbels supporting the roof beams. A good workout for you, and soon a nice home for your horses. I’m so happy you’re getting rescue horses!
Marie-Anne, you are a force of nature. No task fazes you, or Carl. Your stables are beautiful. It was exciting to see that marvellous floor emerge from under the debris. A couple of horses are about to be very fortunate. Merci beaucoup. :)
Beautiful floors but without putting down rubber mats, very hard on horses legs (especially older horses). Mats also help keep the urine smell down and make your bedding last longer. They are not cheap but nothing with horses is - they help keep costs down in the long run. You have a lovely place and the two of you are workaholics. So glad you’re considering “rescue” horses who are often used and then discarded. They would be lucky to have you as their owners! ❤️
Wow Marianne! Even cleaning the stables you look SO CHIQUE! You and Carl are SO amusing and amazing together! Looking forward to seeing the new residents of your clean stables. The stone floor of the stables is really wonderful! (Once upon a time, when people had taste and skill and used natural elements}. Bon courage! Sending you my love from Athens.
You are such an inspiration in so many different ways. ❤️ I love your new home and all the character. You two just keep going no matter the task. Bless your heart for wanting to rescue some horses. Please keep us posted on that. Can't wait to see what you have for us next. Thank you for letting us into your amazing lives.
Marianne you did an amazing job of mucking out the stables. Well done. It’s nice to know that someone as Chic as yourself is willing to get a bit of dirt on their hands and get the job done. 👏👍❤️
I watch both your channels regularly and greatly admire you. I think your stables are lovely. Will you put down rubber stallmats? They're very easy to clean. I loved it in my two stall stable. I can't wait to see who you adopt. My last two have been rescues. You will have an unbelievable bond once they trust you. I'm sure your an excellent horse woman and know to go slow and be safe. I look forward to more looks at your lovely home and pets. For your safety from all the overhead dirt and cobwebs, I recommend a mask and eye protection. Enjoy all the hard work. It will be worth it once your new friends are home.❤
Oh very well done. Our cottage in the English Countryside was built from stone and on solid earth. It was built in 1810. However, finding that the stone floor was disintegrating ;my husband and myself lifted out the floor of our sitting room when we were renovating and sold the flagstones that were still alright’ish. We then dug down about 30 inches deep and removed the soil. The room is 20’ by 12’. Then we lined the cavity with damp proofing. Put in a semi dry layer of sand and cement and allowed it to set, followed by two layers of 6 inch jablite, which is a thermal insulation for floors, then it was brought up to floor level with concrete, and finally covered with ceramic tiles. We were tempted to put in under floor heating, but back in 2001, it wasn’t as good as it is now. Keep up the good work, #Carl_and_Marie_Ann_Lecoeur 😀👏👏💐
My father used to be a wonderful gardener and would have paid a pretty price for that horse manure! His vegetable garden was magnificent. I so admire that you will be rescuing horses. Anyone who rescues animals must have a great soul. Can't wait to see your garden, the entry way and the stables, once completed. You have taken on a lot and I am curious to see the end results. You certainly inspire me to get moving, Marie-Anne!
Marie-Anne, no wonder you have such a great figure!! That is wonderful about rescuing some horses & what beautiful stables. The farm is bending to your indomitable will! Fun watching you & Carl, too!!
Marie-Anne, I feel guilty enjoying these videos. Here I am sitting back relaxing while you and Carl are furiously working (lol). But it's such a pleasure watching you restore this enchanting piece of property.
I can understand now why you are in such great shape! You work so hard, I am happy for you for wanting to rescue horses, they are such Nobel and beautiful creatures. Thank you for sharing your story!
Bonjour Marie-Anne, It is so wonderful that you are going to save horses! I cannot applaud you enough ❤ You have a big and kind heart. I like your channel for many reasons, and it is one of them. This is the best project ever! I am so happy that you can make your dreams come true, and thank you for sharing them with us. You are such a hard-working person, like your husband, and everything seems to progress so fast 🙂You are such an inspiration. I would love it if later you could give us a little tour of your kitchen or living-room, if it is not too private and you don't mind. Even if everything is not finished, I'm sure it's beautiful and inspiring!
Marie Anne, you and Carl are so cute together. I love this domestic side of you. Your farm is just amazing and your willingness to bring it back completely refreshing. I have always thought of you as so formal from your French chic videos. You and Carl exhibit such playfulness. It is so sweet to see how much you love each other.
Most beautiful stables. Bravo to you and your husband. You are very fortunate to have found such of a lovely grand house with stables and other out buildings and gardens.
So beautiful Marie-Anne! When I had horses, I found that shoveling manure was one of the most meditative experiences. But I never looked as chic as you while doing it, and I never found such a floor underneath. I can't wait to see horses in those incredible spaces.
What's new on your farm? Would love to see the renovations of the lovely and stately home, refurbishing of the out buildings and further sprucing of the grounds. You two are amazingly talented!
We have a joke in our house which goes "do you know how long it took us to get her to say manure" they were referring to me! Love the idea of seeing rescue horses with you.
How wonderful! I so much enjoy when Carl makes an appearance, as well. This will be exciting, as I am a horse person, as well. I am looking forward to meeting your new four-legged beauties when they arrive!
I was glad to be able to watch another video this week. I missed you last week. You two are so fun to watch. How exciting for you to be able to have horses on your property. I always horses grazing in a field such an idyllic scene. They are wonderful creatures. Alot of work preparing your stables for them, and I knew you wouldn't have any issues with spiders coming out of those massive webs. They knew you were coming in with a broom and they all vacated to the neighbor's barn. Haha. Love watching you develop your beautiful property! 😃👋🇨🇦 ....and if I was working that hard, I would be sweating "like a pig" as we sometimes say!😂🤣
Well, that was a bit of hard work! The stables look amazing now. And you and your husband are such a nice couple. So heartwarming to watch you working and talking together!
That is some hard, dusty work…..but your reward is the beautiful stone floor……..and the horses. The music is fun …..always reminds me of the movie Chocolat.
Hairy spiders....hahahahaaa! Nightmare. Fighting against OEGHH hahaha! Real country living. Absolutely love you looking quite boyish for a french chique lady ! What a wonderful stone floor. You could easily make holiday homes out of these stables. Well done, Marie- Anne!
Its was hardwork but I am sure you and Carl enjoy it to see the end results. Good on you Marie-anne to get horses that you still can enjoy and not to but "down". Good week😊🐎🐕

Oh how exciting! You are working so hard! I think it is wonderful that you will be rescuing horses, can’t wait to see them 🥰🥰🥰. Time for a nice hot bath now 😉.
Great looking stalls! It’s so awesome you will be getting your horses from a rescue❤️The barn I help out at and ride at here in Canada has these large rubber mats that cover the stall floors, and the bedding (wood shavings are used) is placed over top. It helps make mucking the stalks easier. I can’t wait to meet your horses, Marie-Anne! I love your videos (fashion and farm!)so much😍
My husband just bought a dairy farm and is going through the same. What works, what doesn’t and what more is needed?. My new theme song is “Green Acres”. It’s wonderful to see the pleasure taken in a labour of love like this. You will make a excellent horse mother when the time comes. Well done to you both.
Brava Marianne! Maybe Carl can find a pro to lift these floors to reset in your house and pour simple concrete in the stables? You already have the beautiful materials!
Bravo! That’s the way to clean stables! I’m enjoying following your journey & look forward to watching the lucky horses that are saved by you, move into their new home. ❤️
That was a lot of work! It’s beautiful tho. All I could think was, you must have been sore the next day. Love seeing each new project. You are quite the visionary.

I love to watch and rewatch all of the old “All Creatures Great and Small” from the 80’s. Your beautiful stable reminds me of those fabulous shows. I always have a James Herriot book on my bedside table.
What a challenging and sweet undertaking you are taking on! All the best.
