@@delightcheure8206 I haven’t had child yet, but honestly the pain is so intense, pain I never felt before to the point I am leaning over on the side of my bed or on the floor rolling over. As time goes on, it’s becoming more bearable. But oh my... it’s so awful.
@@jasminmalfaro i can totally relate. I cant imagine labour being 10x what ill be feeling because that alone is excruciating, i dont think i could bear it
I am 69 years and can still remember the pain. It was about 40 years ago and I guess not as much was known about it then. My gynecologist put me on birth control pills and that helped some. At 50 I had a hysterectomy. It was then I found out just how bad it was. The doctor had to cut from my bellybutton to my hairline and across from leg to leg. I know he took my uterus (and other stuff I guess), thank heavens, and that took away the pain. I didn’t know a period hurting that bad wasn’t normal because I had nothing to compare it to. I hope that this is something the medical field will research and spend some time studying. No woman should have to go through this.
Thank you for sharing your experience Cindy - it must have been so hard to be dealing with that pain when there was even less information and awareness about endometriosis. I too hope that further research will lead to more treatment options and pain relief for women.
I’m 29, and the nausea is killing me today. I stayed up almost all night pooping and trying not to throw up. The cramps are insane. I literally feel like my hip is going to break in half and my vagina is going to fall out and drop to the ground. I know that’s graphic but that’s how I feel every month. I really do feel they’re like contractions even though I’ve never had children. I just “feel” as a woman in my spirit that it must be similar. I still sucked it up today the best I could cus I had appointments and errands to run. Now I’m home putting groceries away searching for videos I could listen to for comfort and reassurance that all of this will pass. Had an IUD inserted last year to soothe the discomforts and it didn’t help much. CBD and medical cannabis helps with some of the symptoms a little bit. Thanks so much for sharing this informative video.♥️
Hang in there - and I always just wish for others both in my life with endo and others that we connect with through the internet are able to find some decent concoction of pain management tools ranging from medication, clothing, heat sources, mindfulness, etc. Thank you for sharing part of what your experience of endo pain is like - it's never graphic, just a real representation of what actual endo pain feels like. I'm glad you've found some comfort in hearing another endo-warrior share their story - it really does help us not feel so alone in the struggle. I've actually never had an IUD even though many OB's have recommended so - but I have a few friends here in Vancouver who have endo (it's amazing I know more than 1 here!) and some had relief and some had zero relief. Endo is so sneaky - no way to really treat it or cure it once and for all! Sending you lots of well wishes :)
@@sparklesandbloom4874 Thank you for all your kind and encouraging words. It’s truly appreciated. I just had my IUD removed last week since it wasn’t helping me. I’m not sexually active and don’t plan on being so I’m trying to reset my body to cleanse it in the hopes my symptoms can ease up a little. Because I’ve gotten to the point where I wasn’t sure if the insane symptoms were the endo or side effects... It would definitely be great to find a support group because idk anybody personally that has it and experiences intense symptoms. I’m glad you have someone. It’ll be cool if someone would create like an Amino group because it can be set to private so that it can feel intimate. Idk if you’ve heard of the Amino app? It’s a free app you can create any kind of groups. I’d definitely join an Endo Amino group.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Yessss!! Thank you for mentioning this!! We really need to dispel this idea that we live with intense pain at the time of menstruation, because that may be the case for a lot of women, it may be how it starts, but it certainly isn't the truth. In my own experience of living with this disease, before my first surgery I was lucky when I got a break from the pain for a few hours at a time, every 3 or 4 days or so, I lived in agony every day of every month of every year. I've had 2 surgeries and it's back again, and it happens at any time of the month. It's so random, but not enough health professionals are talking about this.
Hearing you compare the pain of endo to labor changes my perspective a lot. I always had excruciating period cramps as a child, very similar to what you described. I'd sweat, thrash, scream, pray that I could either pass out or die as soon as possible so the pain would stop. It happened at school once, and they mistook my symptoms for appendicitis and sent me to the hospital, only for me to get sent home with some ibuprofen and a shrug. I should've known this wan't okay, but I was so young and had so many people telling me that I was just sensitive, that my debilitating period pain was the same as the "mild discomfort" everyone experiences, and I couldn't help but internalize that. Because I've believed I'm just sensitive to pain, I have ZERO desire to have biological children whatsoever. I can't imagine anything more terrifying than childbirth. But I suppose if you're right, and it's similar to the same pain I've gone through every month for years, maybe that's still an option for me to reconsider if/when the time comes. Thank you for sharing your experience❤️
Hey Jill I agree with you 100% in fact having my tube surgically removed was the reason why I discovered my endometriosis although I had suspected I always had it. Don't let other women shame you because you don't have children and don't want them I stand with you 100%.
You do what your heart tells you but don't be scared, you've been training for active labor your entire life pretty much lol!! I too was terrified that I was just "a puss" & would never be able to handle the pain of child birth & I personally found active labor to be a breeze for the most part!! Full disclaimer: now there IS still the actual birthing part of the whole ordeal & I ended up having to have an emergency C-section so to be fair I cannot speak on like crowning & vaginal birth 🤷🏼
I had felt a fraud until I had a child( via ivf) The contractions of Labour were just like my period pain. The pains I had been having every month since I was 12. I felt very cross that people had put my pain down. I knew that my 15 year old daughter also had endo when I found her drifting in and out of consciousness being sick , having diarrhoea, lying on the bathroom floor and screaming. I felt sick recognising her symptoms as the same of my own. Such a horrid pain.
I've always been rubbish at describing types of pain. Funny thing is, my brain has a way of making me forget the pain once it's subsided & I start to doubt myself, thinking I'm maybe being dramatic so I put off making another appt, then the next month rolls round & floors me all over again. The Doc suspects endo & I have ovarian cysts but I've only recently joined the dots that my "IBS" & lower back pain could actually be endo symptoms. Feel kinda validated but also helpless cause it's getting worse.
I feel kind of scared of myself, because after so many years, the pain everymonth makes me relive the feeling of "I have survived. I am not dead yet", and I get a kind of validity through that. I keep asking and telling myself "whether/it's that bad ? People write chronic but is it really that bad for you ?" My brother would feel like slapping me if he read this haha, since he has seen me month after month on the floor rolling, vomiting, crying and screaming, punching my own self so that I feel some other pain because I can't bear it and the ibu hasn't worked yet. I am so terrified to get a laparoscopy done to check if it actually is endo, and feel kind of lost as I see all these people online who have all gotten it done or have gone on BC - maybe I am just a soul who needs a push on the back. I am terrified ladies. How long must this go on.
@@shmoodlewoodle1030 Aww sweetheart 😔 I feel for you. Can you get any stronger painkillers? Ibu won't touch mine... What are your hesitations for surgery/BC if you're willing to share?
Honey, - they are all connected!! I went through exactly the same as you, and it really didn't help that colleagues and family would be telling me ''it wasn't/couldn't be that bad'' - this happens to so many of us. I had intense lower back pain and weakness in my legs for years before the symptoms got worse as the disease progressed, and even the first gynaecologist I saw told me the IBS-like symptoms were probably that and not endo. Nope, it was all endo, when I finally got my lap and got diagnosed. TRUST YOURSELF. I really hope you can get some help, xxx
@@shmoodlewoodle1030 VALIDATE YOURSELF RIGHT NOW!! Please. Please don't give up until you get some help. You have reminded me that I used to think about hurting myself just so I could feel something different. My heart goes out to you because I was there too. I pray you can get this sorted soon. xxx
Thank you so very much for describing your pain. I have stage 4, and have had two Laparoscopy surgeries, I haven’t had surgery in 5 years I need it again really bad. My pain is Exactly how you said it. I have two little boys and I always said before I had children that it was like a contraction and all the women who had babies out there laughed at me thinking I was being dramatic but it was 100% exact same feeling now that I know
wow thank you for that last part 😳 my friend who has had a baby kept telling me that theres no way my pain is as bad as labor (& i wont argue bc i’ve never even been pregnant!!) but i am so good w pain so the fact that i’ll even consider taking an ibuprofen is foreign to me. have had 3 knee surgeries, no pain meds the whole journey, can handle dental procedures bc i’d rather feel pain than being put to sleep but boy oh boy these symptoms (not just cramps but whole body aches).... i’ll take an iv drip of everything pls
Do you ever get very sharp sudden pain for a few seconds then it’s gone? I haven’t been diagnosed but I’m really starting to think I might have endometriosis. When I first got my period it was the absolute worst and I would be physically sick. For over 10 years I’ve just thought that was normal period pain and was always told I was healthy and everything is normal. But now I’m really starting to question my pain. Crying and not being able to move is not normal 🤪
I am currently working on getting an official diagnosis and I experience that kind of pain. You should see a doctor and don’t be afraid to see different doctors if they are dismissive
i have those exact stabbing sharp pains but its focused in my left ovary, i get basic cramps in that whole general area but only get stabbing pains in my left ovary before my period is severe, during its not as bad but also ovulation is very bad. i haven't been diganosed either, ive thought i had an ovary cyst but got 2 ultrasounds and they told me nothing is wrong i dont know what to do anymore. It comes in waves/flashes of sharp pains lasting 20-30 seconds then gone and back to mild cramp, when this happens it takes my breathe away, i feel light headed, and like i might puke
@@kendrahornsby4441 i had a copper IUD inserted, i removed it about a month ago and i have no more pain, i ended up having a cyst full of blood on my right ovary which is apprently what was causing thr pain
Same. I kind of realized something might be wrong when I'd puke, have bad diherra and had to miss work on the first day of the periods, while my sisters would be able to live their normal lives.
I got my period early at 11. Horrendous cramps that would bring me to the floor curled up into a ball. I got out on birth control around 14 for pain. I’m 33 now and off birth control and attempting to get pregnant with my husband. I was in the er on New Years they found cysts in my ovaries. Got my period 2 days ago and had to go to the Er again because I took oxycodone from the last visit and it wasn’t even touching the pain. I was curled up into a ball, almost throwing up, crying and moaning, dizzy. When I got to the Er I also was given 2 rounds of morphine, toradol, and dilaudid and finally was getting relief.I have a follow up appt Friday with my obgyn to talk about options. It pisses me off I’ve been dealing with this my whole life and I’m only being taken seriously about it now that I want to get pregnant with my husband. This world is so sexist. It’s disgusting.
It feels like something is trying to escape. What I would expect an infection in your body would feel like, like it’s infecting and making everything ache and cry and just trying to get out of your body. It always feels like that, some times are worse than others but that is always what I would describe the pain as. She is right that you get used to the pain as in it is familiar, because endometriosis is every day of the year.
Coming to this video makes me feel much better . I am not the only person in this world with this disease. I get pain 3 days before period then during period is also bad and then after period it last 3 days after. But it feels like burning really bad. Have nausea and My legs and knees hurt so badly. And I pee every 30 minutes. My brain and shoulders hurt very badly like if I had flu symptoms. And affects my sleep at night. I never had surgery but is because insurance purposes. Good luck to all of us getting rid of this nasty disease. We can do it, we strong woman.
Okay! I was totally nodding along as you described going through a contraction during labour as something that you can come out of and say hey, I’m okay now (and then obviously back into again.) But period pain is a constant debilitating pain, and there’s no relief time or break in between, it’s just constant which is why I find it so draining. It sucks the hope out of me that there’s an end to all of it or a benefit as with contractions during labour. Thank you for sharing!!
Such a legit point...at the end of labor, there is a sweet little human you've created and get to meet....the end of a period there is absolutely ZERO reward 😫
Thank you. Just had my 3rd emergency room visit due to this. It is such a miserable feeling. It takes me a week or so to get back to normal. This just started in my 40s. Oh and the migraines, omg.
The bloating the pain , the pressure in my rectum and stomach kills… nauseous and stabbing … my pain flares up sometimes between ovulation and menstruation

I always felt like someone was hacking away at me with an ice pick. Couldn’t sleep and can’t use underwear that applies pressure to my lower abdomen or around pelvic area. Pain went so high until I would pass out and that’s when I would take all the sleep I could get. So I can’t imagine child labor being any worse than that.
Amazing video: thank you for sharing parts of your journey many find hard to do. I’m reading all of your comments now and couldn’t help but jump in myself. I was told I had ovarian cysts since I was 12. Growing up didn’t take it too seriously and didn’t have health insurance. We were pretty poor so I had to deal with chronic pain as a young girl. Years pass by I am 28 years old now and went to the hospital repeatedly due to vomiting, cramping, diarrhea all day, nausea, extreme fatigue , food adversions, occasional bleeding, body aches, and was told that it could be a virus or food poisoning. Ugh. So frustrating. This started happening a few months ago but only a few weeks before my period and in intervals. So I’d get the same symptoms every other month! So now that I’m realizing a pattern, I am eager to go see a GN. I’ve been self diagnosing myself to see what’s going on but getting closer and closer to finding out what’s actually happening. I just hope it isn’t anything serious. 😢
@@kellymcphaul2793 like it’s gotten so bad i literally just break down and cry. I dread my time of the time of month. I drink tea. I take pain pills constantly throughout the day so I can go to work. Then your appetite is so messed up but you’re hungry and if you do eat anything, even something small like a snack you’re automatically bloated. It’s the worst.
That is a very accurate description - I should add that in another video of describing how the pain can feel. Thanks for sharing and hope you are finding some ways to help manage (some) of the pain!
@@sparklesandbloom4874 reading and sharing has helped alot more than I could imagine. The mental stress that creeps it's head can be consuming so talking about it with women how understand is apart of management. Thank you for giving us the opportunity by posting a video very appreciated 💛
I started experiencing really painful periods from the age of 15. I went to the GP after fainting and throwing up from the pain. I couldn’t attend school, I could only lay down and cry and pass out and wake up again. And sweat. So much sweat from experiencing so much pain. The GP prescribed birth control pills because those tend to help with managing pain, but she didn’t feel the need to actually diagnose me because so many girls struggle with this without there actually being an underlying problem. I recently found out that my grandmother had endometriosis and needed to have a hysterectomy because the doctors were afraid for her life if she kept on having periods. I’m going back to my GP in two weeks and I’m demanding to either be referred to a gyno or for her to run some tests, idk how it all works. But I’m demanding to be seen by someone who can diagnose me. I’m tired of period pain to go undiagnosed for so many girls and women. I feel like it gets written of very easily and like it’s just something we should deal with. All the while ignoring an actual medical condition that needs to be monitored.
Julie, I definitely can empathize with you! I’m a medical doctor and have had to miss work due to severe pain, vomiting and sweating from endometriosis. I’m taking birth control pills which have given me my life back; but I agree, I feel like a lot of providers do not get how painful this condition can be. I definitely get it.
I feel your pain. Ive been feeling pain from 9 and the GPs do not listen. I hope you get someone to get down to the bottom of this. By the way just a quick point sadly hysterectomy cant get rid of the pain as endometriosis grows out of the uterus.
Dang! Your symptoms are pretty similar to mine😢 I've always used Piroxicam or Mefenamic acid for period cramps cos other NSAIDs didn't work. As of 5months ago, both drugs aren't effective (only relieves 20% of pain). Also, I started experiencing bad pelvic & low back pain with bloating & diarrhea from Day 12 (different from the usual one-sided ovulation pain). Shortly after it subsides, PMS takes over with similar symptoms from Day 22. I've been worried lately cos of I'm in med sch (3rd yr) which is super demanding so I plan to see an ObGyn in January.
Ok, I can verify I have seen this personally on a female medical professional. It is very very painful and debilitating at its worst. Some ppl go for a scan and it doesn't show up, that is because, at stage 1 or 2, if it is deep within the thigh area, it can be hard to see at first glance, almost undetectable. One thing that seems to go hand and hand with this condition, is low iodine levels. Also, there is link with milk and dairy products. At stage 1 or 2 it has been known that lifestyle changes combined with iodine supplements, whether through eating prawns or tablets and stopping milk and dairy can indeed cause the condition to subside and naturally literally go away. Often that regime is contemplated with leafy salads on a regular basis. Let me clarify, iodine deficiency, is usually attributed to this condition ever developing.
@@brendakabanda2181 Starflower oil is also worthy. Endometriosis occurs without supplementation, in most females that are prone to developing this condition, in Western countries especially.
The part about the bowel pain is spot on. I have really terrible IBS attacks from my endo. I had surgery once but I'm scared I'll need it again. It's so expensive too. I had my tubes out and Endo removed and it was like $2500. I'm scared I can't pay for it anymore.... I changed my diet recently to a one meal a day 24 hour intermittent fast. I know that's going to sound pretty extreme to anyone who's never fasted before but please trust me on this one. Only eating once a day it puts a lot less strain on your digestive system and if it's already experiencing a lot of strain or stress because of having endometrial lesions on the colon or nearby the colon you're not going to have as much pain digesting your food because you've only eaten one meal in 24 hours and I'm not saying eat just a couple of nuts and a piece of cheese or something I'm saying like eat the correct amount of calories for your height weights under body type etc in your goals but also just don't overdo it that was the reason why I was in so much pain and it was escalated every time it was my monthly time to have my period it was so painful!! Definitely reduce the amount of times you eat in a day like try to eat within a certain window this will definitely help with any digestive pain that you experience with physical pain this is a whole nother story but I have some tips that can help with people who have endometriosis. First of all try to take a nice hot bath use a favorite bath bomb or bubble bath this can really help eliminate the pain. Plus any kind of smell you really like is going to be very relaxing. Use one of those fancy bath bombs you say for a special occasion or make your own homemade bath salt or bath melt using shea butter which you can get pretty cheap on Amazon. The other thing that I recommend is the heating pad especially the kind that have those Jade or quart stones in them because those stones are pretty decent thermal conductors and they will stay warm long after the thing Auto shuts off so if you wake up in the middle of the night with some pain in your pelvis you can easily flip it on again it'll heat up pretty quick because of the residual heat in the stones. My next trip is going to sound really crazy and kind of sexual but I'm serious about this one get one of those vibrating wands or just a very intense high RPM vibrator use this on your pelvic area I'm talking like right below your belly button. This can actually help relieve some of the contractions and pain from the cramps your pelvis is basically spasming when you're having your period pain or endometriosis pain. I don't know what this does long-term like in terms of your overall health but I can just tell you in the short term it can help relieve your immediate pain without using drugs. Lastly I would say go ahead and take some Advil but you've probably already done that if you're in this much pain right? Taking medication isn't always the best choice especially because if you have an empty stomach the pain can be pretty bad and taking painkillers on an empty stomach can be bad overall long-term for your stomach it can also cause ulcers. This is something that's been well studied and published just look in PubMed. So if you're going to take painkillers make sure you have something to eat even if it's just some crackers or some nuts just something small but make sure your stomach isn't completely empty and make sure you drink plenty of water especially if you're taking a painkiller that's prescribed to you like Aleve or the generic Naproxen. Again I am not a doctor I am just a stupid engineer but this is just my experience too as somebody suffering from endometriosis since age 9/10. I apologize in advance for any misspellings or nonsensical sentences but I'm using voice to text.
I am 16 years old and am currently up at night in horrible pain like stabbing and feeling like i want to throw up. My mum has endometriosis and we are sure i do too as I get so sick and get stabbing pains and cramps all the way up my abdomen and back because i have a tilted uterus. They will not diagnose me by doing a laperoscopy because i am too young. I am getting a Mirena soon, but I am in so much pain i cannot handle it, it hurts so bad and i can’t walk, get shaky, get bladder issues and bowel issues and want to cry all the time. But we are pretty sure I have it
I have back pain aside from pelvic, sometimes I can’t walk properly because the back pain would extend to my leg. There’s times I feel like fainting. And there’s time I feel my uterus is coming out of my vagina. It’s very hard to tell people the pain because they didn’t experienced it and couldn’t get me. It started when I starts having period at age 11. Now that I’m in my 50s, I’m still experiencing the pain. I was only diagnosed with adenomysosis in my 40s. Now it’s migraines and vertigo. At least now it’s been talked about. All the pain you described, I’d experienced it. Very relatable. One time I was also experiencing “PMDD”. My Dr cannot diagnose me. I researched it myself and told her.
Never had kids because endo has hindered that, but I never want to say things I’ve never gone through myself, so I’ve never said they felt like contractions but god dang I look like I’m doing at at home birth because endo is so painful
Yes - your pain is valid!!! I remember wondering before I had my daughter- all those years as a teenager and in my twenties if this was what labor was like, and it is pretty comparable. So yes - what you are experiencing is like a HOME BIRTH on some level!!! I'm so sorry to hear that endo is part of what hindered fertility in your life; it is such a sad thing that endo takes so many things from us.
I'm in tears because it hurts so bad. It just showed up....doctors told me after I tied my tubes ten years ago that I would have issues later in life...and now its happening. Its unbearable
Yes - the tears, the screams, all of ways it wreaks havoc on our bodies. I'm so sorry we have to experience these things and hope you are finding some decent pain management tools!
Unfortunately tying the tubes doesn't stop it nor the removal of the uterus. It has to be a full hysterectomy. The ovaries have to go so that no estrogen is being produced.
Fellow woman with endometriosis here. Would highly recommend Cindy Mosbrucker. She performs very precise robotic excision surgery and is extremely knowledgeable and empathetic. You will get your life back.
I have lower back, abdominal, hip and right thigh pain almost every day, even on days without my period. Almost 5 years ago, this kind of pain started. Went to OB, Gastro, Neuro, Internist and others. Had MRIs twice, ultrasound several times, had colonoscopy, and others. I am basically dependent on pain relievers. People around me couldn’t understand how this feels. For years, my emotions have suffered because I couldn’t get the root cause of this chronic pain. I hope to find the right Dr and meds to manage this sickness 😢
When I had my daughter it was an emergency C-section and something went wrong with epidural and I could feel them cutting into my stomach, my Endo pain is as bad as that.
First time I felt that my pain was vindicated was when I gave birth for the first time. End stage contractions were exactly the same as period pain. Most of my labour was no where near as bad as a period!
Thank you so much for this Sparkles! It is so helpful hearing other endo voices- especially for women who have painful periods and don't know it shouldn't be this way!! Thanks for being vulnerable and helping the world of women's health in your way.
Endo pain for me feels like a bomb going off if it is a cyst resolving. For my period, endo pain feels not crampy but "broken". It feels like my rectum and uterus are broken and are gonna fall out of their respective holes. Definitely debilitating. Edit: General pelvic pain all the time for me, like a 1 (at this point). Feels like static nerve pain. If snow on an old television screen could be pain, that is it.
On my worst days, the pain travels down my legs and makes me unable to even stand up. Debilitating is the word I use. It’s awful. Birth control is helping me a lot right now but I’ve been on many birth controls over the years and they always stop working after a time. I have my first surgery scheduled for next year!
I have many of your symptoms, also 😅 I've lost count of all the symptoms I have. Dealing with this is A LOT! It's crazy that the pain is similar to labor pain...
Thank you for sharing this. I am in the process of an official diagnosis (29 now symptoms starred at 11). My pain I would say is definitely relentless, a constant ache of tug and pull. I 100% agree with you on the pain tolerance, it's something we are so used to it, that it's just "normal". Mine is every day, however during ovulation and cycle it truly is debilitating, it's one of those feelings where you just don't know what to do, you just can't.. idk how to explain it. You feel hopeless.
im just back from the hospital. I went into an icy lake today and i believe the cold water set me off. I thought i might be dying the pain was so severe. I was half naked and couldnt move from the floor. It took about an hour of me screaming, heaving, breathing deeply and the pain finally started to go away. Of course by the time i was at the hospital it was subsided. I told my mom that i felt like i was going into labor even though ive never had children.
I think these kind of videos and comment sections are great, being able to relate to others and read about real experiences and speculations instead of just the medical definition helps paint a bigger picture. For me personally, the type of pain can vary extremely much cycle to cycle. If I have severe cramping in the uterus that makes me naseous and faint, that usually takes over, so I don't think about or feel too much specific pain. But some cycles I have less cramping(or I have taken strong pain-killers), and only feel a constant burning sensation in specific areas, occational stabbing pain, a feeling of being poked by needles and pain that radiates to very specific places. I learned later that these were very typical for endo, but I probably didn't notice them for a long time because all the "overall pain" took over. I am 24 and after years on the hormonal IUD with manageble results it got so much worse fast, with no lifestyle changes. Now trying stronger pills instead, hoping it will work!
Omg - I "got" my period really late... all my friends were already there so I'd been awaiting that "great day" for some time - the ONLY menstrual pain I've ever had in my whole life was on that 1st day and my thoughts were "so this is what I've been waiting for? Oh no! And what about swimming cycling etc?" All ok from then on but all the best to all you strong ladies out there
Thank you! Your spot on with explaining the pain and it's horrible some have to go through it. I've tried Evening Prime Rose oil, Calcium, multivitamin, and vitiman C. Those vitamins helped! Prayers to anyone experiencing Endo pain.
I literally have this but not diagnosed yet. my period is heavy all the time and it's every 2/3 weeks and get this just before and after and during every period and its SO INTENSE. I get like a really painful backache going up and lower back then going into stomach cramps and back ache at same time and I have to go to bed and have a nap or lay on the bathroom floor for an hour to sleep as that's the only thing that takes my mind off it. it gets so intense that it gives me sharp pain on my sides like ribs and my breasts. it gets so bad I'm so close to calling the hospital but I dont end up doing that. also the fact my mum and auntie had it too so wouldn't surprise me if I had it
Hope you feel better soon and know you're not alone. Also please don't be afraid to get a laparoscopic surgery I know it sounds scary to have anesthesia but if you've had it before for another surgery you will probably be okay again a second time I was only out for about an hour and a half and that's really not a whole long time considering people who have brain and heart surgery it takes a lot longer!! So yeah it's not a big deal and the scars are so damn tiny you can't even see them! Please get the laparoscopy if your doctor is willing to do it. It's really the only surefire way to know if you have enter or not which is really terrible. I wish that there was a non-invasive way to diagnose this disease but it's really the only way to find out and I do not regret having my surgery 2 years ago. Make sure you have a person to take you to the surgery and from the surgery because after your surgery you will be kind of woozy and you will definitely not be able to drive a vehicle. You don't want to take public transit either or even an Uber trust me on this one you'll want to have a family member or a good friend a boyfriend or a girlfriend who can take care of you. I was so grateful that my boyfriend took care of me after my surgery. Also as a tip for anyone who gets laparoscopy make sure to make some lemon sorbet with honey and Ginger or just honey and lemon. Do this before your surgery a few days and freeze small portions of it when they put you under for the anesthesia they have to put a tracheal tube down your throat to keep your lungs breathing because you're going to be unconscious I know that sounds scary but it's pretty standard procedure but it can make your throat kind of sore a few days after your surgery so having some cool ice cream or something light like sorbet which will be easy on your stomach is a very good idea I hope this tip helps and also please again don't be afraid to talk to your medical professional about getting the laparoscopic surgery.
Oh my gosh, it totally effects my appetite and i get nausea, bladder pain, i literally can not move my left leg at all without pain now. I think i have too many adhesions near my left thigh and groin area. It hurts to put my shoes on because I can't lift my leg.
Thank you for this video. I suffer with horrible pain during my periods and used to have pain all month long. I've missed out on a lot of life and had to miss hours of work over the years. I am healing my gut and (hopefully) endometriosis naturally using the GAPS diet, after going to many doctors who really never helped. I am feeling better over the last few months after being on this diet for almost 8 months, but definitely still having debilitating pain during my actual period. I have never been able to get pregnant and its completely exhausting to have to deal with all the pain and but to never have a baby. Sad...
I've felt stabbing pains in my cervix, like someone was making love to me with a knife, and in my rectum. Turns out it was because I had endo deposits on my cervix and the Pouch of Douglas. x
My daughter is 15 .. she’s been having severe pain since her periods started at age 12 .. my daughter faints with the severe pain she then awakes to fast and continuous breathing in and out then she faints again then up again then faints again .. her last episode she went through the same pattern but only this time she could not breath after fainting mouth open with but could not breath frightening for me and scary .. does anyone have these symptoms during periods and this crazy pain ?
I often used to think I was in labour, just didn't realise I was pregnant... I wasn't, then the feeling of dying would come, stabbing punching tearing pains
My pain is through of the year. I had histroctomy, so I don't see my period. I diagnosed with endometriosis. I had a pain b/4 surgery 3 years ago. Eventhrough, I didn't fix the problem. Still I am suffering with the pain which you described
I think I have this mine is the worst during period. I feel like something wants to fall out of me it hurts so bad at times also one night I felt like I was in labor but I wasn’t and was confused on what was going on because I wasn’t pregnant. It’s not like it hurts bad the whole time but it does badly many times. I always have diarrhea during periods and I have to pee a lot both on and off my period and I’ve been checked for a uti and don’t have one. Mines a stabbing pain when it’s the worst. My back and body hurts to and idk why but I definitely think it’s this. It makes it hard to move at times I’m so tired of this and I didn’t experience this so bad till after I had my son and idk why.
Every morning when I drink my coffee and need to go 💩 I get what feels like labor pain. It’s excruciating!! 12/10 is right! I always have to run to the bath. It’s the only thing that helps. I’m in the bath as I type this. When I called to schedule with my OB/GYN they said they couldn’t get me in for three weeks. I can’t take this anymore. Same thing happened to my mom and she had a hysterectomy at 36. I’m 42 now. Calling to see if they can get me in sooner as soon as I get outta the tub. Thanks for this video!
5 surgeries later, it doesn't get better. My case is extreme: there is endo on my bowel. Every surgery, my bowel is a problem. It's everywhere. Doctors are always baffled when they open me up.. The first 2 days of my period are hell. Infertility is even worse pain. Now at almost 38, I need IVF and I don't know how this will happen financially. And I need to start on the 14th of May. It's wild.

Hi Charnie, I'm so sorry you are going through this and I hope that the IVF process for you is as smooth as it can be - I'm thinking of you. I've also had endo scraped off of my bowel and out of my rectum (yikes) - it is part of what causes all the gastro-intentestinal symptoms for me which also add to the pain. It's so tough to have endo growing in these areas, and can make pain and life in general so challenging. Hang in there!
When you said you can’t compare the pains! I totally relate . Ppl ask me what my pain level is now and I be like idk and all I know is it’s no where what it use to be and that’s all I can ask 😭 I have no measure of pain cuz my old pin was off the charts!
People think that i overdramatize because period is a common thing. Trust me if Its been so many years i am getting period, but since last few years I have such an excruciating pain that I dread 2 days of my period each month. Its like a near to death experience. I have so much pain and I feel lost and clueless
Went to the er Monday night. Was there for 12 hours. Just horrifying. Diagnosed with endo. Debilitating. I think I passed out on my way to the er. Couldn’t walk. Been dealing with this for years, thinking it was just normal girl stuff. I’m not sure I can do this for the rest of my life; it gets worse every month. Im scared to death of what next month is going to be like. I can’t believe there is no cure.
I started keeping a pain jornal and found that over my cycle I was in pain 17 days out of my 25 day cycle. I haven't been officially diagnosed yet. My doctor wants to try an iud first before surgery to see if it helps with my pain.
I don’t know if I have endo. Trying to figure out if I might. Ive always had trouble with my period. I was put on birth control. I’ve struggled with severe pain in my abdomen and lower back, throwing up, diarrhea, feeling like I’m being stabbed with a knife when trying to have a bowel movement, to the point I feel like I won’t be able to actually poop. Most recently I have experienced burning while peeing during the first couple days of my period, which has just been the past couple months. I’m not sure if I have endo or just have really bad periods.
Really bad periods is what I was told I had for years. Really bad periods isn't a medical diagnosis, and isn't normal. Find a doc that will advocate for you, it feels really hard sometimes and at times I've basically have given up on Healthcare providers, but there are good docs out there.
Wow a lot of these symptoms are similar to mine. When I wake up in the morning also and I have to go to the toilet, I'm in pain from my bladder being full. I've recently been experiencing intense headaches and nausea in the lead up to my period, it sucks!
If anyone can answer how long before they would actually do Laparoscopy? I have literary been suffering for more then a month with relentless pain. My doctor put my on a birth control to tapper on. I pretty much finished it and still in pain. I just want my obgyn to let me do the surgery? I’m going tomorrow with my mom. i’m 30 yrs old and I have been in so much pain I’m taking my mom with me this this time🙈🤦🏼♀️😭. This is something I have never experienced and I have had painful periods since I was little.
Can I please ask a question to all you wonderful warrior ladies here? I don't know what on earth is wrong with me but I have been diagnosed with IBS after having an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy which were normal. Bloods all normal. I get crippling pain at any time of the month a lot but usually worse with period and ovulation. My hormones are so out of whack and I am very tearful and wound up all the time not to mention anxious and depressed. I do get classic symptoms of IBS but also hormonal and cycle problems so how the heck do I know if I suffer with endo as well because I'm honestly on the floor with the pain but it's not coming just around my period. Does anyone else get bowel problems with endo like constipation and diarrhoea? So hard to work out which it is or both? thank you.
Hi I have exactly the same symptoms. I'm constantly nausea, esp after bm doc said ibs after endo and colon and all check-ups. My symptoms get so bad during ovulation and near to my period. I'm seriously considering to do a laparoscopic test to rule this out. Otherwise I'm just stuck with ibs and tt's life debilitating!
wondering if anyone experiences this as well! im not diganosed but i get severe stabbing sharp pains but its focused in my left ovary, i get normal period cramps in that whole general area but only get stabbing pains in my left ovary before my period, during my period its not as bad but then ovulation is very bad. , I originally thought i had an ovary cyst but got 2 ultrasounds and they told me nothing is wrong i dont know what to do anymore. It comes in waves/flashes of sharp pains lasting 20-30 seconds then gone back to mild cramp, when this happens it takes my breathe away, i feel light headed, and like i need to puke. I dont know how to go about finding out whats wrong when every time i get an ultasound they say nothing is wrong.
Hei. I have the same and i couldnt take the pain anymore so i decided to go to another gynecologist and she did transvaginal to me and she saw i have endometriosis, she gave me pills to take and didnt help me at all so we move to next step which is getting laprascopic.. transvaginal can detect if you have endo or not. Hope this helps. :)
@@Wenska09 Hi girl!! i ended up having an ovary cyst from my copper iud..... i removed the iud myself because the pain was increasing and ever since that day i havent had pain again! im glad you got help and got answers, doctors werent really helping me and never said it could be my IUD when it was.
Hi Dani, I'm so sorry for my late reply to your comment (I haven't been great at managing my youtube account). Sorry to hear that you've been struggling with this kind of sharp pain, and at a loss to figure out what's causing it (I did initially wonder if maybe it was a cyst related thing, but sounds like you've had lots of ultrasounds ruling that out) - I can however, absolutely relate to sharp precise pain on one side (feeling like it's right in/on my ovary) - I sometimes describe it as either knife like or like a really small suction tube pulling on that area. I've had times where it has been incredibly painful, like unable to move. I've boiled it down to an ovulation pain - just the pain that occurs from the egg either being released or traveling through the tube. I think it can be common for some women, who have endo or maybe don't even have endo, to feel it can be quite painful. Hang in there- I hope in the last few months you've found some ways to relieve or cope with the pain - or perhaps have had some answers!
Hi I’m 14 I have suffered with pain since I started my periods at 10 last year I had my laparoscopy and got diagnosed. I’m now on the 3rd pill I’ve tried and have been bleeding for 2 weeks. The pain is so unbelievable and I’m so lightheaded. I refuse to go into hospital due to the bad experience I experienced 2 years ago in the same scenario. They overdosed me with laxatives when I wasn’t constipated it was my endo. I’m currently feeling 8.5/10 but idk what to do
Hi Amelia- I'm sorry for the late reply to your comment and I'm so sorry you are going through this. I remember dealing with endometriosis symptoms at your age, and it was really tough and often felt alone in it. I too remember being put on various different birth control pills to see if they would help the pain - for me they never seemed to help, but have had other friends with endometriosis who have experienced some pain relief from it. It can also be really upsetting and even traumatizing when you haven't received good or appropriate care in the hospital - so I feel for you having had that really tough experience, and feeling scared to go back to the hospital. Don't lose hope - in my experience it has taken a number of "trial and error" type approaches with different medications etc to find a pain relief plan that manages some of my pain. The other thing that has been really helpful is finding a doctor who feels supportive to YOU - I do have a gynecologist, but I feel that I benefit greatly from just my regular family doctor because she is great at providing pain management options but ALSO is very caring and empathetic, and emotional support like that from your family doctor can go a long way. I hope at some point in the future I can get back to making more endometriosis videos and would love to share about my experience with endo as a teenager, because I feel it's a very unique challenge having to deal with endo in those years in particular. Hang in there Amelia!
Try the 90 day birth control. I’ve been on it since 15, if anything you don’t have to deal with the worst part every single month. And change your diet, no milk. I also did the Lupron shot which I believe is now oralissa. I started getting sick young and didn’t get diagnosed till it was 21 with surgery. Took the shot two later, I have been much better since then. Not perfect but much better. And I had it really bad. There is hope! Feel better. Oh and fish oil and iron vitamins!!!
Update 8 months later: I’m now starting zoladex. My reproductive system is being turned off and I’m going into a medical menopause. Hoping for the best
Hey - absolutely, I have definitely had issues with fatigue - more recently it has been in the two days leading up to my period I have really extreme fatigue. I hope you are able to find some ways to go easy on yourself when you are feeling that fatigue because it can be pretty tough to function through that!

Blessed day everyone want to say a big thank you to Dr Mabosa on UA-cam 12years of PCOS gone and ENDOMETRIOSIS gone!! they told me i won't be able to conceive right now I'm pregnant 😊soon to be a mother 😍 after years of pain and hurt
Did you have problems getting pregnant? Sorry if it’s too personal I’m just nervous and wondering because I have the same feelings. I didn’t have a problem getting pregnant with my son but my partner and I have been ttc for about 10 months now and nothing yet🥺 I agree my period pains feel exactly like contractions. My bloating has gotten worse than ever and my periods started getting off track.
I dont know if I do have endometriosis, but I'd say that I would agree with the labor pain things. I've had 3 babies and it felt similar to some of the pain I deal with now.
I started taking the medication I bought from Dr igho channel on UA-cam and surprisingly it was working gradually and in 9days everything stopped. I am really happy that you helped me cure Endometriosis Completely and I pray that God strengthen you Dr Igho!
I’m glad to say I have passed the 5 year mark! And I had severe endo . I’m high key obsessed with my surgeon because of it. But I also did the lupron treatment two years after my surgery, the treatment was pretty rough but I’ve been going strong (whatever that is) on the one surgery. And this makes me mad cuz what did mine do that the others aren’t? Or was it the shot?? I pray the pain never comes back full force and I pray you find some relief one day . Fish oil and iron vitamins together have been helping me out lately! Take them every day or at least two weeks before your period. (And I’m not trying to down play anything, just want you to know that there is hope!) ❤️

Would you say that endo-pain is the same as labour pain
@@delightcheure8206 yes, it definitely is.
I wonder if menstrual pain is the nature’s way of preparing our bodies and minds for labour...
I agree with the marijuana. I figured out edibles help the internal pain better than just smoking it. But smoking it helps with the muscle pain

The cramps are EXACTLY THE SAME as contractions and labour pain.
Thank you for explaining that the pain can go on all month. It’s completely exhausting. x
I agree as a sufferer as well. Sending love ❤️
It's so random, but not enough health professionals are talking about this.
it felt so nice to hear someone else talk about bladder pain it is so so horribly painful so sharp
Kids are worth it, at least a epidural helps with labour pains. Lol
I hope that you can find her help.

Honey, - they are all connected!! I had intense lower back pain and weakness in my legs for years before the symptoms got worse as the disease progressed, and even the first gynaecologist I saw told me the IBS-like symptoms were probably that and not endo. Good luck to all of us getting rid of this nasty disease. We can do it, we strong woman.
And Drs say...."it can't be that bad". I've walked out of many drs offices.
Yes!!! No breaks, no time to breathe. It really is terrible. I literally get suicidal when the pain begins, it's that bad😔
Thank you. Just had my 3rd emergency room visit due to this. It is such a miserable feeling. It takes me a week or so to get back to normal. This just started in my 40s. Oh and the migraines, omg.
It feels like all my organs are ripping apart

Man the pain gets worse every year😩like just when you think it couldn’t get any worse
Totally thinking that today.

Stabbing🔪🔪🔪 pains omg contractions is a very good description
Accurate!!!
deep stabbing and twisting the knife pain
Dang! Your symptoms are pretty similar to mine😢
I've always used Piroxicam or Mefenamic acid for period cramps cos other NSAIDs didn't work.
I had never heard of iodine being attributed to endometriosis but I'm glad I read it it. I'll take the supplements.
I apologize in advance for any misspellings or nonsensical sentences but I'm using voice to text.

thank you for sharing all of this Kate!
Me too have back pain and my left leg
When I had my daughter it was an emergency C-section and something went wrong with epidural and I could feel them cutting into my stomach, my Endo pain is as bad as that.
First time I felt that my pain was vindicated was when I gave birth for the first time. End stage contractions were exactly the same as period pain. Most of my labour was no where near as bad as a period!
I’m having a hysterectomy in a few weeks because endometriosis has really ruined any form of normal life for me so I’m evicting it. Xx
How are you? Did it help you?
My bowel issues are worse than my bladder issues but after I pee my bladder like cramps and throbs and sometimes it urgent and other times it’s not
Thank you fir posting this as a fellow sufferer. Sending love to you and everyone reading this ❤️
Thank you so much for this Sparkles! It is so helpful hearing other endo voices- especially for women who have painful periods and don't know it shouldn't be this way!! Thanks for being vulnerable and helping the world of women's health in your way.

It is. And also not to think that you are exaggerating the situation.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Mine lasts for 7 to 9 days. Most times it's every day ..... Severe🥺😣.
Hey, I hope you've managed to get this sorted in this last year
im just back from the hospital.
My pain is so bad I can’t even walk. It feels like my uterus is going to fall out 😫
Omg - I "got" my period really late... all my friends were already there so I'd been awaiting that "great day" for some time - the ONLY menstrual pain I've ever had in my whole life was on that 1st day and my thoughts were "so this is what I've been waiting for?

The pain is unbearable, and very stressful,l was 25 when l had it,l am now 80 and had a complete hysteprectomy.

Hang in there!
that suction tool thing is very similar to how i feel. it is my left ovary :(
When you said you can’t compare the pains! I totally relate . Ppl ask me what my pain level is now and I be like idk and all I know is it’s no where what it use to be and that’s all I can ask 😭 I have no measure of pain cuz my old pin was off the charts!

My back pain is what had me misdiagnosed for so damn long. Cuz they were focusing on that. Tbh I was too 🤦🏾♀️.
People think that i overdramatize because period is a common thing. Trust me if Its been so many years i am getting period, but since last few years I have such an excruciating pain that I dread 2 days of my period each month. Its like a near to death experience. I have so much pain and I feel lost and clueless
Burning and radiating
When I take ibuprofen I takes pain from 10 to 8 or 8 to 6maybe 5 if I'm lucky
Sounds like endo but see a specialist not a gyn
Wow a lot of these symptoms are similar to mine. When I wake up in the morning also and I have to go to the toilet, I'm in pain from my bladder being full. I've recently been experiencing intense headaches and nausea in the lead up to my period, it sucks!

I’m watching you from Liberia 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷
wondering if anyone experiences this as well! im not diganosed but i get severe stabbing sharp pains but its focused in my left ovary, i get normal period cramps in that whole general area but only get stabbing pains in my left ovary before my period, during my period its not as bad but then ovulation is very bad. , I originally thought i had an ovary cyst but got 2 ultrasounds and they told me nothing is wrong i dont know what to do anymore.
@@danipoitras5553 I also just noticed this second comment above! I hope having the IUD out has helped!
Can someone share what food you eat that doesn't make the pain worse and that you can't throw up? I am fed up of throwing up besides this pain
I’m currently feeling 8.5/10 but idk what to do
Poor baby, wish u well.
Did it throw off PH too?
Hi sparkles! Did u ever feel real bad fatigue? I’m so tired because my anxiety will not let me go to sleep and I feel really bad fatigue

It's worse than child birth. No it's not the same. It felt like something was burning me with acid. I had to have surgery to correct it.
My doctor think I have it :/ I’m really scared.
Nothing to be scared of if you’re already living with it! You’re strong af already. Just don’t give up! 🙏🏾
@@kissesnkush that really helps. Thank you 🥰🥰 I definitely don’t feel strong 😅

Me at the moment. Sighsssss
The pain sucks
I LOVE YOUR SWEATER
Tell the truth any surgical procedure you under go for Endo will return after 5years
I’m glad to say I have passed the 5 year mark!
@@kissesnkush that's what I'm trying to let them know that laparoscopy is not the way i got mine permanently cleared with herbal medications without any side effects with the help of DR MABOSA HERBAL on UA-cam
