I had used XS max for almost 3 years , I got severe eyestrain (oled led). Last week I bought iphone11 (retina display) , no more eyestrain. I thought I really made a good choice for myself.
Iphone 3gs had 165pixels per inch…then came iphone 4 with the all new Retina Display …Steve Jobbs called it this because he said that 330ppi is enough for the human eye to stop seeing individual pixels…thus, Retina Display…they were all LCD’s up until iphone X which came with OLED and 460ppi
I just bought iphone XS Max, previously I was using iPhone XR which has same display as of iphone 11. So, In my opinion, display and in hand feel of iPhone XS max is far much better than iPhone 11. Iphone XS max has stainless steel body while 11 has aluminum. Moreover, ip11 has big bezels and it is also thick while xs max has small bezels. so, in my opinion, Either you should buy iphone XS max or go for iPhone 11 pro or pro max if you have buget. Only advantage in iphone 11 is night mode. If you get XS max, you get Oled super crisp screen. I was not satisfied with iphone XR's screen so I think you won't like ip11 lcd considering its price. So, if you can buy iphone 11 pro than go for that otherwise get XS max.
I used both of them. Design Iphone xs max is superb, stainless steel is one of the best looking material in my opinion Mine is white, it's classic and elegant. Iphone 11 looks modern but not too classy. I got th purple one. It's fun colour and unique. Display I prefer oled for multimedia, if you don't compare it head to head, you'll be fine with iphone 11 display. And the border in iphone 11 is bigger than iphone xs max. Camera I prefer ultra wide on iphone 11. Telephoto is not really game changer in everyday situation. Battery Iphone 11 feels more durable. But it's actually on par. In a simple ways.. If i had the chance to buy iphone 11 pro max. Then that's the perfect choice. Compare to iphone 12 pro max, i feel iphone 11 pro max has better / refined design. Classy and elegant.
I agree. I am still using my XS max to this day, 12 July 2023. I have been thoroughly satisfied with my Xsmax up until now, and I am still very happy with it.

I did just try in 2023 to upgrade to the 11 Pro Max and I didn't feel like there was enough of an upgrade to make it and I like the touch on the XS Max and my 11 Pro Max got really hot. My XS Max has never done that. I am ending up returning the 11 Pro Max and might go up to a refurbished 13 or might wait another year and get a 16. I have heard good things about the Pro Max and reviews call both of those models beasts. But I think 13 goes way up in battery life.
I got Gold Xs Max 256GB it’s a great phone I switched back to iPhone after using Pixel 4XL for 1year.! iOS is great i love it but android on google pixel was good too just not the best

both are almost similer in terms of editing but iphone 11 has night mode option which will help you to capture some light pictures in low light other then that xs max has better display and good battery backup thats the main reasons between them
