I can't listen to the over-produced second-class talents hyped by the pop music industry, give me a true music-maker like Iris Dement, thanks very much.
Iris is an extremely talented song writer, and with a beautiful voice. she may not be polished and glitzy like the so called over hyped divas of today, but that's what sets her apart from them. she's real, and that's what many of us adore about her.
I love all of Iris Dement's songs, but the ones that stay stuck in my head are "Our Town" and "Let the Mystery Be". What a great musical talent she has.

She's a fine and courageous singer/songwriter who get's straight to the heart.BTW....loved your opener track form ( unaware of him )...... Well, I can say....she does have a beautiful voice...and I got to hear it personally in Bemidji, MN and talked with the wonderful lady afterwards also got a picture with her. I treasure all of her songs...but this was the very first one I was introduced to from my Healer....so no...I do not believe it is the same as "Delta Dawn" as referred to by rockgor. Great job, Iris!
Her voice is wonderful. She is singing traditionally here, trying to sound like a regular country singer. Her natural style is higher pitched, which is more original and truer to herself. I think she has settled on her natural style and given up trying highly produced, more mainstream stuff. That is just fine with me. She is very special.
