Same can be said for Young Jedi Adventures, and let's nip the meme in the bud, no, the series finale (whenever that happens) will not end with the younglings during Order 66, as this show is set in The High Republic era like The Acolyte is (kinda bummed it was canceled, even if it's writing and acting was on par with the Prequel Trilogy, and I'm more concerned that the Fandumb Menace will attack the kid protagonists in the next Star Wars show, Skeleton Crew, it'll be like the harassment Jake Lloyd went through, only infinitely worse since social media exists)

Remasters are great as the developers make a game look how you thought it did as a child. Jokes aside. Bringing back a game that was all hailed as a fantastic one is always a great time to see both new and old players get to experience it Honestly I rather pay money for a game that I know is a good time than one that probably is just graphics the movie
Well it won’t happen as thanks to the Patrick Star Game, THQNordic basically lost the rights to make SpongeBob games. Plus the tie-in games for Truth or Square and the Movie game were obviously tie-in games, there’s no way they could get remastered unless it’s Disney.
One remaster I feel like no one talks about enough is the Nintendo Switch remaster of WonderBoy: The Dragon's Trap. It was really well made with both the soundtrack and art style. You could even switch back and fourth between the original and remastered graphics. Also from what I heard, the charm stones was something you initially needed to grind for to unlock new weapons at shops. Now, there's only 1 weapon you need 4 charm stones for and there's only 6 total you need to find in secret areas.

SMT Nocturne HD is a good contender for this list. The game remastered in HD and featured voiced acting that was well received. (I'm waiting for that Digital Devil remaster)
I'm honestly getting tired of people mocking Disney as of late, it's just as boring and unfunny as a Rob Schneider film, or whatever that dumb basketball comedy film was called that came out last year that was "the most offensive comedy of all time" by just copying jokes from better comedies and not understanding why they worked, or a Seltzer and Friedberg film
3:10 At least Clancy Brown did return to voice Mr. Krabs in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 so I’m pretty sure that Clancy Brown will show up in more SpongeBob games eventually. 😊 8:16 Don’t forget that it even has an updated final boss which is even more awesome than how it was in the original. 😊 9:15 That jumpscare got me laughing. XD
Honestly the most jarring part pf Rehydrated is the Voices. We have the modern looks with the old pre-movie voice for Spongebob (by which I mean they didn’t artificially raise the pitch on Tom), still no Clancy because for whatever reason getting him for the games was borderline impossible, and Ernest Borgnine couldn’t be consistent with his Mermaid Man voice or they got the guy that voiced Mr. Krabs here to do it.
That one gem of a quote seems more like poking fun at those kinds of people who go for those kinds of avatar creations not promoting it, so I still see nothing wrong with it
10. SpongeBob was part of my childhood, so the remastered game is enough to make fans happy. 9. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro came back? That's great... too bad Blizzard made a big mess. 8. Yeah, Wind Waker was like Ugly Sonic, but as a chibi baby. I'm glad to see the remaster fixed so many flaws. 6. I'm not much of a Xenoblade fan since Kingdom Hearts and Magiswords became famous. On the other hand, 5. Tulio summed it up pretty well. 4. Why can't Silent Hill remaster their games as well as Mario Superstars? 3. Bravo for adding a save option. 2. Metroid Prime is iconic. The remaster is perfection, and I can't help laughing from that Toy Story reference. 1. Jasper Pie has entered the chat. Seeing my fellow gamers happy gives me so much joy! I don't have any to add this time, so I will just say for me Mario All Stars is my personal favorite on this list. Plus I know someone who knows this version as his childhood version. But really, can we go wrong with a remastered or remade Mario game? I have games I would love to see return! But I am not getting my hopes up honestly. Some of my nostalgic choices have a snowball's chance at coming back.
First of all, Crash n sain is a remake, not a remaster. It was remade from scratch. Second of all, it was owned by universal, Naughty Dog was contracted to make it, which is why it went multi plat after the PS1 games
The reason the cutscenes aren't redubbed in BRBB Rehydrated is because apparently if they did that, they'd have to recast some characters due to time. Mermaid Man's VA was one that didn't have his regular voice actor from the show (and he's sadly passed away now). While Barnacle Boy did have his voice actor, he's also passed away, meaning that we'd still have a replacement Mermaid Man voice plus a replacement Barnacle Boy even if we got Clancy. They made the right call there
remaster: fresh coat of paint, a few qol upgrades, fixing some bugs, rolling in any dlc that came out after the original into the whole, and 'maybe' adding a few extra things here and there just to spice it up remake: full overhaul, new engine, new gameplay system, new 'everything' the story may be the same but the game itself is brand new built from the ground up there are some that blur the line, the crash bandicoot games are 'technicly' remakes but they were only done that way because the devs had no choice, the old master files were gone forcing them to work from the ground up, but they kept to the spirit of the originals and made them as close as they posibly could...soo yeah...
You think that Disney had a thing for David Tennant? Not only did David Tennant do the vouce of Scrooge McDuck in the Ducktales remake, but when Disney got the rights to show Doctor Who, who was the Doctor at the time. Oh, right, it was David Tennant playing a new version before handing the reins to Barbie actor Ncuti Gatwa. I'm just saying.
Not to mention he played the big bad of Jessica Jones Season 1, which is now on Disney+ along with every other Marvel show that was exclusive to Netflix at the time
There was also this live stage show with the Muppets which the Pigs in Space sketch actually had a Doctor Who homage with David Tennant reprising his role, well, that's one version, the other version of the sketch has Peter Davison, but yeah, this also adds to this Doctor Who obsession Disney seems to have.
9:08 I agree the Firey Joker. Sonic Forces isn't a bad game. It's a *B* tier game Edit: The editor left it there apparently, so I agree with him in saying it's a *B* tier game
There was also a version of All-Stars that includes an upgraded version of World, that gave Luigi unique sprites like sliding down hills on his knees or spitting fireballs
I find it funny that Scrooge refers to “3 cubic acres of cash”. Acres are a _square_ measurement, so a cubic acre would be…a tesseract? Yeah, that fits.
2: Really nice remaster 6: Better graphics than the original 7: Nice graphics 8: This Remaster was superb 9:Really solid trilogy 10: I Like Cosmic Shake. Have not played this game. Nice list. Some other good remasters are Kirby´s return do Dreamland Deluxe, Klonoa Remaster (sad to not see these games in the list), Metal Gear Solid HD collection (Specifically Peace Walker since it´s easier to play it on a console). The handheld KH remaster since it´s easier to play those games on a console and 358 days and Recoded adds scenes, also for KH since you can skip cutscenes. Shadow of the Collosus (although that might be more of a remake since it was marketed as a remake), F X remaster since you can skip cutscenes. Ocarina of Time since you can play it on the go and get help when you get stuck. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection since they add new characters and has a solid online play, Links Awakeining (although that might be more of a remake).
I honestly feel like Wind Waker HD should have been a place or two higher imho. Sure, it sold less than the original, but that's more the fault of the Wii U's poor advertising than the game itself. HD had SO many features that just make it a straight up improvement to the original in just about every way. Outside of the things you mentioned: a second screen for your Sea Chart and Treasure Charts, touch screen item swapping, key items like the Wind Waker and Sail being mapped to the D-Pad so they don't take up buttons anymore, and the ***SWIFT SAIL***, I mean it's straight up better on that ALONE. Also, c'mon, the Forsaken Fortress is NOT that bad. You can clean that place out in like 5-8 minutes tops on your first visit. It's not even THAT stealth heavy, the biggest stealth segment is dodging the beams of light at the very start and then the barrel stuff on the top floor. That's it. All the barrel shenanigans on the bottom floors are 100% optional. Like this isn't in the same caliber as Skyward Sword's goddamn stealth segment, let alone A Link Between Worlds--and that had an ESCORT MISSION attached to it.
Spoilers for the Number 1 segment I’m guessing a certain Mr. Turner had a bit of help with the number 1 segment. But in all seriousness, during the transition, I asked myself “Why weren’t the Sam & Max remasters in the honorable mentions?” And then I saw the cartoon clip! I loved these hilarious games, and while I haven’t got around to the third yet, I’m definitely looking forward to it!
Wind Waker is underrated. Heck, the art style makes it timeless. Some realistic graphics at the time show their age, but WW's style really held up, giving it its own unique identity you can't confuse with anything else. The story was still fun and dark and gave us some of the best characters and moments.
When I saw Metroid Prime Remastered getting released, I had to get it! Once I beat it, I was impressed. Now, it's my 6th favorite game of all time! Almost in my top 5...
Shoutout to #3 getting the props and recognition it deserves! It's the most overlooked game in the series by far, and the remaster makes it finally bearable.
firstly, I completely agree with you about Sonic Forces, every time I tell someone I think it's good, I get dirty looks, secondly, I had an idea for a potential list I got from the Gluckons from the Oddworld games, Top 10 Capitalist Bosses, or villains if it's easier to find entries, a list of the best villains that do whatever they want all for the sake of business
Basically anything by Nightdive. They have been killing it with their remasters of classic games. The lenghts they go for some of them is nothing short of impressive.
Romancing SaGa 3, Minstrel's Song Remastered, and SaGa Frontier Remastered overhauled the UI, introduced an interesting New Game Plus that you can do at any point in your current playthrough (after clearing at least one story in Frontier, I think), meaning getting stuck in a difficult area is a thing of the past, and included new story to wrap up loose ends in the original games. The only flaw is that it was far too obscure a game series for Josh to have ever had a chance of playing them.
16:05 Gotta love Rik... And you also gotta love that he is in some way immortalized in the world of gaming! Whether it be through advertisements or his voice acting role in Hogs of War, he's a part of our group!

A few more mentions: 1. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Triple remaster, nuff said. 2. Sonic Origins. In addition to bringing back classic platformers, it also gives the option to play without life limitation, and you can retry bonus rounds. That last change is already a massive improvement. 3. Both Ace Attorney trilogy packages, and I’m so looking forward to the Investigations package. 4. MediEvil. That remaster is fantastic, though a bit debatable on being a remake or a remaster. I think it’s a remaster, because the levels are the same, and so are the dialogs. They actually used the same voice clips from the original game.
11:50 this is one of my favourite parts of the video. As a wrestling fan who was watching WWE at this time in 2011, you using that audio from that Vince McMahon CM Punk segment killed me.

It was only released very recently, which may be a reason why it didn't feature on this list, but the Beyond Good and Evil Remaster is one of the better remasters I have played. Improved character models, some QoL changes and there is a unique side quest added to act as a teaser for the sequel. Also very reasonably priced.
Another list of some games that are good remasters Now I want to see remasters for the following games Dot Hack (the originals) Sly Cooper (Come on give me my Buddy's series back to glory dammit)
Ooooh boy do I remember the Bosco fiasco. I can understand some of the fans frustrations on the changes as it was kinda out of the blue. But I still loved it. However, what bothered me the most was that there were fans that HARASSED and BULLIED fans that had Sam and Max season 1 remastered on their steam library; one left a positive review but explained that they won't be playing it as they were bullied into taking it out of their game library for good and at least hoped others would enjoy it. I was furious. I understand that policing fandoms is pointless as sharpening a pencil with a thread needle, but I refused to let that slide. I made a review myself, pointing out the pros and cons and the "fans" behavior towards other fans in the Sam and Max fandom. Luckily, there was more good than bad so that resolved rather quickly. It was so ridiculous. Mind you, my issue wasn't that not all fans liked the remaster but rather how they themselves decided to dictate on who are actual fans or not and because they hate something that everyone else should too mentality.
It was such a great feeling when I saw Xenoblade DE announced. Sure, X and 2 had happened since but it just felt good for the game that started it all got to share the new spotlight properly. No offense to the 3DS port, but this game was meant for bigger screens. The only thing I wish they'd included was the gravestones mechanic from 2 to make rematching unique monsters easier: as the only existing way is to reload the area until it decides to respawn.
@bluestreaker9242 No, it was open from the start. There was a sign in SpongeBob's house that stated this. Even Johnny's review mentioned the fast travel.

@@Droidsbane I saw that same amount of hatred ten fold when The Acolyte was first revealed, and whether you thought the show was pretty good, or just meh, I think one of the best things to come out of it was the Honest Trailer, which was one of the best for calling out the haters who just wanted it gone, and while it did get canceled (BOO), it's still staying on Disney+ (unlike the Willow series)
Kingdom hearts 2 final mix saved it's reputation and is largely the reason why people hail it as the best in the series and deserved an honorable mention
I feel like the Christian Whitehead Sonic ports are so good, they could be considered remasters. Especially for Sonic CD, since it cleans up a lot of the collision and slowdown issues that game used to have while adding Tails, a Time Attack and Boss Rush mode, and being able to switch between both the JP and US OSTs to have the best of both worlds.
for us germans, the sam and max remaster has one huge flaw: They removed the german dub. Which was really a shame. Bart Simpson as Max, Ned Flanders as Hug Bliss, RIck Sanches as Bosco. The german dub for season 1 and 3 was amazing (not so season 2, where they used different not as good voices for some reason). Sadly this would not be the first time, The ghostbusters ps3 remaster also got his dub removed... copyright is sometimes a huge bitch. Ironicly, battle for bikini bottom remaster is by that measurment the better one, since other than the original dub, the remaster was actual able to get the actual german dub show voices instead of replacements XD
Very interesting decision putting Sam and Max at number one. And that little clip at the end: I take it that next up will be either the top ten rock bosses or the top ten Earth bosses?
I did love the Battle for Bikini Bottom remaster: a lot of definite improvements for sure, I loved the QoL updates like the fast travel (I thought that was in the OG but maybe I'm wrong), improved Spongeball controls, and being able to Bubble Bash while in mid air, but I felt there was such a huge gap in potential that left a sour taste in my mouth. Like, example: They had every opportunity and the money and the time to reintroduce Robot Squidward and Patrick's Dream into the main game, and they just chose to shove it to the multiplayer mode that they didn't give two farts about. Ntm, in the multiplayer mode itself, sure there's multiple characters, but they all have the exact same moveset, and in the case of characters like Sandy, they have unique moves taken AWAY from them so they're just like everyone else. Lazy. They also changed up the boss fights to be easier, when I mean, c'mon, if my 7 year old brain could figure out to hit Robot Patrick in the back when there's a literal sign on his back saying "KICK ME", I don't need giant yellow text on my screen saying "NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!" And they did this for every single boss fight, even the mini bosses like Prawn or King Jellyfish. Like it's so unnecessary. Oh, and remember that Theatre from the original game? The one you had to pay 50,000 Shinies to get into to see Concept Art that didn't make it into the game because they were crunched and ran out of time? Guess what happens if you do that again? Guess. It's just still images. That you could literally take YOURSELF. From the game. For how long it takes to grind 50,000 of the damn shinies, they should have slapped the actual Spongebob MOVIE into this game, or at the very least a couple of classic fan beloved episodes like Band Geeks or Idiot Box or Sailor Mouth or something. And what do you get for 100%ing the game and getting all of the socks and all of the Golden Spatulas? A 30 second long "Yayyy you did it" cutscene with 0 voice acting that gives you absolutely nothing. "Oh but the original did that too!" Yeah--in ***2003***. This was 2020, finding all of those socks and accomplishing some of the challenges for those Golden Spatulas are NOT easy. We are LONG past the times of 100% completion doing jack and shit, actually put thought and effort into rewarding your players that love your game enough to 100% it.
I also liked Sonic Forces. My only gripe is they didn't include certain equips for the avatar character that allowed you recreate characters from other Sonic continuities. DESPITE the fact that the plot for Forces was pretty much SatAM Lite! (Tried making Tekno Canary anyway.) Also...fun fact: You know how the Zero Escape games have those branching paths and you can solve certain puzzles by using info from other endings/paths? Oddly enough...they did that much earlier for... ...a game from a Microzine collection for the Apple IIe. No...I am not kidding. One of those games was a CYOA type game, and you basically had to go through multiple playthroughs to get all the info for the true ending. IN THE APPLE IIE ERA!!!
...dude. Nier replicant ver. 1.22474487139 was such a MASSIVE upgrade to the original in terms of gameplay, tweaks to the spells to balance them to preference, drop rate changes so you didn't break the game in two, weapon balancing to the weight system so it makes a difference, sprinting, counters, quick steps, dlc content in the base game, cut content, a new ship to explore, a proper chapter with Kaine, one of everyone's favorite characters in gestalt and replicant, and at the end of the day the core foundation is still the _original_ just with *more content.*

My favorite of the four actually.
Sees the #1 slot. Somewhere, one Joey Turner wipes a tear from his eye and begins cheering. (Great list ya'll.)
Whoever that is you’re referring to, I can only believe that they’re one of the biggest fans of Sam & Max, and were overjoyed to see this top the list.
As someone for whom All-Stars was one of his first ever home console games, I salute you for giving it some love. Seriously, you've no idea how much I've wanted someone on UA-cam to at least acknowledge that game's existence 😊
Remasters are great as the developers make a game look how you thought it did as a child.
Jokes aside. Bringing back a game that was all hailed as a fantastic one is always a great time to see both new and old players get to experience it
Honestly I rather pay money for a game that I know is a good time than one that probably is just graphics the movie

@@mikkyasara5438 I've honestly always craved a Creature from the Krusty Krab Remaster. I like the game but it could use work
I wouldn’t mind a remake of Super Sponge. It was the first ever SpongeBob game I’ve ever played.

Take a shot for everytime that Josh pokes fun of Disney in this video
I'm honestly getting tired of people mocking Disney as of late, it's just as boring and unfunny as a Rob Schneider film, or whatever that dumb basketball comedy film was called that came out last year that was "the most offensive comedy of all time" by just copying jokes from better comedies and not understanding why they worked, or a Seltzer and Friedberg film
i don’t blame people for mocking Disney. Their track record & corporate decisions are really… excruciating to say the least.

8:16 Don’t forget that it even has an updated final boss which is even more awesome than how it was in the original. 😊
9:15 That jumpscare got me laughing.
Now you need to do a Top Ten collections.
And a Top Ten Compilations.

Hehe, remakes and remasters alike, I love seeing the return of games, even ones I don't like or don't appeal to me. Because I know someone is enjoying themselves and being happy.
And he acts like Last of Us 2 was out at this point xD
@CrazeeAdam His research team has been very on and off lately I noticed.
And at this point, Activision owned the IP.
They made the right call there
remaster: fresh coat of paint, a few qol upgrades, fixing some bugs, rolling in any dlc that came out after the original into the whole, and 'maybe' adding a few extra things here and there just to spice it up
remake: full overhaul, new engine, new gameplay system, new 'everything' the story may be the same but the game itself is brand new built from the ground up
there are some that blur the line, the crash bandicoot games are 'technicly' remakes but they were only done that way because the devs had no choice, the old master files were gone forcing them to work from the ground up, but they kept to the spirit of the originals and made them as close as they posibly could...soo yeah...
...okay, the Activision OOF combined with the (hopefully true) cancellation of Crash 5, blew chunks so hard... that HURT. That... that hurt.
Not to mention he played the big bad of Jessica Jones Season 1, which is now on Disney+ along with every other Marvel show that was exclusive to Netflix at the time
It’s almost Disney loves Doctor Who and they want to buy it alongside BBC but they couldn’t.

2: Really nice remaster
6: Better graphics than the original
7: Nice graphics
8: This Remaster was superb
9:Really solid trilogy
10: I Like Cosmic Shake.
Spoilers for the Number 1 segment
I’m guessing a certain Mr.
It's the most overlooked game in the series by far, and the remaster makes it finally bearable.
firstly, I completely agree with you about Sonic Forces, every time I tell someone I think it's good, I get dirty looks,
secondly, I had an idea for a potential list I got from the Gluckons from the Oddworld games, Top 10 Capitalist Bosses, or villains if it's easier to find entries, a list of the best villains that do whatever they want all for the sake of business
It's fine
Yeah, another capitalist villains would be the Shinra Company from Final Fantasy VII.

If you can, include one of his quotes from the game Hogs of War! (I've got a full set of the in-game character quotes on my channel, plus you can find his voicelines for Grimly in other videos elsewhere.)
A few more mentions:
I definitely think the recent classic Tomb Raider collection should be on here one of the best remasters I've ever experienced for a beloved classic

It was only released very recently, which may be a reason why it didn't feature on this list, but the Beyond Good and Evil Remaster is one of the better remasters I have played. Improved character models, some QoL changes and there is a unique side quest added to act as a teaser for the sequel. Also very reasonably priced.
As much as i loved seeing Grim Fandango and Full Throttle get those remasters, I dearly wish The Dig had also been remastered.
Awwww i was hoping epic Mickey Rebrushed was added on this list?
Another list of some games that are good remasters
Now I want to see remasters for the following games
Dot Hack (the originals)
Sly Cooper (Come on give me my Buddy's series back to glory dammit)
The Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster was genuinely such an incredible experience that it became one of the only games I've Platinumed
#10, Fast travel was always there in the original.
True, but, iirc, you had to unlock it by beating the final boss.
@bluestreaker9242 No, it was open from the start. There was a sign in SpongeBob's house that stated this. Even Johnny's review mentioned the fast travel.

13:00 Ah yes, the biggest improvement was giving the game a TWEWY mechanic. One that EVERY GAME SHOULD HAVE.
6:45 Agreed.
The live action Snow White is going to suck.
2:38-2:43 you do realize that was in the original game right?
I'm a big fan of Xenoblade Chronicles. I've got all 3 games for the Switch.
(Tried making Tekno Canary anyway.)
Also...fun fact: You know how the Zero Escape games have those branching paths and you can solve certain puzzles by using info from other endings/paths?
