3 1/2 years later I'm doing research and what do I see but an entry from Brian and his library of detailing information. Thanks again for everything you do pal 🍻
reload giving 6 months protection is a pretty huge stretch. As someone who's gone through 4-5 bottles of reload, it usually lasts about a month or so, a couple months if the vehicle is not driven daily.
Thanks Brian. Applied CQuartz to my silver 2004 Honda Insight (hybrid) a month ago. Performed paint correction with a 3M compound/polish, IPA prep, cQuartz, then Reload. This is my first nano application, on a car that is not garaged and sitting under big oak trees. I'm really impressed so far with the protection. Makes the washing cycle so much easier, the the slickness to touch is holding well. Can't wait to see where this combo stands after 6 months. Your process is helpful. Will have to try Essence next time when I do my other car.
So when you really know how to appreciate auto detailing, oh wow looking deep at the sparkles in the paint. Great job Brian...owner should be ecstatic.
Looks beautiful Brian. I own two black vehicles and they are what I learned detailing on. My wife’s 2011 Edge looks like a brand new vehicle thanks to you!
The best thing like I like about Uk 3.0 is the expanded temperature range. It's definitely much easier to use then the standard version. When topped with their product called Gliss you get amazing results
Have you had many issues with gliss as a top coat? I have heard finicky application? Depending on temp at application, if you cross hatch on app it removes some of what was laid down that started to cure and you get short lasting and spotty performance. If you apply in cooler weather it applies much better. Being in the south those are fewer days.
The black Range Rover looks great with the CarPro ceramic coating. I have a 10-year old Lexus RX-350 with metallic paint and I finished compounding with CarPro Reflect and then applied two coats of CQuartz UK. The paint looks amazing in the sunlight with incredible depth and gloss. I plan to maintain the CQUK with Reload and I expect to get several years of protection from the coating.
Excellent friggin work Brian! That sun shot did it. A lot of people skimp out on doing the lowest panels (sideskirts and things like that) without thinking that even if the consumer can’t exactly point out what it is, it makes the car pop that much more. That haze was not readily apparent until you showed the 50/50 shot after essence. Definitely darkened the paint and made the rest, previously flawless looking paint look bad in comparison.
Hello, does the carpro esscence expire or does the container have an expiration date once opened? How long does it last since I see that it has a label attached with the date of manufacture and nowhere do they explain that, thank you very much, excellent videos. Greetings.
Great video I just bought a new car and the paint is surprisingly in very good condition. I am most likely going to use Essence after claying the paint and the going to apply the Coating. Thank you for the video!!
I did the exact same process on my wife's brand new VW Golf 7.5 highline in August last year. I used an orange hexlogic pad with the essence and wow what a result. 12 months on and with only a couple of applications of reload and it's like i applied the coating yesterday. They say that the original Cquartz, as you're using here, isn't as effective as CQUK but I'm not so sure. I'll get more than two years out of it easily.
Question- if using carpet essence gloss enhancer, do you still need to use their eraser before the ceramic? Will the ceramic adhere given the essence has oils?
With you being in the Northeast would Cquartz UK be better for protection from road salts and other corrosives? Or is that just similar and just meant for colder weather application?
Apex Detail in your experience what would you recommend for a prosumer coating? I live in a dusty hot desert summer and a severe winter wonderland with lots of salt. My truck is a daily driver and spends time off-road as well. Been looking at Gtechniq CSL+EXO V4 or Carpro UK 3.0 with maybe gliss, or Gyeon Synchro Kit.
So you did essence with lake country white pad, followed by coating and reload? Not sure about the polishing part you did, as I would like to do the same..
Doesn't Cquartz advise against using IPA/Prep after Essence? BTW a little tip, if you notice high spots even hours after applying, just reapply CQuartz on that spot again, the solvents will easily remove the high spot. I can confirm this for 24 hours later on black coat.
Hi great video👍🏼👍🏼...always learning something new from you. Quick question: I bought car pro essence and will be using Meguiar’s foam pads to enhance the gloss before I coat with cquartz. I have the Meguiar’s yellow pad and the white pad...which one would you recommend to use? I was thinking the yellow?
Brian ... is it best to stick with one product line when correcting? Or is it ok to use other products in conjunction? Like different waxes and compounds.
Hi Brian. Thanks for great and informative videos. Am i correct in thinking you only have to use "Reload" after this and no more spray waxes or detailer?
Bryan! I would love to come spend a couple days or a week in the shop with you! Would love to learn some things from someone that is experienced! I’m in the works of starting my own detail business been doing friends and family vehicles for awhile now getting ready to advertise and dive head first into the business! Would love to come out before I do that though. I will pay you whatever you want for your knowledge! Would love to just watch you around the shop ask questions help you around the shop whatever! We could figure something out! Could be a hole mother business venture for you maybe? If not still would love to come out and learn! Much love Andrew!
The video was awesome !!! I am totally sold on their products as I have used different ones at different times but now its time for my start to finish on a 1966 Mustang I have restored. For the first time I used their Clearcut compound and was blown away. My bottles of 3M 1,2,3 are going to gather dust from here on out. Question - you never mentioned what you actually used as a wax and grease remove after the essence ? I don't want to use anything to strong but want to be totally prepped for the Cquartz. I would normally uses alcohol in a spray bottle but what do you suggest ? Thanks and thank you for the video
The RANGE ROVER came out great Brian! My question: how much of the ceramic coating did you use to cover the whole vehicle? I noticed it comes in two sizes, a 30ml and 50ml...
Is the product called "CQuartz Nano" or is it just the CQuartz / CQuartz UK? I'd like to try this; I like the idea of a long working time. I have Reload as a standalone protectant and it seems like a good product.
Great video! When you say the coatings offer 2 years of protection, what exactly are they protecting against? Do they resist scratches, or do they perform more like a wax? Thanks
Self cleaning properties, Protect against etching from bird dropping, pine sap, water spots. They reduce scratching...but are not scratch proof. The improve gloss 100 percent. They guard against chemicals in between 2-12 on the pH scale. To name a few.
Okay so this has been the question for me. I have a 20 year old car, its paint is corrected and free of swirls. It has a bunch of rock chips and other minor issues. Is it still worth getting a ceramic coating?
Great video on the application and leveling of the coating. The results speak for themselves. I have been playing around with many of the consumer coatings and Cquartz (both versions) are at the top of my list. Essence is another nice polish and just adds that extra pop prior to a Cquartz coating. Also great tip on using a prep wipe after Essence. I do the same and recommend it as well. Looking forward to more of your coating videos.
Apex Detail I like Crystal Serum Light. It’s much easier to apply that’s for sure along with it being slicker. I do like the hydrophobic properties of Cquartz a bit better. Very close call between the two brands. Gyeon Syncro is cool. The top coat Skin is pretty impressive in terms of slickness and hydrphobics.
Brian, Can I ask you how many hours total you put into the Land Rover? The transformation was amazing. Wash, Decontaminate, compound, polish and ceramic coating.
Your thoughts on using Essence with other coatings like G Techniq's Crystal Serum Light? Any experiences? I did my daughters husbands car last week and used Essence as the finishing polish and then applied Crystal Serum Light and Exo on top of it. It came out stunning. I'm hoping it adheres right. It's an experiment. So far so good. I'm a big fan of the GTechniq coatings because they've held up well through 2 Ohio winters and still going strong on my wife and mine vehicles but I've read and heard good things about Essence. I like it as a last step polish. No one has any good info on mixing the products.
Roger Baron I have used CarPro Essence prior to coating 2 vehicles, one with CSL topped with Eco V3, and one topped with 2 coats of Eco V3. The coating have last very well, very surprised with the Eco V3 on how well it survived a salty Canadian winter. In both cases, I used CarPro panel wipe before coating. I just coated a third car this weekend using Essence and Eco V4, but can't talk about durability on that one yet. On the other hand, I coated a Lexus and we years ago with CQuartz and had some trouble with application as the product flash time very depending on environmental conditions, which required me to get the polisher back out on a couple of panels. Also, the CQuartz did not survive a Canadian winter!
Why do All UA-cam detailers only show what they are doing on a flat panel...? I would much rather see you polish and coat in and around those letters on the hood... But besides that, if the Essence is a primer for the coating, why wipe it off with and IPA ?
Yes indeed....If you find the right person to apply them...that will not rip you off. They are beneficial. But some applicatiors way over price and scam maintenance packages.
The main difference is that Cquatz contains Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) as well as Silicon Dioxide (SiO2). It is often referred to as Classic or TiO2. The TiO2 gives it more reflectivity and stain resistance. Looks great on lighter colored paints. CQUK 3.0 is the harder of the two coatings and has been recently updated to have better stain resistance. CQUK 3.0 is also more wipe on wipe off as it flashes faster than Cquartz Classic/TiO2.
Great post Mike. Yes... I do a half a panel then wipe off. Gets tacky just a bit quicker. As for durability... cant confirm. Have half my work truck coated with both. But its only been 3 months. Stay tuned!😁
@@apexdetail85 I just did my car with a Torq. It’s not good for deep cutting , it will stall . But also , it works good for zero swirl marks . Works well with mild cut and polish 👍

Awesome results Brian, What I would like to see is your customer(s) reaction when they come to pick their vehicle up after you have done your magic!

Brian ... is it best to stick with one product line when correcting? Or is it ok to use other products in conjunction? Like different waxes and compounds.
I like staying within product lines. They play well together.
I figured as much
Do you go over whole care with essence before your wipe off with the prep spray on towel?
How do you like hydro 2 compared to reload? I like the application method after. Maintenance wash
Do you do 2x time up and down and left and right passes.
Will the IPA remove the fillers from the Carpro essence? Thank you.

The RANGE ROVER came out great Brian! My question: how much of the ceramic coating did you use to cover the whole vehicle? I noticed it comes in two sizes, a 30ml and 50ml...
Why the ipa after essence if they call it cquartz primer ?
Is it a must to use an IPA wipedown after this with it being a primer?
Is the product called "CQuartz Nano" or is it just the CQuartz / CQuartz UK? I'd like to try this; I like the idea of a long working time. I have Reload as a standalone protectant and it seems like a good product.

Can i skip the coating and go straight to reload or other sealant?
Watch out for those Range Rover letters the silver strips right off.
Great video Brian. I read that after using essence you can just go straight to the coating...so no need for eraser. What do you recommend?
Correct. No need to wipe down.
thanks so much 👍🏻
"I have so many layers that I wait 48 hours before applying Reload."

Could I use essence plus + reload to my car with ceramic coating?
Essence plus helps fix the ceramic coating. Shines it up a little more after a year or so. Then put more reload on top
Can i put cancoat after essence

How does Cquartz compare to Cquartz UK 3.0?
The main difference is that Cquatz contains Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) as well as Silicon Dioxide (SiO2). It is often referred to as Classic or TiO2. The TiO2 gives it more reflectivity and stain resistance. Looks great on lighter colored paints. CQUK 3.0 is the harder of the two coatings and has been recently updated to have better stain resistance. CQUK 3.0 is also more wipe on wipe off as it flashes faster than Cquartz Classic/TiO2.
