    I bought the Advent X 1x10 setup for my old Rockhopper. The cassette came in a few more pieces than yours plus a spacer ring. When I get the cassette finally torqued down, I'll be a lot happier. Same setup on my girlfriend's old Specialized and runs like a champ...and for a very budget friendly price. Nice video!

    I like 11-46....
    What l really like about microshift is the way you can mix and match shifters and other components and the reasonable prices and good quality....

    The ten speed advent X is hard to beat at that price point.
    But the ten or eleven speed Deore with a M5120 clutched derailleur is not far off the same price, in fact a bit cheaper so the win goes to Shimano .
    I have never had issues with any of my Shimano equipment while the Advent stuff is still a bit unknown .

    good work, I took a different path. I sold my 2019 Marlin 6 [exact same one shown] and bought a new Talon 2 with Microshift 1x9. cost to convert to 1x9,10 would have cost about the same except I got a new bike with different color for a change. so far without 1k miles, I really do like the Advent. no issue at all and has been reliable and have not even done any tuning/maintenance since first assembling/adjusting.

      I have the same bike, 2021 Giant Talon 2. It's a great bike.

    Would like to have watched you make all the adjustments. I just ordered mine and looking forward to setting it up.

      I am no pro and adjusting it, but out of the box all I had to do was tighten the barrel adjuster on the shifter a little bit and and it shifted perfectly

    I never see any review comment on the chainring size that gives the best range with the AdventX for good uphill + downhill gearing.

    Greetings...if I may ask, what kind of rear Hub are you using? Is this hub setup good for all "1 by 9 or 10 speed"? Getting some ideas, as eventually I'll be doing a build from the Frame up. Great job on the Marlin. Cheers.

    Was the cable already fully ready with its plastic housing or did you have to buy the housing and thread the cable through it?

    I have a question. if I put a crankset for 1x11 I will have problems?

    • @outdoorsandmoretv1445
      @outdoorsandmoretv1445  3 роки тому +2

      You would have to mess arround with adding more or less spacers on your bottom bracket and/or changing how you mount the chainring.

      Just try. Honesty 1 x 10 no issue. Adventx good and long. I don't need any hype like Grx 810 group set. Like my friend hype me to get grx groupset but climbing hill they no power leg.

      I ordered the Shimano Deore 170 mm 1x10 or 11 crankset and I am wondering how much fiddling it may take or maybe none at all. I read from several sources the 1x12 cranksets will work, but chainring is different with 1x12 setups, which doesn't seem like a big deal as long as the chain does what it is suppose to.

    Is this compatible in 3x setup?

    • @outdoorsandmoretv1445
      @outdoorsandmoretv1445  Рік тому +1

      I might work in a 3x but the Chain would have lots of slack in it to be able to fit over the 3rd and 10tj gear

      @@bikechowfunyou can just remove the front derailleur and then select the chainring you want to use. Start with the biggest, and then you can cut the chain and move the the next biggest until you find the chainring that works best.

      @@bikechowfun also, if you are interested in the AdventX, many find using an 11 speed chain to work better because it is thinner and allows more clearance between the cogs. KMC chains are highly regarded.

      @@collegeofsocialsciencesuhm2259 I'd lean to a non riveted crank and chainring assembly so I could try different chainrings to see which I like best for the type of terrain I ride on 🙂👍 Chainrings are cheap, so you can buy a few to try 😁 I see many for around $20.
