I had an African history professor who was actually from Africa. This was in college, if any of you went to Miami University of Oxford Ohio from about 2013 to 2000 I want to say 16? Not entirely sure, you were in the history department and you had to go find Dr. Pryor, you would find his office directly to the right of Doc Pryor. Anyhow there were two things I knew about this guy, why was that photographic memory, I literally show a picture of my brother, because I found out somehow that he had had my brother, and he remembered my brother, older brother, by the way. The second, and this one I never told his face, was that he had a voice like Rafiki. by the way, the class that my brother nearly fun? Research methods, one of the driest boring classes you can ever take, especially if you’re not going into history as a profession. I mean, there’s only so much you can use to dress up an extremely dry piece of meat

Like many of the movies from the 90s, at least the animated ones, he grows on you. I appreciate his nonchalant, as opposed to every other villain from this time. Who is, shall we say a bit overdramatic when you go to read the Percy Jackson books, I imagine, Jim James Woods here as the Hades for that too, although I don’t think he is in the live action series that Disney has since made. He was also the voice of Dr. Lipschitz from the Rugrats franchise, Chair Face from The Tick cartoon just to name a few notable roles.
@@deborahbeatty OOH! He also did the voice of the 'Maison de Loon' guy in the Beauty and the Beast movie too! The one that Gaston hires to try and lock up Maurice! That deep creepy voice is unmistakable!
Yes, Robin needed to be #1. However, I disagree that his character as Batty, with just as much improvs, in Fern Gully was even better because the MESSAGES within Fern Gully would not have hit home if he hadn't played that lab-tested character so perfectly and endearingly. I think other great singing actors could have pulled off the Genie, but it was Robin's acting and improvs in Fern Gully that made the audience truly care about things being done and hurting creatures because of our actions.
All of these are great voice actors, particularly Eddie Murphy as Mushu and Robin williams as Genie, but this list missed the voice actors from the Road to El Dorado, Kevin Klein I think and I can’t remember the other guys name, but they were outstanding together.

OMG! I've seen all of these Disney movies and they're all my favorites, including the voice actors! Billy Joel and James Earl Jones, including Jeff Bennett, Kristen Schaal, Seth McFarlane, Patrick WarBurton, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, Eddie Murphy, Mel Blanc and Kath Soucie are my most favorite actors/actresses! Seth and Patrick are HILARIOUS as Peter and Joe in Family Guy!
I’m going to say all of them because that was such a childhood back in the 90s when I was younger and can’t forget about the TV series is well with some of the other voice actors.
Tom Hanks did a fantastic job voicing the cowboy hero Woody in the whole ‘Toy Story’ franchise, let’s hope the 5th one will be the LAST after the 30th anniversary of the franchise…
Great job on this list of top 20 voice actors and RIP to the some of the great and talented people we have lost over the years they maybe gone but never forgotten 👍❤️😢
I am glad Susan Egan was mentioned. Her Megara is one of my favorite Disney animated characters. That character's wit and slightly jaundiced view of the world really appealed to me, for some reason.
James Earl Jones as Muffasa really should have made the list. No other voice could have given that character such a commanding feeling. It was so impactful that they used him for it again in the live action.
Was there ever any doubt who would be Number 1? Robin Williams will forever be the GOAT. Also, no one can play are more entertaining evil guy like Tim Curry! Who is also the GOAT.
Tony Jay was a true legend, with a voice you just pick out from anywhere. From Frolly (Hunchback of Notre Dame), the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain series, and his fantastic performance as Megabyte in the ReBoot series.
Tim Curry absolutely slays as Hexxus in Fern Gully. I grew up watching that movie on VHS, but I found Hexxus so frightening that I always had to skip his song and dialogue. Watching it as an adult I can fully appreciate how incredibly talented Tim Curry is. What an incredible voice and acting talent he is.
James Earl Jones. Though it wasn't animated, he was the voice of Darth Vader. Not only did he bring Mufasa to life in The Lion King, but he brought us the Daedric Lord Molag Bal, the main villain for years in The Elder Scrolls Online, one of the biggest and longest running multiplayer games out there (I am a daily player of this awesome game). James Earl Jones was a master narrator, and his list of narration pieces is too long to list here but all are fantastic! He was simply the best. RIP, James.
I am so sad, that you all don’t know the German acting performances in the 90th, they are legendary. Nowadays they are not good at all, but back in the 90th they were just the best. To this day I just watch the German and Italian performances of the 90th because i just prefers them over the OV ones. If you don’t believe me, watch the performances of Alexandra Wilcke (as Pocahontas and Nala), Jana Werner as (Belle, Anastasia and Odette) and Hendrick Bruch (Moses and Quasimodos singing voices). The Singing Voice of Mulan and the Austrian Arielle is also GOAT as well as the German version of “hellfire” and “Not one of us”. For me, the German villain songs are in general more powerful. For the Italian part I recommend “ah whole new world” and everything from “the prince of Egypt”.
Mary Kay Bergman didn't just pass away. She delt with severe anxiety that lead to stress and physical symptoms. All of which culminated with her commiting suicide.
The late great Robin Williams & James Earl Jones for sure!!! But lest we forget about the underrated role of Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas voiced by the incredible Linda Hunt!!!
I am an ace but Curry's portrayal of Hexxus almost, ALMOST makes me feel things. Also Frollo is one of the best villains, but I still can't unhear him as Virgil in Mighty Max. Transient properties being what they are: Virgil lusts for Esmerelda.
Little known fact, the song "Once upon a December" from Anastasia had 2 different versions. The movie version and the soundtrack version. Both sung by different singers. IMO, the soundtrack version by Deana Carter is the better version.
Also, though , not from the 90's, Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper are Rocket. And lets not forget Andy Serkis as Gollum. While not animated, all of these roles were brought to life by great voice actors.
BTW, you guys are referencing four of my top five favorite movies of all time five of my top 10 of my top 10. Namely, because I was always different, and therefore, I never saw anyone like me, so I kind of movie that show that I could be different and still be accepted as a human being Was awesome. Grows on you, I mean, it’s a kid, but it just grows on you, throw, had me dying of laughter. Mulan also grew on me, if only because her story mirror mine in a way, the older I got the more it made sense. if I haven’t said already, I’m not exactly conventional. I was a bookworm for an early age, I literally had a stuffed animal that looks like chip, the hunchback of Notre Dame mirrored some of my struggles, while I don’t have his profound deformity, the disability I do have is profound enough to make it so that some people do shun me, more because of the marinate fear as opposed to anything I can do or can’t do for that matter. And Genie just gets better with age. Many Disney movies are like that, there are jokes that young kids understand and then there are jokes that adults understand, however, there are some characters that make more sense the older you get, I’ve already explained my conundrum, but the genie is another one, Yes, he’s funny when you’re a kid, he’s more hilarious once you’re older and understand some of the references. Rest in peace, sir. By the way, lion King does freak out anyone who is a Troy tuned and has a bit of a Star Wars fandom, The word son, you transpose an image of Darth Vader in cloud city over top Mufasa, it doesn’t compute, there is a cognitive dissonance there. I was loved, had a couple more. All the people who voice all the dinosaurs from land before time, although I think that was the 80s, so I think that predates these. Whoever did the voices for Balto, if you want discrimination that isn’t Tarzan, go find that one. I also remember watching something called Fievel American tail. It taught me more about immigrants moving the United States than any book could have. The secret of NIMH is one of my favorites, I’m also a bit of an anime geek, I have seen most of the Pokémon movies, however, to my mind, the best one was the first one, I absolutely adore it score and the voice acting is phenomenal please pardon dictation errors.
Anyone else just recently within the last 3ish years find out that it WASNT Alan Rickman as Scar but actually Jeremy Irons yet they portrayed brothers in two separate "Die Hard" films?

I just learned that Robin Williams did voicework in "FernGully"
Yes, can't imagine anyone else as Anastasia.
Tony Jay was perfect for the voice role of Judge Claude Frollo
Robin Williams was literally the voice of my childhood. 💔
Matthew Broderick as Simba
Tom Hanks as Woody
Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear
Eddie Murphy as Mushu
Robin Williams as Genie
Vin Diesel as The Iron Giant
So cool
Thnx 🌹🌹
Ralph Fiennes is scarily good at playing villains!
RIP Angela Lansbury!
Classic Tim!!!
Of course Robin Williams would be in the first place as the Genie. It always happen.
You left out Kirsten Dunst and Lacey Chabert as the voices (speaking and singing) of YOUNG Anastasia
I’m going to say all of them because that was such a childhood back in the 90s when I was younger and can’t forget about the TV series is well with some of the other voice actors.
"Dishonor on you! Dishonor on your cow..." (10/27/2024)
Tom Hanks did a fantastic job voicing the cowboy hero Woody in the whole ‘Toy Story’ franchise, let’s hope the 5th one will be the LAST after the 30th anniversary of the franchise…
It should have ended after 3 ends
NUMBER ONE. AS HE SHOULD BE.
I LOVED THE GENIE!
@jfess1911 "Sometimes, it's better to be alone. Nobody can hurt you." The FEELS... (10/27/2024)
I wish I could take a time machine back to the 90s when all those DreamWorks and disney movies were hitting hard. must have been a magical time.
James Earl Jones as Muffasa really should have made the list. No other voice could have given that character such a commanding feeling. It was so impactful that they used him for it again in the live action.
The Iron Giant ❤❤❤❤beyond perfect
Was there ever any doubt who would be Number 1? Robin Williams will forever be the GOAT.
Also, no one can play are more entertaining evil guy like Tim Curry! Who is also the GOAT.
Tony Jay was a true legend, with a voice you just pick out from anywhere. From Frolly (Hunchback of Notre Dame), the Elder God in the Legacy of Kain series, and his fantastic performance as Megabyte in the ReBoot series.
Happy saturday afternoon, Jen, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
You knew who was going to be #1 before you clicked on the video. Even if you didn’t, you did.
8:36 Timon and Pumbaa are cute. 🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🐊🐊🐊🦓🦓🐗🐗🐗🐗🐘🐘🐘🦏🦏🦏🦒🦒🦛🦛🦛🦛🦍🦍🐆🐆🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥Simba and Nala are still awesome, Zazu is still cute, the hyenas are cute, etc.
Vin Diesel did a great job voicing the Iron Giant 25 years ago. 😁
25. It was released in 1999
“Supermaaan”
@@KARDisney Just a year or 2 before I was born.
@@KARDisneyI fixed my mistake, my bad. 😅
You should have specified "90's AMERICAN/DISNEY/PIXAR movies (except for South Park)." Parochial.
3:23 Freaked me out as a child, but loved that movie.
Jim Cummings - Literally everything
Tim Curry absolutely slays as Hexxus in Fern Gully. I grew up watching that movie on VHS, but I found Hexxus so frightening that I always had to skip his song and dialogue. Watching it as an adult I can fully appreciate how incredibly talented Tim Curry is. What an incredible voice and acting talent he is.
This top is amazing, I love Robin Williams
Nobody who has seen Blackadder was surprised at Rowan Atkinson's performance for Zazu: Zazu and Blackadder are almost the same character!
Vin Diesel as the Iron Giant really shook me up
James Earl Jones. RIP, James.
18:07 S'far as I'm concerned, that's ALL Scar's GOOD FOR!!!
When I saw this title, there was only 1 correct answer for the top spot! He’s big, blue, and vocally packed a punch
Like literally the second I thought of Iron Giant you said it only two seconds later. 😮
It still makes me smile that JEJ showed up to record Mufassa in a suit and tie. He was a gentleman
Tim Curry 1000% should have been higher up!!!
The late great Robin Williams & James Earl Jones for sure!!! But lest we forget about the underrated role of Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas voiced by the incredible Linda Hunt!!!
Yesss's Wooooo'o !!!!!
Do a top 20 Best - Spanish Dubbed - Voice Acting Performances in 90's movies!!!
As soon as I seen Iron Giant was 20 on this list I knew there was gonna be some "heavy hitters" on this list and I wasn't wrong
Classic Tim
I am an ace but Curry's portrayal of Hexxus almost, ALMOST makes me feel things.
Also Frollo is one of the best villains, but I still can't unhear him as Virgil in Mighty Max. Transient properties being what they are: Virgil lusts for Esmerelda.
Thought his name was Ralph Fiennes. Not Ray, 🤔 14:16
He pronounces his name “Rafe” which is what she’s saying.
Tony Jay should’ve ranked higher.
Driver as Jane was perfection.💯
Honorable mentions: James Earl Jones as Mufasa & Jack Palance as Rothbart
Are you also going to do this list, but with 2000s and 2010s animated movies?
Robin Williams. One of the greatest entertainers that ever existed.
I love tim curry in FernGully he did awesome amazing job doing at song in the movies
