How malnutrition affects economic development

  • India is the largest democratic republic in the world. Over 95% of the 1.2 billion people have Aadhaar cards and almost all of them have cellphones. Yet, tens of millions of under-five children are malnourished in some form.
    The health (and wealth) of a nation depends on the wellbeing of its people. Malnutrition can reduce nearly 8% of a country's economic growth.
    It is only through a collaborative and unified approach of all stakeholders that we can aim to end the vicious intergenerational cycle of malnutrition and work towards building a better future for our nation and our children.
