Are you coming to Paul Bunyan Show in Ohio in October?

My first time there was in the late 90s but I haven't been in many years. PBS (and about 5-6 other industry/trade shows) are on my calendar every year, but I've been too busy to attend any for the last several years. Even missed Expo Richmond this year, which is right down the road from me. One of these days I'll get back on board -- I miss the goodie bags!

@@Lumber_Jack it would be cool to meet you. There are a few channels I try to catch and yours is one.
We have a booth right in the middle of the action. Near Woodmizer and Logrite. We will be boiling maple sap, giving away samples, and we have a fun publicity stunt we will be pulling with syrup.
This is the show for the UA-camr... no doubt.

@@BissellMapleFarm Sounds great -- maple syrup is my favorite food group (spent a lot of time in the Vermont sugarbush in my younger days).

@@Lumber_Jack do they make maple syrup in Vermont? 😉

@@BissellMapleFarm I think they actually import most of it from New Hampshire and Maine. All the tubing and pipes in the woods are for show.

The mounting hardware your using of zinc steel deck Screws instead of using stainless steel or galvanized hex head bolts & nuts seems even long screws aren't beefy enough? it looked awfully flimsy hypothetically ex: the screws endurung the abuse a family with teen age boys might put out to bow of a boat bumping into dock accidentally? I don't feel I could trust those small diameter decking screws? a 3/8th or 1/3" diameter x 5" or 6" lengths using washers & Nyloc nylon inserted locking nuts would do the truck nicely. I install similar aluminum dock ladders that travel vertically on winch but have L forks with 2 boat bunk skids to hold & lift kayaks, paddle boards, canoes or even small aluminum John boats or yacht dinghys
have you thought about using at least a galvanized or better yet stainless steel hex bolt 3/8 diameter or half inch diameter buy whatever length of four or five inches I'm guessing to drill a hole through the dock pass the hex head through that hole into a piece of quarter inch thick aluminum angle one on the back of the handrails and one on the front face of the so so all four bolts are going through top decking & a angle backer plate laid up against the joists which support top deck boards. This distributes strain evenly across a large area of the deck joists underneath decking opposed straining pinch points of top deck boards. across dock structure opposed to screws into top dock decking boards only?

I used ceramic coated timber screws (equivalent to 5/16" lag bolts) and went into the joists underneath the deck (which are true 2" thick rough sawn marine lumber). I don't expect those will ever pull out -- the ladder would probably break first.
