- Hoover Police are set to hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. to update the case surrounding Carlee Russell.
Russell vanished Thursday, July 13, after calling 911 and her brother’s girlfriend to say she was stopping on Interstate 459. She said she was checking on a toddler she said she spotted walking along the interstate wearing only a white T-shirt and diaper.
After two days of fear and frantic searches, Russell showed up at her family’s Hoover home on Saturday, July 15. Ring camera video from neighbors showed Russell walking down the sidewalk alone before she got to house where she lives with her parents and banging on the front door.
Today’s press conference is expected to possibly shed more light on Russell’s actions up until she disappeared and in the 48-plus hours she was missing.

I believe her parents knew about the hoax starting at least the day after. They seemed to be one step ahead of the cops in every situation. They said her phone pinged in homes behind tree line, not interstate and directly them there. Then they drove to Atlanta, on a tip. Then they rushed to Red Roof Inn just hours prior to her skipping down the street going home. Come on. Something stinky with their involvement.
They may not have known in the beginning but they knew long before she returned home. And they certainly knew there was no abduction in their tv interview.

I believe Karlee parents are really strict and have a curfew for her regardless of her age. This was retaliation to her parents and that’s the reason she left the car on the highway. She was running away from the stress in her household.

People really need to have some grace. This woman may be telling the truth - a trucker could’ve used their own kid as bait thus not reported missing, or maybe she had a psychotic break or onset of schizophrenia. Maybe someone in her life has been abusing her, and she tried to get away, but too much attention made her come back. Everyone is so hateful in the comments. The truth may be tragically sad and not at all sinister. The police should continue their investigation, and people should pray for her until actual facts deem otherwise.

I'm glad she wasn't harmed but she should be completely ashamed of herself for what she put her loved ones n her community through. Alot of people had way more than prayers invested in this situation, all though there seemed to be a lot of people across the nation praying for this girl too. I think we were entitled to some explanation but I know we won't get full details ever. Her parents will not put her on blast. I just don't understand people. A mental break can't be helped, planning it is not a mental break though.
