I definitely thought 6.4 high to a 6.5 low would be his range for this meet and he did a great job winning the event with 6.52. Noah's race execution was very nice and I think isn't talked about a lot following the conclusion of meet. He stayed with the pack from the gun and didn't have to fight all the way to win. That to me shows he's working very hard to correct his start and staying with the field in the first 20-30m. If this can be translated to his outdoor running along with staying healthy and consistent, it will be very difficult for three people to get him off the podium in the 100m and 200m at the Tokyo Worlds. It has been a good two meets for Lyles so far in 2025. BTW, Quincy Wilson has great shot of making the 400m Team. He looked amazing, I felt that he dog walked that field of pros, low-key.
Ofcourse, every year will be different for every athlete. Its ok to sometimes get excited for a meet and acknowledge that. Does'nt mean the athletes didn't perform well.
@raquelcarter3350 He said he was gonna PB and didn't. I don't think that takes away from the time he put up though. He ran the fastest indoor 60 of the year so far and didn't even look that pressed.
@edabakah Maybe Noah should do less talking. People are going by what he said so when he doesn't deliver they will say something. Kishane traveled 32 hrs to Asia and it was his first indoor meet in my book that's impressive
@raquelcarter3350 Kishane had a good race and I think he can still go faster, especially if he can a get a little more upright during top end but Noah had a faster time. And all I've been told is the times matter and none of the other stuff does.
@edabakah people love the underdog bottomline, last week Noah had a track meet and no one was talking about him. For most people humility and drive goes a long way and Kishane checks all those boxes. Noah is a great athlete but he is not everyone's cup of tea.
People gotta realize now of these guys have done speed work, they started training October….Noah did enough to win, the college guys are going to be sharper since they started training August/September The only using 5 lanes was so dumb, should have used all 8….
Yea I did need to adjust my expectations especially with the longer season. And to be fair, the distance performances were actually really really good to be honest. 5 lanes cause of walk outs. I mean you liked the athlete entrances right? 🤣
Yea that makes sense. And he is not running a full indoor season so likely just working on some specific technical things here and not thinking about running fast anyway.
Its because last year he was peaking for World Indoors. Hence why he was clocking low 6.4s early season. Had he not been training for that last year, he'd have been running the same times he is now.
The middle distance races were better than the sprints imo. (Cam Myers with an Australian NR in the 3000m!) I was disappointed Trey Cunningham didn't finish. Hopefully it was just because he was rusty and he will be back to his usual good form in his next competition.
Yea that distances races were great. Mens and Women's 3000m plus mens and Women's Mile. But honestly, the prints and hurdles were really good across the board. The problem was I was comparing to 2024 a bit, which had extremely fast times.
Didn't watch the full meet and build up. Just the race. Not using the 2 lanes just for the intros is Dragon ball Fan base levels of stupidity. Why the hell would people want to see LESS athletes in the finals just for intros. Come on man
Noah is the king until someone takes him off the throne
What throne haha?

maturing is realising that athletes aren’t going to pr every year and that’s okay

Records don't matter when it comes to Noah Lyles... when he lines up with other accomplished ppl he just wins man 😭 lol aura
Noah's 6.52 time wasn't impressive but many thought Kishane's 6.56 was a week ago. Make it make sense.
Noah was bragging that he was gonna do 6.4 lol

This is a weird season so athletes preparations have been adjusted.
It's not like anything really went *wrong* either

It was alway going to be hard for noah to challenge that time for last year, but give world in September, it probably intentional

Regardless of the big names at this meet i wasnt expecting anything too crazy tbh, I just view it as a season opener and lower my expectations.
Noah lyles is The fastest man on earth, The Sprint king 👑
Press on Mr.Jones ,press on . 200 meter loading for Julien Alfred.
Terrence Jones is going to be a problem once he gets going this year. And yea, Julien's 200m is just going to get better and better

Why were u expecting something from that race so early in the season. Marcel won his gold because the stars were aligned he hasn't done squat since
TB looks like he stumbled early on
Richards needs to take his u know what back to the 200m
Where is Kishane Thompson
could have shut down his season and is back home training.
