Just wanted to make mention of a mistake I made! I somehow put 2016 as the year Eduardo Cunha celebrated their Pokemon World Championship victory instead of 2022. Many apologies for any anger or confusion this might have brought anyone! 🙏
i just love the idea that in world the player is actually blind and everyone around them is like, "holy shit they're good at this despite their disability!"
Blind runs are PHENOMENALLY cool, but I hope it does highlight to people just how poorly optimised many games are for blind/low vision players, and encourages people to call for better accessibility! The run highlights some of the positive accessible aspects of Pokemon (e.g. tiles making different sounds, attack animations, etc.) but the game is in dire need of some text to speech functionality in order to make it truly playable.
This is just insane. I guess the movement and the world being consistent makes it doable, but the battles having factors like damage rolls, crits and secondary effects is another thing that would make this difficult. It’s so insane that he was actually able to do it
Blind runs are cool, but keeping track of all the different parallel universes that gets created from doing blind AND DEAF speed run is incredible. I don't remember who it was that did it, but I genuinely don't think anyone else is going to do that.
The video is very interesting! Learning about Pokémon things wether it be speedruns or obscure game knowledge is always a joy to listen to. However I would suggest that when you mention how certain movements have certain sound effects, you should play those specific sound effects, it would make your point more clear and show the viewers something they probably overlooked. Love the video!
Ive been binging your videos they are all very well dont not overedited you stay on topic and have a great voice for the narration, keep it up and I know you're gonna make it big!
5:54 not just speedrunners call it tweaking. the glitch itself was discovered a decade and a half ago and named tweaking, it’s just that speedrunners adopted the glitch for speedruns, they didn’t name it it’s not a speedrun exclusive glitch. were you not around in 2007?
Heart gold was my first ever pokemon game as it was a bundle with my Ds. I was so young and had no idea what I was doing so I followed a UA-cam walkthrough copying their team. Lance was a pain to do as I remember having to leave my DS on overnight while charging just to make sure I won.
My personal favorite HeartGold challenge was a no healing no non-mandatory items challenge I did a couple years back took me many hours and numerous resets
This is really impressive, but it feels a bit silly to hear "he geniusely turned on battle animations" when there was no other reason to turn them off in the first place (other than to save time)
@@PulseEffects exactly! That's why I figured the smart move would've been keeping battle animations on all throughout the run (if I'm missing any piece of information, please correct me)
I was trying to think of an example to illustrate what I mean. Imagine a person who challenged themselves to smash a rock open, and they do really well using their own fists, but at the end they decide to pick up a hammer (that was there the whole time) and the crowd watching calls them a master thinker for that
@@ghostlyfieldclub2930 the thing is, to save time is literally the main reason to do just about anything in a speedrun, that's why it wasn't just a regular blindfolded run. Just about everything done in this run, including the tweaking, is for the sole purpose of saving time. To talk about your fist/hammer example, if it was not just a "rock smasher challenge", but a "speed rock smasher challenge" and the only available hammer was so slow and heavy it would take forever to use it, then yes knowing when exactly to use your faster fists and when to use the safer but awfully slow hammer would require good thinking.
Jokes on you, I never played with game sound on so Pokémon cries are still something I don’t know anything about despite playing these games all my life!

Thanks a bunch for covering my run! This was a fun challenge for me and I hope to improve my time eventually!
I certainly couldn’t do it
Your skill is amazing!
Bro, that time is nigh unbeatable
feels more like a hey i found this on YT, lemme add 7 mins real quick by talking
ur a wizard brother
i just love the idea that in world the player is actually blind and everyone around them is like, "holy shit they're good at this despite their disability!"
and then they proceed to walk into a tree..
Thanks for covering this awesome run! To celebrate, I am going to watch it blindfolded
I hope you like what you see. 👀
@@PulseEffects just got done, took a few hours to find play 👊👊 gonna work on lowering my pb

I did not expect him to do tweaking blindfolded
All that only to get called "Someone" in the title
I am amazed. The level of patience and commitment required to pull this off would make Buddhist monks jealous
Buddhist monks would find this an astronomical waste of time and hope that the runner can come out of their suffering and find happiness lol
What are your thoughts on the run? My mind was blown the entire time. 🤯
Absolutely wild.
Same!

For sure! I tried very hard to find the sound bytes online for clean audio but couldn't find anything unfortunately!

Almost as powerful and blind and deaf run for fire red
Your channel deserves so many more subscribers. Another banger 👌👌👌
hey! the world championship that Edu won is 2022, not 2016 - he was in top 4 that year though!
Huh...I'm not sure how I got that wrong 🤔
The goat wolfey won 2016
He is definitely in company with god tier gamers now if he wasn't already
This is faster then a normal playthrough. On the johto section. Really impressive
This was completed on my birthday. Somehow it makes me turning 25 be so much better
I didnt expect this when I pictured a blind run of HGSS but this is infinitely more jawdropping.

I'ma bout to watch this video blindfolded
Ayooo that's me in the opening 😳
Legend. 🏆 (Sorry I messed up the year 😭)
Now next blind and deaf
This video was PulseEffects putting the Sounddesiger of HeartGold/SoulSilver over
Yoooo the streets of rage ost in the background gives me shivers.
I'm about to load up SMT IV Apocalypse on my 3ds and then I'm hearing a faint world map OST and for a second I think I'm going crazy.
literally who's that pokemon
Next up, a (double) blindfolded soullink emerald kaizo nuzlock.
this is def up there with wersters all gold symbols run
My personal favorite HeartGold challenge was a no healing no non-mandatory items challenge I did a couple years back took me many hours and numerous resets
great vid bro!
This is insane! Thank you for such an interesting video=3

@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 if you put it like that, that makes more sense! I thought it wasn't a Speedrun because I didn't see any time counters
martsnack beat fire red blind and deaf
Blindfolded speedruns are just emulator glitches but permanent
Great videos!
This is insanely good!
14:01 lmao im trying to solve the rubiks impossible for the first time without help as im watching this
This sounds crazy already.
why wasn't it hailing during the red fight?
The date of January 1st stops Hail on Red
Next step is to watch this video blind
HARI (Thomas Gravouille) did the same on Pokemon Emerald for a while now ! Still impressive run though !
Absolutely outstanding
We all know the goat is CTC
The smogon player?
I can actually see someone pull this off, by remembering general map layouts and pokemon cries.
Pun intended, by the way.
Just waiting for the blind & deaf run now
now do it helen keller style and add no audio
This is insanity
Let’s see u do it facing the opposite way to the screen ..
Jokes on you. I'm already subscribed. 😅
dang thats wild
Well clearly it's possible lol
Dope TTYD songs lmao
? wait so is it heartgold or is it soulsilver
SoulSilver. Says so at the bottom of the stream.
@@wesleyhunt7599 thanks
Pokémon but played by a bat
Eduardo is 2022 world champion not in 2016
I'm not sure how I got this wrong when SwSh wasn't even out until after 2016. 🫠

You must hate music.
Play Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
Cool
😣 "promo sm"

Yeah, that's why he was able to do it in the first place.
I have my doubts that a blind person has any chance of playing this game.
HE IS HIM
