Certain colors mix, these do not which is why it looks so brown. Use like colors (warms with warms, cools with cools) and ONE contrasting color. She also needed to use more white to separate the colors. Also, a simple red solo cup works just fine.
If you add white between the colors it will separate them so they don't churn and blend. Also instead of dropping the paint into the glass from high up try spilling them down the side of the glass so that they "layer".

So purple and yellow are complimentary and blue and orange are complimentary... mix those and you'll end up with some variation of a neutral.. usually brown/gray. That's probably why why it ended up sort of tan and not as neon bright as probably planned
Yeah I had a feeling after mixing all of those colors it wasn't gonna come out as pretty and bright as she wanted. The problem with easy pour and other poster paints is they aren't made to last when it comes to colour and vibrancy. Better to find a good quality acrylic
This is called an acrylic pour. This is not new. This has been done. If she had a specific color scheme that wasn't just random colors that turn brown and muddy this would actually be pretty. Using a lot of paint is the only way you can achieve this marble-like affect unless you know how to paint the patterns by hand which wouldn't give the same effect. HOWEVER you do not need a wine glass and or a strainer to do this. Just pour the colors on top of each other on the canvas. You'd probably use a little less paint but not much.

If you are interested in trying....You don't need a wine glass or a colander. You can take a solo cup put paint in it and just pour it out slowly while moving/tilting the canvas. You won't ruin a glass or colander/strainer.
Girl, I kinda like you, so please don’t force me to be mean,, u need to start reflecting and learning from past experiences.. how many tumes r u going to over mix the colors and causing a muddy brown.. pour the colors with the least amount of movement if you’re putting this much different colors 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Helpful hint: use a paint medium to thin the paint so it moves better and you use less. By the time you were ready to pour, the purple disappeared. Also, layer the canvas with it too.. the amount of paint made the colander redundant.
These say ready to pour so I'm guessing they already have a medium in them, idk I've never seen them and would love to know where to get them and what they cost bc I've been wanting to start doing this type of art but not sure what to buy and can't afford to spend a lot to experiment with what works and what doesn't.

Let's use all those bright colors so we can mix them to end up with a painting predominantly brown.
