Kong is supposed to get even more screen time in legacy of monsters Godzilla really getting side lined in his own franchise
This is not Godzilla franchise only, It's a shared universe.
It's not really HIS universe, he just plays a very big role in it. I had a feeling he wouldn't be in season 2 that's kinda expected since he can't be on skull island. But hopefully he gets another solo film since I think he really deserves it.
I think next movie is gonna be like gxk except instead of kong getting most screen time godzilla does and kong gets less screen time
@@Elite_kong Honestly that's kinda what I want, like I really want a Godzilla focused movie where we have Godzilla on screen for like 50 minutes but I also wanna see him team up with Kong at the end again because it's just so damn cool to see them work together. Also at the end of GxK Godzilla looked way more friendly towards Kong, I mean they literaly smiled and nodded at each other after Kong killed Skar.
Like maybe in the next movie we can have Godzilla struggling against whatever he's fighting until Kong shows up and Godzilla looks glad to see him for once.
The issue for Godzilla is he's a one trick pony. Stomps his feet and blows his breath. How do they make him more interesting? All the transformation crap? Kong has far more character and is more interesting in longer sequences. The writers need to dig and and come up with better storylines for G.
If the 2027 film is another crossover film, then we need another MonsterVerse Godzilla solo film in 2029.

What sucks is the fact that KOTM gained the least amount of profit which I’m sure makes it seem like a bad movie to the studios. But asking around people love the movie, KOTM is up there as my favorite movie in the monsterverse it just sucks that it came out in the time that it did competing with Endgame and Mulan. I’m sure if it came out later on in the year it would’ve done numbers. We do need another Godzilla film and I need Godzilla show why he’s the KING of the monsters.

I totally agree! my friend said to me a few weeks ago that only the Kong films do well, which I said no since Godzilla 2014 did pretty well, and KOTM came out at the worst possible time competing with a lot of films. It does have me worried that the studio now thinks that Godzilla can't work in his own film, which would be a huge shame.
@@philgodzilla_stuff I love KOTM, it's so great seeing those ToHo icons in the MonsterVerse! but for me the humans drag down the movie so much. It still has amazing monster fights tho!
Even tho I enjoyed KOTM despite its many flaws, I understand why it didn't resonate with a lot of people. 1. they waited too long to release it, 2. Terrible marketing, they showed too much in the trailers, 3. Overcrowded summer, 4. Terrible human plot, 5. Tone issues, 6. Too many cutaways!

Sadly the two movies that followed didn't had such an iconic and memorable soundtrack.
The next film is already set to be one last crossover, but Godzilla WILL be the main focus!

Really love the Monsterverse Goji myself. I'm a little older and when I was a small kid the Godzilla Power was on Saturday mornings. That and Godzilla vs Megalon started it all for me!!!

I agree with you. Godzilla needs more screen time and I mean a *lot* more screen time than he gets. I don't hate Kong or anything, I love that monke but we definitely need another Godzilla solo film, stat.
Finally someone who thinks straight!!! The monsterverse can't just sustain itself on crossovers, this is a shared universe, we need solo projects, especially godzilla which is being largely left aside in the last few films, i'm afraid that legendary will only make films with godzilla and kong appearing in the same movie from now on, legendary has to stop thinking like that because the monsterverse is much more than just crossovers

Let’s have Angurius in the solo movie. You know since Angurius is Godzillas best friend
2 problems:
1. Legendary is renting the license to use the Godzilla name and image and their license will expire so they would need to renegotiate with Toho. Could be the reason they are focusing so much on Monarch and the other monsters now.
2. Godzilla was always a bit OP but now that they gave him an evolved form which is 20x more powerful than base, it leaves very little room for a challenger of equal power. He was able to take out Tiamat with just one blue breath, so I can’t imagine anything-except Shimo-surviving his pink breath.

I'd like to see Godzilla get more focus. I do think it's a bit tough when he and Kong are in the same movie. Because it's just much easier to let the audience connect with Kong. He's more human-like, has this underdog vibe (especially compared to Godzilla), and he's a bit more on humanity's side compared to Godzilla who is played more in a neutral manner.
But Godzilla should get another movie that focuses on his arc. And honestly it wouldn't hurt for a bit less Kong for a bit. He's in a good position and is pretty happy right now. It's ok to let him stand pat as King of the Hollow Earth for a while.
I highly doubt the next Monsterverse movie isnt a Godzilla solo movie which im very happy about I hope they dont start milking the Godzilla and Kong team up to death

haven’t even watched the vid yet but i 100% agree. honestly the fact that there’s only like 3 solo movies alone makes it way harder for me to get myself into the series. like im sure i’ll appreciate the other monsters and movies way more once i start enjoying godzilla more, but its hard to do that when he gets such little solo content :( it sucks too because his origins in the 1954 were cool and dark as fuck (imo), which seems like it’s been what fans have wanted for years. there’s always still time tho, so here’s to hoping!

I really want another Godzilla solo movie so badly. My dream story for that movie is Godzilla finding another Godzilla specimen and that being a female. Why you’re asking? Well, in KOTM, ishiro Serasawa’s assistant stated 2 things about how they found the 17 Kaijus: 1. Most of them were found during their hibernation and others are kept secret in classified monarch outposts. So, that means either she’s still sleeping or she’s kept under containment. Or she’s possibly hiding somewhere in the Axis Mundi.
(But it’s just a theory)

They need to either finish with a Destroy all monsters type of movie or a G v Destroyah film which is kind of set up already with the oxygen destroyer

We need a Godzilla film that shows the action and not cut away to the humans and have the same feeling KOTM (we def need great themes again like kotm.) So far none of the movies actually dive into Godzilla and Mothra history together, we hardly even see them do combos to the enemy, a Godzilla and Mothra film could do great if done right.
Edit: also we need a actual world ending villain (Ghidorah a good example or the mutos) skar king was great and I like his character but a actual evil titan(s) that doesn't shows up at the end of the movie and can actually fight back would be nice.
I agree, Skar King was a cool villain but not as scary as they had built him up to be. Had we gotten a gargantuan 450-500 foot tall Gigantopithecus/2016 King Louie style ape with lethal weapons and we actually saw him slaughter other titans it would've been truly terrifying. I would say my top 4 picks for who could fill such a role would be the following: Gigan, Mecha King Ghidorah (if it is a human invasion style movie he is the best pick), Space Godzilla and Destroyah.
I would obviously like all the others to appear, but Mecha King Ghidorah could actually be an impactful villain in a truly emotional rollercoaster of a movie. Since the monsters are the main characters of these films after all, it actually makes sense to switch things back to GvK and (to an extent) Skull Island where the greatest monster of them all is mankind. A massacre of the iwi tribe with high technology, as well as Mecha King Ghidorah turning Kongs army into monkey stew and probably also killing Shimo would be particularly heart breaking to watch, just like Avatar 2 where the army slaughters the whales. Being an animal lover, I have a thing for movies where the villain is an absolute bastard of a guy when it comes to animals and nature (Babar the series, The Rescuers Down Under, King Kong Lives and Avatar are all prime examples of this) because it truly makes you root for the animal themed protagonists and also hammers in the message of conservation.

I like your idea and was wondering if it was too early for mecha ghidorah since we already had Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla, but iirc in GvK novel Ren serizawa (MechaG pilot) was being possessed by Ghidorah himself. Which could be a great way to bring back Ghidorah. I heard about it from one of dangervile videos. But bringing back Ghidorah would probably be overused, but would be amazing since he is Godzilla rival. If we don't get ghidorah then Gigan, Space Godzilla, and Biollante could work. Since MV already went down the goofy style path, then aliens could actually work or alien kaijus again.
@@AlmightyFlamesOfBlue yeah, so technically Ren Serizawa could be the perfect main bad guy for such a movie if he's still alive in the movie cannon. May be towards the very end when the humans have exploited and destroyed parts of the Hollow Earth, Mecha King Ghidorah harvests the energy from the crystals and just goes berserk trying to kill everyone.

The closest thing we are gonna get to another modern solo Godzilla film is minus one
And thats its own solo film and it aint even a movie, its an experience of a lifetime, Minus one really is a beautifully put together film and seeing Godzilla as the main focus rather than Kong is cool because thats all there is to focus on is Godzilla, im not glazing Minus one because im really not i love both Minus one and Monsterverse, i just feel Godzilla needs more solo films as Kong already had his character arc, now wheres Godzillas, we need to learn more about him and why he has the motives he has, Kong already has family again, while Godzilla is alone, we need to find Godzilla another of his kind (either being Biolantte or smthn, but that would mean making Biolantte a hero in which i would love as I myself am a huge Biolantte fan, Im a huge fan of alot of monsters like Megalon, Muto, Gezora, Hedorah, Ghidorah, Rodan, Mothra, Angiurus, Destoroyah, MechaGodzilla, and most importantly Godzilla) so that would be cool to see Godzilla meeting another one of his kind, it doesnt have to straight up be another one of his species, it could be a sub species of titanus - Gojira

Exactly! would love to see them actually explore Godzilla as a character. Also Minus One was so bloody amazing! I cried when I watched it. My friend just got back from Japan and he got me a Minus One poster, and it hangs right next to my Godzilla 1954 poster. Just seeing those poster side by side is so cool haha

The only problem is that what’s going to be his character arc as when the monsterverse was being made they only had plans for the first four films so not knowing that if there would be another film after gvk. So g14 and kotm were both used as his character arc movies where his entire arc was to show that he was indeed the king of the monsters, after kotm he was kinda left to stagnate which is why he really hasn’t had any more screen time because they quite literally don’t know what to do with his character

Well, Godzilla's role is pretty established. He rises to fight kaiju that are not under control. He doesn't communicate with anyone or listen to anyone other than Mothra.
So what would his solo movie be?
He would just attack a kaiju that isn't under control.

I REALLY hope what happens is. He wasnt super charging in GxK for shimo and skar, but for a different threat, something like a destroyah or a space godzilla.
I completely agree with this, he has been sidelined for the past two movies which has given Adam Wingard a lot of slack, however Adam himself DID actually address this by saying he wants the next movie to be Godzilla centric. But now that Grant Sputore is directing, we don't know anything at all. This could actually be ANOTHER KONG movie with no Godzilla in it (they don't need to pay for any licenses that way so its technically more profitable for them). Kong is clearly the bigger box office draw of the two, though that might have changed now with Minus One. It is such a shame KOTM released at the wrong time period (too much competition with Disney and Marvel who were untouchable at that time), I am almost certain it would have done a lot better had it been released in a less crowded season. Because of this, its like Legendary/Warner has no faith in the character Godzilla, at least as a lead character. Grant Sputore did respond to a comment on insta that DID actually say 'your havent seen my favourite godzilla movie yet'. So that might be a subtle hint its a Godzilla movie.

As much as I would like a Godzilla solo film, it doesnt have to be a solo film. It can be another GXK.
But Godzilla NEEDS to be the focus of the film, with Kong being the deuteragonist instead.
And when I say Godzilla needs to be the focus, I don't mean like in his own 2 films where the humans were the main characters with him being in the backroun, I mean that I want him to be like Kong in GVK and GXK, where he is absolutely the main character.
Well the problem is that for a Godzilla solo film is that a Godzilla solo film means that they would have to make a worthy villain to him which ever since GXK The Godzilla Community has been glazing him people would get mad that he would be losing because the glazers have been feeling like if he loses that’s bad and Godzilla “Glazers” would not like that and him winning the first fight means movie is over so yeah I feel like another movie based off the 2 is better because you know Godzilla Glazers are gonna be glazing the hell out of Godzilla when he wins.

Most definitely GODZILLA does need his own solo film. And in his solo film. The humans need to attack him and GODZILLA just goes on a destroying rampage. Then eventually fighting a titan that the humans somehow created. It needs to be a dark film. GODZILLA killing titan's and Going on a World Destroying tour
Just get rid of kong and mothra and let Godzilla have a vs film against one of the other titans maybe even multiple vs him

I don’t think he needs a solo movie. The problem is it feels like this “universe” only has 2 main monsters. A shared universe feels pointless at point. A Mothra or Rodan movie is needed

People make these fan concepts of what wanna see for the future of the MV, but they never satisfy me because they’re all just “rehashed old Toho monster for the sake of it being an old Toho monster” and it’s always the same few villains instead of “for this movie, I want to see an original monster or other threat”. It honestly feels so creatively bankrupt when I see these fan concept just stuff old monsters for no reason other than the fact they recognize them. Like do we really need SpaceG or Dest other than the fact we recognize them?

Both Kong and Goji need at least 2 more solo films especially Kong considering how may films Goji has.
kong technically has technically 3 gxk and gvk are kong movies as he is the primary focus not godzilla as he has only had koftm and 2014

Godzilla has over 35 solo movie and gets tons of content outside the monsterverse. GxK and GvK have more Godzilla screentime than 80% of Godzilla movies but Y’all are still such crybabies and you still complain. Maybe if you had watched KOTM when it came out you wouldn’t need kong to keep the monsterverse alive. Godzilla isn’t getting another solo film in the monsterverse and you only have yourselves to blame
In the video we are only talking about the MonsterVerse version of Godzilla, so we're not counting the ToHo films at all. Also I did go see KOTM when it came out, I actually ditched school and took a bus to my closest cinema to go see it. Also for it not making much money, that was honestly their own fault. Releasing a movie in such a crowded time in cinema, they should have waited for a month where there wasn't any serious competition. Thanks for watching the video.
