Yes with that 5 amp smaller bmw attached, the larger actual BMS is not adequate alone.
do you have issues with over heating on the BMS since you have the heatsink taped up? I would be concerned once its underload it may get pretty hot.
The BMW is not really tape up and I have no issues so far.
Thanks for putting this together! I am having the same problem you describe in problem #1) battery voltage OK, but no voltage at C-. When I go into the consumer app, there is no lock. Whether I use consumer or pro app, if it hit the switch to allow discharging, the app says "setting success" but the switch unswitches. Any thoughts? I am able to set other charging profile parameters in the app, no problem.
So when you unlock the the BMS does the battery allow for discharge?
@@RANDOMFIX I figured it out! It would not allow me to unlock the bms. It displayed it as "unlocked" (no lock symbol). I found a setting under "Function Setting" called "Switch function" by switching that to OFF, I was able to switch "discharge" to ON.

I have a JDB 150 BMS & my BMS is draining my 280ah lithium lifeo4 battery, nothing is connected to it during the knight. I have tried everything. It looks like I'm going to have to get a new BMS.
Hello how are you ? My BMS say always "100% charged" but my voltage stay at low voltage (for example 13.02v-13.3). (And the nominal capacity automatically change from 300 to 270, to 225, to 200 , ...) Do you think that I have the issue n°3 ?

My JBD bms shows about twice the draw as it should. I was having problems updating the parameter settings today and I completely disconnected the bms and then afterwards I realized the wattage/amp discrepancy. I'm out ideas at the moment...

@RANDOMFIX no I sure haven't. I raised or doubled over current and max charge current and been running it since. I am going to order another one though and use the 13s that's messing up in a small project just for balancing and charge protection...
i have an issue, I was messing with the BMS setting while charging, after it saved my settings it got stuck loading bar, now its not letting me connect to the bms while charging, have you ran into this issue ? how do I fix that issue?

Apps are not even seeing a signal, does a panel have to be connected?
Disconnect the Bluetooth and reconnect, make sure the ibs is fully plugged in.
You must buy Kapton tape by the case.

Do I really need to explain that workmanship is very important. I would not buy or rely on anything that looks like that taped -up mess. Just my bias. Workmanship and pride in work matters. It may work just fine, but what a mess of a job. There are many ways to build a prismatic battery, in my opinion, random sloppy wrapping with tape is the last method I'd choose. If I did one this way, I'd hide it in a good battery box and never show anyone my work let alone do a UA-cam video on it. If you don't realize what a mess this is, I feel badly for you. Watch some other channels with good builds. Lithium Solar is one. Off grid garage. Freely Roaming. Will Prowse. There are many good examples. This is a mess.

if you want battery porn go for it. But if you want a solid battery then rewind. This is one guy with no production video that showed everything from start to finish. Take that for what it’s worth.
