      Thanks Rick. I sure hope so I'm tired of messing with it. If it doesn't start leaking in a few weeks I think it will be ok

    Hi Jason I am glad you were able to fix that leak it is very embarrassing if you tell people that you have restored something and that judge your ability according to one leak rather than the complete tractor! I totally get that you had it apart many times things like that can keep me up at night and I can’t seem to focus on other projects before that problem is rectified. But I just wanted to make one comment even though you have already fixed it because it might help down the road and that is that if you go to a hydraulic shop they can sell you cornered o-rings so these style o-rings are round but have a squared shoulder. Maybe you know about that already but nice Pony very shiny!

      Hi Keith. I hear you with the lost sleep and lack of focus on anything else when something isn't going right. I lost a lot of sleep when I restored this tractor. Some other things gave me issues,but thank God everything got resolved!
      I understand the O ring you are talking about. I'm guessing they would work but then again if the plate isn't flush on the control valve like I was struggling with I don't think any kind of O-ring would work.
      Thanks for watching!

    What a sweet little tractor! The one is still for sale up the road from me, youd never know it could look that nice by how tired looking it is now. The struggle is real for sure Im going though it with my dang welder/generator rite now.

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  5 років тому

      Take a break from the welder and go get that tractor!! LOL
      Yeah it can really be frustrating when you fix something over and over again just to have it fail. However when you concur it the feeling is great!!

      No more tracors, no more tractors, no more tractors. Thats what I keep telling my self. That struggle is real too. Tractors are like potato chips, you cant have just one, lol.

      My mother once said "You need another Tractor like you need another hole in your head" Then she paused and said "oh well what's one more hole?" LOL

    Beauty job on the Pony. Great idea installing studs. I have been building custom Harley motorcycles for years and want a new challenge. I am looking at buying an old Tractor and restoring. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers

      I know some people that were into Harleys. Now their buildings are full of tractors. 😆 Be careful they are addicting!

      I have been trying to find info on my Pony. I find a lot of info on the MH Pony but the label on mine just says No.16 Tractor By Massey-Harris-Ferguson. I could find no reference to ANY tractor that has all three names. Can you or anyone you know explain this or tell me the manufacture date? Maybe I have something rare?? I appreciate any response. Thanks, Bob

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  4 роки тому

      @@bobdunn9523 Congratulations you have a rare Pacer. Not a Pony. A Pony has the model number of 12. The Pacer is model number 16. The model numbers are the horsepower. There are not as many Pacers around. Not as many as the Ponys but if your tag has all three names of Massey Harris Ferguson this makes it extra special and rare because it would of been Gray in color. Not red. This is right at the time that Massey Harris and Ferguson tractors were starting to merge into Massey Ferguson. I can't remember off hand the exact story about the color change but I'm sure you can Google it and find something. I've seen a few of them in person. UPDATE: I apologize I was wrong. The Massey Harris Ferguson PACERS were not Gray only the Ponys were. They were painted gray because they were being sold threw the Ferguson dealers I believe in 1953. However you still have a very special tractor. 1. It's a Pacer 2. It's a Massey Harris Ferguson not just a Massey Harris

      @@Jason1Pa Thank you very much for your quick response and great information. My "Pacer" is red in color. It was working very well till about 2 years ago. It was having carburetor problems and I got a carb rebuild kit for it. I intended to get it running again but I had medical problems and it has just been sitting all this time. We have just an acre of land but I just loved to use this machine for various chores. It was so much fun to use it. Mostly I used it to disk the back I/3 of our property. Now we have goats to keep the weeds down. I am getting too old to enjoy working on things like I used to and so will see if I might find a buyer for it here in California. If I had your email address I would be happy to send you some photos including the name plate. Thanks again for your help, Bob

    Jason could you tell me why a Ferguson to30 runs only with the choke, carb has been rebuilt . Good spark can't get this thing to run

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  5 років тому

      Hi Ronald. Well does it idle ok but needs choke at higher speeds or is it all the time? If it's for higher speeds it's probably the main jet that needs a good cleaning. Also it Could be a fuel starvation situation. Are the screens or filters that could need cleaned? Is the tank breathing good? Take gas cap off to see if it helps. Also if there is a leak around the intake manifold it could be sucking in too much air. A lot of times the manifolds can get a slight warping to them and even a new gasket won't help.

    Hey!!! I just got a 51 Pony and the the Hydraulic Lever is locking up alot which wont let us raise or lower front and back plows and if it does sometimes get stuck in “ON” positionin. I was wondering if U have any fix for that if my question and also do U have a pic of your lever has I am trying to see if mine is original. Thanks!!!

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  3 роки тому

      I can't really think of anything that would cause it to stick. I even checked my manual real fast and it didn't mention anything. So even if you pull or push on the lever it won't release? I know they won't automatically kick off if they are low on fluid but it seems yours is getting stuck tight? How does the lever react when the engine is not running?
      My email is jbeluschok@yahoo.com send a picture of your lever and I'll try to send you a picture of mine.

    Hey Jason, thanks for the videos. I've done everything you suggested and finally got my hydraulic unit to quit leaking, thanks again. I have another problem, I think I may have my hydraulic lines crossed. Could you tell me which line goes to where on the control valve pad? To simplify, does the lower tube on the pump go to the front or rear tube connection on the control pad?

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  7 місяців тому +1

      I'll double check when I get home to be sure. I guess a easy test to do is if you pull back on the lever and the lift arms come up you have it right. If it the opposite then you'd need to flip them.

    You should get yourself an impact driver. It's a hammer driven driver. Works great for flat blade and Phillips drive. The hammer drives the bit down into the slot at the same time turns the screw. They're not expensive and you should have no problem finding one. Every tpol box should have one in it. Also works great on clutch drive fasteners as well as Allen's!!! Hope that helps you out!!! Keep Rocking it out!!!

    • @Jason1Pa
      @Jason1Pa  5 років тому

      I have one but there isn't enough room to use it. Especially for the nut behind the lines. Also the slot in the screw is so wide everything wants to hop out. That's why I'm thinking the studs with nuts is the best fix for this. So far so good. Thanks for watching. How's the Ford coming along?

      @@Jason1Pa Ah. Studs and nuts are better anyway. All of the oils are draining right now. Had at least 3 to 5 gallons of water in the hydraulic oil from sitting outside. Had to put my heat gun in the fill hole to help the oil flow out. Got to make new gaskets today for the drain plugs. Will fill up with fresh oils and test today. Will probably post a video later today. Thanks for asking. Keep Rocking!!!
