"Somewhere in the night, there's a little girl wanting a hug"...or something like that. Been a while since I read this. One of my favs.
“Somewhere in the night there’s a little girl still looking for a goodnight kiss”
@06mrselfdestruct Thanks! I knew it was something like that
No ghosts in The Lot. That line always gets me.
It was in the short story as originally written, too.
That line also nailed me hard when I read it for the first time.
The ending words for it:"There's a little girl out there, and I believe she wants to give me a kiss."
This brings back memories. I read the Stephen King short story decades ago.
I could never believe that Ben and Mark would leave the Lot infested with vampires after burning the entire place down. I thought they went back to kill them all, and I always wondered what went wrong.
I thought much the same.
Mark may have been only a teenage boy, but he was tough as bull hide.
May 30, 2023---Good story but how did the wife/daughter remain in the bar with a cross on that back wall?
Clever of you to have that mirror shot!
Good job. This is one of my favorite Stephen King stories, as atmospheric and scary as anything he wrote. Always wanted someone to film it. You caught a lot of it.
I like it more than salems lot
I've always wondered why people would KNOWINGLY live, and operate a business, in close proximity to a town full of vampires. And not just any business... but a bar!!?? Insert jokes about "dropping in for a drink."
You would think that they would surround the Lot with crosses and block off that road, I always figure they keep it open so the vampires don't eat them. I thought they couldn't come in without a invite. Must be too poor to move.....cuz I agree with you.
Most people who lived near "The Lot" Wore a cross or something to protect them from the vampires and they tried to warn people away from the area but you can only warn people so much and if they don't listen its on them.
House prices.
The vampires are stuck there.
That was an interesting take on the King's story.
Slick flick! I've always loved this story, and this is a great rendition. Imagine if Blade pulled up in his charger.
Damn dude Blade would clean house
This is a lot like Dracula's Guest, by Bram Stoker, a short story deleted from his novel, Dracula.
Just finished this book and tbh the 2 shorts were more effective so keen to watch this
THAT was awesome!
Glad this was made
This is the best version yet.
EXCELLENT
Great job! I loved this story and it was fun to see it made into a mini movie. More please!!!
Great job! Thanks for uploading this.😃
Get a life
Why can't theses little movies stick to the dam story as written?
Good lord.
I recently picked up the rights to one of his Dollar Baby stories. I was wondering about distribution. It's totally fine to distribute through UA-cam?
I had to ask permission to put it on youtube, so I would recommend asking first. I think as long as you make no money off it its fine.
The fellow playing Tookey is a good actor. Mr. Lumley wasn't too bad, either. Music was kinda intrusive. Overall, the sound was not good. Why did the vampires wear bad makeup? It's muvh creepier when they look normal and then act like vicious monsters.
Fair adaptation, but , I preferred the scenarios from the short story by King.
Thanks! My original plans more in line with the story. I filmed this on a set in NYC and my original plan was to rent some cars and bring the actors up north to film some of the outdoor scenes from the short story in the snow. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it work with the schedule, and there were budgetary restraints, so we couldn't make it happen.
The story is fresh to me so I can see how you altered it but I like what you’ve done with it making it take place in a single location
🏆🏆🏆
Well done.
Brandy yellow?
That is not exactly how the story goes 1st of all the girl is about 6-7 years old and the mother and her are lost after they were left in the car and lumly finds them in the snow and the girl tries to attack 1 of the guys But he uses his bible to scare her away they never come in to the barn
so you did not have a car or did not have snow??? why all happened in the bar? also. both guys are quite older in the story :) and Jerrie's wife was beautiful brunette. cool movie anyway!!!
We couldn't get the car :) Thank you though for the compliment!
It's a shame that there isn't a way for these Dollar Baby films to be made as for all to see legally. The makers should at least recuperate the cost and maybe further profits going to charity, of King's choice. Fortunately this is another one that's available to view and it's quite effective.
How did you obtain the rights to the story?
Is the bartender Marjorie Glicks husband
honestly, this play had little or nothing to do with the actual Stephen King story, which is excellent.
Really, really bad. But good try! 😊
You missed the whole part of them driving back in the snowstorm to get them in the empty car - That was the scariest part of the story - If you’re not gonna do a story right, don’t do it at all!
It was still very atmospheric and done better than other versions on YT. Maybe they just didn’t have budget to fake a snow storm while driving?
Very poor job making this. Sucked
You suck Mike
