    That looks like a fun place to run the SRR. Sandy dunes are even better. Don't give up on the AVC just yet. As others have mentioned, just dial it back until the front end stops wobbling. Also, make sure the truck is completely flat on the ground and level when you turn the truck on. The AVC sets its reference points when you first turn it on.

    I really like you tests on the vehicules... you tested what the truck is made for. Love it. I think that this will be my truck.

    The back wheel would be coming off due to the play between the hub and wheel, once it gets a bit loose, the rotation will merrily spin the nut off regardless of how tight it was, due to the direction of rotation. As some others have stated, a bit of medium hold loctite is the go 👍

      Les Probett I don’t have this car mate. To be fair I do have to udr and taking off all preload did help it a bit. Still a big time roller though on the turns. Can’t imagine handles like a dream is quite accurate.... with this car😜

    • @lesprobett7348

      @@RCmaxxUK Maybe like a dream was the wrong wording but compared with the udr the rock rey handles far much better now I've lowered the suspension. Also the durability of the rock rey has been brilliant and I've bashed the crap out of this and nothing has broken yet 🤞. I would highly recommend the Super Rock Rey 👍

    Been waiting for this video for awhile. Great run Vas and perfect location. On 8S this thing is a demon. I've since geared mine up to 18T and run it on 6S. Seems to be the sweet spot for me. Love those wheels you are running.

    Second time doggos have crashed a video lol. This makes me miss my Yeti and wish I got the Yeti XL. With these solid rear axle machines (my favorite class) the rear suspension setup causes them to mule kick consistently and if you look up 1:1 rock bouncer videos you'll see why. And the best way to counteract it when making decent sized jumps is to REALLY pin the throttle, and they fly level. You can take turns at speed or with throttle but you can only really do it on gravel or low traction surfaces like the BMX track. With the flex they have, it plays against the cornering and will completely shift the body weight in the opposite direction of the turn. Sway bars help a bit, but unless you're running slicks you can't take turns on grass/mud at speed. Those tires that come with it would be your best bet on the BMX track because they are meant to grip rocks and steep terrain like a crawler. They will fold on themselves if you take off the throttle while turning but as long as you spin them they perform magically.

  • @Bacon676
    @Bacon676 5 років тому

    Hey Vas, you're running in the same issue I had with my Savage once I went to a 3500W rated motor on 6s. It's the torque from the motor ripping on 8s here backing the wheel nuts off. You need to basically get the axles dripping with thread locker, as well as put down a Herculean amount of force on the wheel nuts.
    Either that, or make the jump up either 23mm or 24mm wheels and adapters.

  • @justinjones5281
    @justinjones5281 5 років тому

    The wheel nuts probably come off because the hub carrier has no support so when your turning hard the wheels put stress on the rim which cause the nuts to loosen. Locktight will definitely work. Good vid, gotta go rougher terrain to really make this thing shine for the money

    Why did you swap out the stock wheels, it is not a fair test, it performs well on the stock tyres has more ground clearance.
    The AVC is not supposed to be wound right up, it says so in the instructions it tells you turn it back if it glitch's You just turn it to around 50 to 60%, please read about the AVC you are giving it a bad rep saying it does not work.
    I use it in all my 5th gas vehicles, at around 30 to 50% get rid of the extenders it drifts better on stock wheel base and tyres.
    I have been using it since it first came out, it is particularly good with my two HPI Baja's being two wheel drive, also good in my Krakens and Dragon Hammer but I rarely use it in my LOSI 5ive-T and DBXL. I use the TSM in my UDR but it is not as good as the Spektrum AVC system, I have used AVC in my UDR but swapped back as I use the RTR transmitter for the Blue tooth and the telemetry as with the Spektrum you can not run both telemetry and AVC unless you have the Spektrum DX6Pro, but can with the TRAXXAS set up.
    So please read up on the AVC it is adjustable for a reason otherwise it would just be used on a two position switch on or off, it is variable depending on preference and terrain conditions, go play dialing it up and down.

      @bicketybamRC 5 років тому +1

      Excellent point. I have mine disabled (not turned down) because I jump mine at BMX track. But when I run it I dial it in by adjusting the sensitivity like you suggest. It makes the truck handle like a dream on loose dirt. I'm going to re-enable it on mine. I also run the stock tires.

    Can you use a 5000mah 6s and a 2s 5000mah for 8s? or do the cells have to match? Seems like a good combo if it does work and the same as two 4s.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  5 років тому

      Yes, you can do that. You need the same brand, same mAh, same C rating and preferably the same age as well. Cells do not matter when pairing in series. Essentially, you are making a 8S battery and the ESC will read it as such. The ESC does not know if you have 2 x 4S, 6S + 2S. 5S + 3S or 7S + 1S batteries connected, it only reads voltage. So as long as the cells match, it doesn't matter how you make up 8S. ;)

    Avc like the traxxas stability thing I totally don’t get at all. Hate all driver aids make no sense and take control ( to correct a crash for example away from me which I HATE!!) 😀.. thumbs up, enjoyed the vid... I have had a cpl solid axle rigs now and cornering is not a strong suit... just something about a solid rear I think. They roll plenty... udr and dragon hammer. This looks just as bad. So you are running wheel extenders??? And different from stock wheels straight away??? Why? Surely best to show a stock rig? Guessing it handles even worse stock? I always like to see a rig run standard 1st to see the reality of how a car runs before mods to make it better. Nice turn of speed as it should on 8s. Maybe try a rougher spot terrain wise to really show it off. With the odd jump ?... and could be lots of fun in the sand. 👍👌🏼. Good luck with the dog 💩 hate it when that happens!!!!🤢

    AVC feedback looks well funny turned up to max, the wheel falling off twice?? I wonder if you could put a bolt in the grub screw thread and thread lock that to stop the main nut backing all the way off?
    Looks good fun to drive except when the back comes up moments, locations a nice change maybe a portable collapsible launch ramp needs to be designed if not for this for other cars here ;O) ``o=o¬ RCYAL8R

    This kind of buggies have spare tire on rear, everybody i saw run with them but looks unnecessary weight to me.
