Hey Ramdino.. Chase and Buzz are now in mid Vermont, heading into northern Vermont and I can report that mud is much less than what we saw in the southern Vermont area.

Been to woods hold 3 times do to being a short drive from parrisburg virginia hike that streatch of trail manny times can cover that streach from pearsurg to bland in few days

@Navy1977 It is because I have ants in my pants…and I retire in the fall. 🐜🤣 I don’t want to wait to get started. As for location, I’m a section hiker with over half the trail complete, including the White Mountains, CT-VA, and GA. I wanted to start off with something a bit different, and from a section hike perspective, want to get Katahdin off the list. I also prefer cold weather… I’m working a plan in the background to double up on the miles I’ve not done yet to fulfill both a thru hike and complete a separate section hike at the same time. The sweet spot for me would be the CT MA line, but likely to be north of that.
It's just walking. Whatever "suffering" or "glory" is on YOU and only you care. I've thru hiked and I think it easier than folks make it out to be. YMMV, as always.

Recall you said recently that the ATC didn't want water caches left. I wonder how long ago they set that policy as we are now having record breaking heat & less than normal rainfall in some areas due to climate change.
Brown is because the oak leaves are acidic. They dissolve the iron. Iron oxidizes, and iron oxide is brown. Not muddy brown. Just brown like tea. It’s actually good for you.
