WOW compassion energy ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much for this hint Ajahn, now I understand where a Bodhisattva finds his limitless energy, where anyone of us may find it. 🙏🙏🙏
Your description of the third or Buddhist way of seeing a Bodhisattva is so sweet, they are the right words to describe the meaning of Buddhist Karuna and Bodhisattva nature or heart. 🙏❤️🙏
“I see no faults in the Church, and therefore let me be resurrected with the Saints, whether I ascend to heaven or descend to hell, or go to any other place. And if we go to hell, we will turn the devils out of doors and make a heaven of it. Where this people are, there is good society.” -Joseph Smith, Jr., July 23, 1843
Thank You! Sometime in the future I think it would be worthwhile to discuss people that cause suffering by 'going out of their way' to show compassion. A good example here in the US would be traffic. When drivers obey the rules of the road, things generally flow nicely. When a driver fails to move on a main road because they 'insist' on letting someone in from a side road and creates a hazardous condition eg congestion, blind spots, etc. they are jeopardizing the safety of everyone. In addition, since few drivers signal their intentions these days, the 'compassionate'(sarcasm) driver often has no idea what the other driver intends to do anyway! Unskillful means, lack of wisdom, egocentricity disguised as compassion (in some cases). Thank You for listening!
I think Brahm is rather mistaken on this one. It is clear that he was not in a Mahayana tradition. In Mahayana traditions the practitioners are trying to become a Buddha as soon as possible because that state one is most beneficial. Buddha Sakyamuni became a Buddha because he had the intention to become one. The practitioner that wishes to be liberated from suffering with effort will become liberated. The practitioner that wishes to become a Buddha will become a Buddha. Both paths were taught.
Its people who makes the place. Not the place that makes the people. Wow this is profound. So we shall not blame the environment but always be a kind person and spread the kindness around.
Sadhu 🙏🙏🙏 My understanding of Bodhisattva is that is born and made of pure Karuna in the Dhamma. It is said that the Buddha was a Bodhisattva in Nusita while waiting to choose his rebirth time and conditions. It is said that through deep concentration, once enlighted, one can choose his destination when worldly life ends up, Nusita included. In consideration of the 3 above mentioned conditions I am focused to go through all the 6 topic absorptions suggested by the Buddha, leading to the higher mind and to deeper concentration. Any wise advise about this will be very welcomed. ❤️
Be a human first the day you are born then if you want ,do some meditation to calm the mind. One does not need to be a monk or go very deep into religion to be happy . Ask the animals, plants ,trees , insects and viruses are you happy ?or have you done meditation? Humans are lost and never satisfied in life so they seek every path just to feel good but do not forget we all have to die sooner or later and then what ?I think as humans ,we should behave as one first .so therefore seeking every excitement in this short span of life is the most important ,so it is not necessary to be a monk or go deep into any religion. We all must behave as human beings with good characters is the main objective in life. Improve your human character to the highest level is the most important in life and i think is better than aiming for the heaven.
Let's picture compassion and control as a scale and you where to be extremely companionate, does this attitude abide with the principle of the middle way?...Where's the balance, there is no oscillation or stillness between the 2 points of extremities. Is it not because of his sense of order that a bodhisattva is of benefit for those who are said to be suffering due to desire, aversion and ignorance? And, again, is there a balance when one is said to eliminate ignorance, aversion & desire (meaning he does not suffer) and ends up in a state of happiness(referring to nirvana)? Or is this not permanent, thus part of a cycle? By the way are nakata and nirvana exclusive to 'different realms'?

Ajahn Brahm opened the door for me when my hands were full -- another example of how he expresses kindness and never thinks how senior he is.

Always a joy listening to Ajahn talk!
Be Humble
Brahm's story of his 'sacrifice' for the monks out of compassion is the act of the Bodhisattva.
any chance for better quality videos, at least 480p would be great.
Sadhu x 3
