Been with Navy since Dec 2021, opened flagship chk, savings with $5.00 and DD. Added pledge loan $500, $1000 CD, 3 months later applied for Platinum Visa $33k, TU 678, DTI 20%, utilization 10%. Applied for mortgage refi and home improvement loan 3 months later but did not apply for home improvement loan until mortgage refie closed. Added money market $1000 and opened 4 shared savings $5.00 each for mu children. Requested CLI after 91 days and then 6 months, now my Platinum Visa is at $49k. Applied for Cash rewards 7/5/2023 and today received email approval for $25k. TU score 745, DTI 35% and utilization 1%.

@dopeboyp3487 Thank you very much. I wish I had this information at 18, LOL. I am also building relationships with Penfed, SECU, Langley, Andrews and Kinecta. So far I have $10k LOC with Penfed and $20k CC with SECU, still gardening with the others. Good luck to you as well!
@@sjt7005 Having this information at 18 would’ve done wonders, right. LOL! This is why my wife and I are giving our children the leg up, and head start our parents weren’t knowledgeable enough to grant us.
Currently building credit for our 21yr old, then our 17 & 15yr olds are up next beginning this fall.

I can't stand capital one they're so cheap they told me they couldn't raise my limit because I didn't use enough of the credit they gave me it's only 300 dollars I can make one purchase and it's over 😂
@@Greenfarmer25 Capital One checking & savings are awesome. But their cards is very underwhelming and don’t like their three hard pulls with the credit bureaus for credit applications.
@@Greenfarmer25Use it, but don’t max it. 300 isn’t much, but if you use it to your advantage you can easily level it up in no time. Swipe it several times per month on low cost items, and pay the bill by the statement closing date.. Not the due date. Try this for 90 days, and watch what happens. Good luck!

Auto loans are the easiest to get approved for as they are secured.

They will definitely graduate but you can use their message center in your account to ask them when... they won't give a definitive answer but now you have a human looking at your account as opposed to the system.

✔️ Just a FYI too doing a direct deposit to Navy Federal you’ll get your paycheck on Wednesdays and (or) day before your actual payday depending on who you work for.
I had Navy Federal for about 3 years now. I opened both checking and savings. Yes, Im easing off of Chase. Thank you for your advice on that.,I just started having half of my pay check deposit in their checking account to feel them out. I just got approved of their platinum card end of April.

They’ll also send you your internal score if you get approved. I applied for the More Rewards card after opening my account. Only waited for one direct deposit cycle 😅 still approved for 7100 out the gate . Internal score 210, no other products yet
I called navy fed earlier today they internal score not really considered when applying for things I just got approved for a checking applied for a card within like 3 days got approved

Ish, you have great information. Question. Opened a checking and savings accounts. 212 months ago.. Pledge loan for 1200.00.. credit score is 602. Navy fed sent me a request to apply for More Rewards card. I think I should not apply at this time. What are your thoughts?

So many speak so slow, monotone to extend their length of their videos. A few ladies on here have good info (not as great as yours) but, they speak so slowly it's painful. But to answer your question yes they do look at the work history bro, your making good income right now but they like seeing that you’ve been at that place for a while so they can see your not going anywhere and you can afford the car and your not a risk to them or a bad investment
I have lots of great products and accounts NFED, never a decline letter, so how do I locate my internal score?

NFCU is our primary bank, we have direct deposit, money in all 3 of our bank accounts and our mortgage is funded by them. We would like to get a personal loan to pay off our auto and RV loan. We also would like some extra money to make a few minor improvements to our home. This may be an obvious question but.....is it important to let them know what we are going to do with the money we receive? If so, should we call to apply rather than doing an application online? Our income will more than cover the personal loan amount ($30,000) payment, but only once we pay off the auto and RV. What do you think?

I would not use your debit card in that way. Use a credit card and then just pay the credit card charge. Get your credit card points or cash back. You have very little protection using a debit card if there is something wrong with a product purchased with it vs a credit card. Plus the money is immediately withdrawn. And it is too easy for a debit card to be the victim of some scam vs a cc. At most you are liable for $50 for a fraudulent cc transaction but with a debit card you're completely out of the money.

By applying and being denied credit. It’ll be at the top of the letter they mail to you. I haven’t seen any other ways of retrieving it.
My jobs only gives me checks twice a month which I deposit in navy fed, my only bank. Do they still consider and look at direct deposit activity more than me depositing checks consistently? Thanks

I have three products with Navy Federal, but Credit Union1 in Illinois is really good also. They refinanced my vehicle, issued me a regular credit card and granted me a line of credit. All of the interests' rates were lower than the standard banks. You will receive your paycheck, or pension three days early, if you have direct deposit with them.
Was the line of credit based on equity or what type was it?

I started with NF in January with a 200 secured credit card did a 1k pledge loan have checking & savings with direct deposit and 2 different certificates and I just got approved for 9400 cash rewards and I've had a 300 capital one card since December and they won't give me a limit raise with a annual fee so I'm going to close it now and maybe take a small hit on my score. But NF is the best no other Bank for me 😂
Try calling in late night and speaking to a supervisor.. that's what worked for me
Cap 1 is still a decent bank, and to keep diversity in my credit profile I’d keep it open. However, if you do decide to close it, pay it off first then do so soon. The sooner you close it, the sooner you’ll recover from the minor credit ding.

Hi, should I close my Acct with another credit union? I have Chase as main bank and GNO credit union, and recently open a checking and savings at Navy Federal but I only deposited $25 or $50 in each Acct. I really want to apply for the Biz business card, so how should I proceed?
I wouldn’t close your account with the other credit union. To get the GoBiz credit card you’ll need to open a business account as well with NFCU first after opening a personal account.

Navy Federal has transformed into a new company to deal with the tremendous defaults during Covid-19. They still advertise 80k limits on the flagship but not likely anyone will get over 25k even with 10% usage and 780 fico. And forget about the pledge loans, 100k wont do you any good. You can rack up inquiries trying to get an increase if you want.

Also, the credit limit increases with NFCU are soft pulls. All of my credit profiles are locked at each credit bureau for free. Everyone should do that and do it for your children. So, what ypu said about hard pulls is also factually incorrect.

Gotta start using them as your main bank, and set that direct deposit up. Start having a decent amount of money in both of your accounts, that should do it

Yes, let them age for 2 years and they disappear. They do not affect your score after the first year. If you have high cs hard inquiries may not effect your score much.

Same here; love Capital One's cafe. I don't have any NFCU branches in NYC but it's my primary and direct deposit. Sometimes, i like to deposit cash, so Hybrid Capital One approach is fantastic.
