Very nicely explained. One more thing I usually do : define underlying patterns as layer 0. And everything that's above (the clone) as layer 1 (and more layers of course when necessary for pockets and other details). It helps with the simulation.
Youre awesome I love your tutorials !!
Outstanding tutorial thank you very much! I encounter a problem which i use the clone over option, there is a gap between the original and cloned layers, although they are sewed, the lines are not completely attached. Could you please tell me how to solve this problem?
I am having the same problem, please any help?
@@nia995 hello, i found out that you need you make the fabric thiccer, it does not solve it 100% but it make the gap small
@@kvakduck3278 Thank you!
Thank you Mr. Sewly!
Thanks for your comment! Really appreciate it!
Epic thanks I needed to create an inflatable jacket vest. This solve my problem
you're welcome! Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you find it useful.
3D Gladiator yep love your tutorials. I can create more detailed clothes versions. This deserves more views. Thanks for share it.
thanks! can you do a elastic tutorial, for example armband waistband...
Hey, thanks for your comment! Yes, I will probably create a few more Marvelous Designer Tutorials and look into the elastic wristband/waistband issue. Creating it sounds easier than it actually is… :)
3D Gladiator yeah that would be great! there's allot of max, maya, zbrush tutorials, not so many good md tutorials. seam taping? ;)
hi do you have a complete tutoraial for this jacket?
Hey, thanks for your comment and your interest! Part 2 of the tutorial can be found here: www.3dgladiator.com/tutorials/marvelousdesigner/part02/ In this one I explain how to transfer the mesh from Marvelous Designer to ZBrush. I also show you how to auto-retopologize the model in ZBrush and 3ds Max. The third and last part of the tutorial is still in the making. If you have subscribed on 3dgladiator.com, you will receive a notification email when the third part is online. Take care! Cheers, Ben | 3D Gladiator
amazing:)
Hello, I have encountered a problem when using "layer clone" to make a pocket. I want to enlarge the newly cloned layer to make the pockets look more stereo, however, at the same time, the original pattern is also enlarged. Could you please tell me how to solve this problem?
Hi Line Peng, thanks for your comment and your interest! When you use the “layer clone” feature, both patterns are linked together and behave like you describe. So, when you scale one in the 2d window, the clone follows. You can also see that patterns are linked when they have a small, slightly transparent, green outline in the 2D window.
You have two options here: You can delete the link by right-clicking on one or the other pattern in the 2D window and select “Remove Linked Editing”. The sewing remains valid, but now you can scale the patterns independently. The second option is to keep the linking intact and adjust only the shrinkage values of the pattern you would like to scale up. Click on the corresponding pattern, go to the simulation properties and increase the values for shrinkage weft and warp to something higher than 100%. That should do the trick! Let me know if it works!
Cheers,
Ben | 3D Gladiator
@@3DGladiator Thank you for your help and it works! And before your reply, I have chosen the second solution and achieved the desired effect. And you let me know another solution. Thank you again!
@@linepeng8394 You're welcome! I'm always happy to help and I'm glad it works :)
Actually better explained than in
Madina Chionidi's 50$ tutorial because she didn't explain that at all, just silently started to make a copy layer and really confused me.
Thanks for your comment, I'm glad it was helpful. It's true, without some testing, it's not very obvious what the layer clone function is good for. I'm sure Madina was explaining a few techniques a lot better then me :)
@@3DGladiator Can't learn everything from one person right, by the way i just checked your website and i'm shocked how much effort put into all the illustrations, gifs, videos and explaining all of that too, i'm defenitely checking out your tutorials, thanks!
please man i want to create molotove , and i got probleme with creating the fabric to be more realistic
Hey, thanks for your comment! I will look into this issue. Marvelous Designer cannot only be used to create garment. It’s also great to simulate fabric for equipments and stuff…
@@3DGladiator thank you man i will wait you. :)
