  • Hi,
    This tutorial goes over how to replace a broken bearing. Please note, out of experience most of the time the solutions to a jerky Snoo is not replacing the bearings. It's replacing the O-rings. Please check all of your O-rings before attempting to replace the bearings.

    Just wanted to follow up and say thank you. My snoo has been subtly vibrating even after changing the o-rings. I managed to pull the motor bearings, and sure enough, one of them just isn't moving properly. Replacements come soon, hopefully I can get it all put back together and that solves the issue.

    Thank you so much for this video! Luckily only had to change the o-rings on the motor shaft, but this helped me checking all the bearings, and also finding out what to do with the old o-rings (1 had disintegrated into crumbs, and the other 2 were out of the shaft, sitting one on each side. I wonder what happened…). The ones in your links worked perfectly

    Got all the way down to removing the motar but did not have a vice and punch to press the bearings out and wasn't willing to improvise with bed time for the little one coming around quicker then I hoped. Replaced the I 3 rings that were torn on the motar seem to helped for the most part. Still have the bearings in case the motar decides to wear out soon. Did not bother replacing the zip ties putting it back together. Should be fine as long as it has clearance from movement.

    Any suggestions for removing the outer rings of the bearings? Bearings were definitely shot, but they came out in pieces, and it seems the outer rings are stuck.

    How freely should the motor move? Mine spins with some friction? Should it be effortless and spin freely?

    • @SnooRepair
      @SnooRepair  9 місяців тому

      It should have friction as there's magnets inside of the motor that catch itself. It should not spin freely.

    Any recommendations for a Snoo that just randomly shuts off/stops moving? There is no consistency with it. It might run fine for a few hours or for just a minute but at some point it just shuts off on its own. If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for making all these videos! Super helpful!

      Sounds like issues with the wire harness. The wire harness clips get damaged and it makes poor contact causing it to think that the snoo clips are not engaged.

    Need help diagnosing my SNOO issue: the SNOO is 2.5 years old. Loaned to friends, and now home to help us with our newborn.
    The sled is moving very slightly. We had minor squeaking a week or so ago that went away.
    I took the sled off to replace the O-rings based on your other video, but all the O-rings looked to be in good shape.
    I closed the sled up and tested it without reinstalling the mesh and the movement was good as new.
    After reinstalling mesh, the problem has returned and the sled is barely moving.
    Does this mean the motor bearings have gone bad?
    Any help is greatly appreciated: your videos and links are a ray of hope

    • @SnooRepair

      Sounds like Orings. All it takes is 1mm of wear for the orings on the motor to slip and cause a reduction in swaying. If it were the bearings you would hear a grinding noise.

    • @SnooRepair

      No, these are locked due to not being returned after a rental period. You would literally need a new circuit board to make it work.

      Earlier model snoos require you to completely remove the bottom base to access the 2 screws holding the bearings in place.

    • @MatthewRoger
      @MatthewRoger 3 місяці тому

      If you have a 1st Gen Snoo, you’ll run into the issue you’re describing. On those older models the metal rollers don’t pull up front the top, they release from underneath.
      They are held in from a bracket on the underside of that panel, and the bracket is held in by 2 Phillips Head Screws.
      You need to remove the 6 bolts from underneath the entire Snoo (near where the legs clip in) which are holding the panel with the rollers in place.
      Be careful, the bolts are held in place by a rubber washer a metal washer, a lock washer and a lock nut. Once you remove the bolts, you can carefully lift up the plastic panel, but take care not to disconnect or pull too hard on any of the wires connected to the actual motherboard below it.
      Use a short Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws for each bracket, which will then release the metal roller. Also be careful removing the metal roller because there are washers on each side of it as well because you don’t want to drop them
