No, your lungs won't heal if you quit smoking. The damage is already done. However, if you don't stop smoking you will get much worse much faster. I have had COPD for 12 years. Diagnosed 2 years _after_ I stopped smoking.
Yes but you leave out how the chemicals and heavy metals being sprayed into our air via jet are also causing this. How do we heal from that form of copd even if you dont smoke...?
I have question for you Is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis unilateral or bilateral? What More common? I always thought it was both lungs for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
But what happens to the ones who have genetic copd called A1? Copd is just a smokers disease anymore and assuming that it is can be a grave mistake. Due worldwide pollution and wildfire smoke volcano smoke and the like there are more people with early signs of copd . It starts with a cough and most ignore it until the second symptom hits they can't breathe. But by then it's to late. They have mild copd. I have asthma copd overlaps syndrome with my asthma and copd are genetic. So I have studied this stuff since diagnosed with it. There are studies out there about copd. You just have to study and learn about your copd.

You don't. You don't _heal_ from any form of COPD. It's a progressive, incurable disease. It gets worse, not better.
