We really enjoy Parks and have both expansions, and also have Trails. Trails is picked when we want a more stripped down or faster play, but otherwise it is always Parks. 100% agree with you about the Gear being rarely used in the base game, and thankful that Wildlife addressed that a bit. I personally go heavy canteen, sometimes to my own downfall, and I rarely pursue pictures while my wife seems to do the opposite. Thanks for this video!
Absolutely agree with the comments on games for kids still needing to be good, don't short-change the next generation of gamers. The thing I always find with kids is they are no different from adults in that at first they'll find modern style board games tough because they're used to bad games but the more they play the better they get. Before you know it they can play pretty much anything an adult can unless it's really heavy (and as an adult I have to be in the mood for heavy), the limiting factor is usually attention span (or very aggressive games) more than difficulty.
My wife and I played Parks with Nighfall outdoors for the first time. (In the baxkyard). It's always a rewarding game; but playing outdoors gave it the light it needed. Great review. We are in the process of acquiring the other components. Wildlife has been ordered, and we're trying to track down the others.
@@michaellangan5037 Scythe is at the top spot every year. Sadly we tend to play it less now as all of our friends who love it as much as us have moved away.
Thanks for this great review! Still hesitating to buy Parks though... I'm having a little bit problems with the thematic sense of some game mechanics... You played some solo variants too already? And does the game keeps being interesting enough after lots of plays?
Tbf I reckon it's more thematic than your average euro! We have not played solo since there are two of us unfortunately. We've played a fair few times and haven't got bored at all! That said, I'd recommend the expansions if you're in for a lot of plays.

Parks + Nightfall : the rest is'nt needed at all Wildlife only if parks is the game you play everyday and your absolute favorite Trails is a damn disapointment.
Will have to disagree there! I think the rule changes Wildlife brings are as important as the new year cards in Nightfall, and the new content (aside from the parks) is the most interesting. Why didn't you like Trails? It's not game of the year but surprised you find it disappointing!

Heavy canteen can give you maneuverability! I do love playing with Wildlife and just interacting with everything more. Thanks for watching!

Well said!
My nephew has Parks and an expansion and I still have yet to play this.
Hopefully this summer when I see family again :)
Hope you get to play!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
My favorite game! I played over 50 times.
That is a lot of times. Well done!
I’m big here for all your lovely buyers guides! So much content and I 100% feel the need to have the “complete” experience 😂
Really glad you're enjoying them!
@@BoardOfItReviews Loving watching all your vids. Keep ‘em coming! 😂 Scythe still at the top spot this year?

@@BoardOfItReviews that’s unfortunate. I may have to just got solo autonoma, my circle makes for an inconsistent group! 😂
