Chi Chi demonstrates a universal truth that amateurs the world over do not want to accept: it's all about TALENT. There is nothing in Chi-Chi's life, background, upbringing, or experience that would predict golf greatness. He wasn't born into a golfing family with memberships to all the best clubs, access to the best instruction, nutrition, fitness....etc. He's a man who was born with rare golfing talent. In a Shell golf match in 1964 a 116-lb Chi-Chi hit several drives over 300 yards - all with persimmon drivers and old wound balls! He reached a SIX HUNDRED yard par-5 in two (he was 5 yards short on the fringe)! Elite golf skill is born. It can't be taught. Thanks for the excellent analysis!

I totally agree. People have this mentality that what rhey can do, i can do it too... as if they had a right to obtain it! Then envy kicks in when they realise they cant do the same... its a shit society with a shittier mindset!!!

Totally agree. I've always liked the quote from Chariots of Fire: "You can't put in what God left out."

@DillonMcAuliffe Amazingly accurate assessment of the situation. From my perspective, what amateurs the world over do not want to accept is. Is that they have succumbed to a conformist mind programming agenda, that normalizes convoluted teachings, and this applies to almost all domains of human existence, apparently golf has been included in that agenda. I guess something has determined, we shouldn't even be allowed to enjoy playing golf, (nose to the grind stone you peasants) this something would have us all frustrated and angry and seemingly, trying to rob us of our joy and good vibrations on the golf course and it seems in most areas of human life as well. And you know what, i don't really care if anyone is offended by my perspective of the situation, so there is no need to be triggered and respond, just ignore me. The golf world and the world in general, are suffering massively, from stockholm syndrome (and yes, convoluted thought forms can hold one's mind captive, thus by consequence, will dictate their physical actions in golf or life). And i'm not the only one voicing an opinion on youtube, about this not so obvious agenda, as it relates to the golfing world. They probably also see this same playbook, carried out in the world, in general as well. I guess one has to have the eyes and ears to even perceive it, as a well known spiritual character from the past shared with us. peace love light

Yeah when he was born he came out hitting 350 and putting flawlessly it had nothing to do with working hard and dedication 😅

The thing about Chi Chi is he played like Jones, once the club hits the ground, he begins the swing. I think even quicker than Jones actually thinking about it. Jones waggled a bit. Chi Chi doesn't even waggle. He steps in and in almost one continuous motion he swings. I think that is his secret.

I use to lift weights and play high school and 2 years of college football, then I went into boxing then took up golf and my swing is somewhere between Allen Doyle and Chi Chi, and I was playing pretty good because that's the swing I felt most comfortable to hit greens and fairways, then I changed my swing like Tigers, then DJ's, then Greg Norman, then Jack and everything disintegrated my swing and hurt my back, then just ten days ago at the Range I said to myself hey man just swing the damm club like chi chi the way you use too and a little bit of open face and a flat swing I'm back in the game hitting greens and fairways, but with that swing you gotta come off that right foot with your weight or it's a Fat shot, why do you think I'm here watching chi chi because I got my mojo chi chi swing back.

Is his left foot way open, or is it an optical illusion from the knee bend?
My first impression of his swing in real-time was how compact and low his back swing and follow through was. Opening the front for almost feels like you have no choice but to drive the hips quickly, which may explain the compact swing?
