A 1-1 draw between Slovakia and Romania on Wednesday secured both teams' spots in the Euro 2024 round of 16. Romania topped Group E, while Slovakia advanced as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Slovakia took the lead in the first half with Ondrej Duda's header from Juraj Kucka's cross. Romania equalized with a penalty converted by Razvan Marin, leaving the teams level at halftime.
All four teams ended with four points, but Romania topped the group by scoring more goals than Belgium, who finished as runners-up. Slovakia edged through on goal difference, while Ukraine, with the worst goal difference, was eliminated.
Romania will face either Slovenia or the Netherlands in the round of 16.
