    GTR Lighting's LED Resistor kit is used to trick the vehicle into thinking the low drawing LED bulb is a stock bulb. When installing the GTR Lighting LED resistor kit make sure to install it on to metal. DO NOT attach the resistors to plastic or rubber. The resistors can reach a temperature of up to 240 degrees.

    Correction at 0:38... The new LED bulbs have a higher resistance than the incandescent bulbs.

    I am installing load resistors for my Toyota Tacoma. It will be the
    front signals so I have to put them in under the hood somewhere. What
    happens if they get wet during the rain?

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  7 років тому +1

      They should be somewhat hidden as they are not specifically designed to be in the weather, but if they get wet from time to time that is fine.

    Is water resistance tolerable? For example, in rainy conditions? I wonder how it is installed behind the lighthouse runs that risk. Or is it harmless?

    you have to have a load resistor on front and rear if you have front and rear led turn signals?

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  8 років тому +2

      Correct, you will need one resistor per LED bulb.

    Will this solve my hyperflash and warning on dashboard when i turn on my blinker for a few minutes.
    My led turn signal has a built in resistor and im using it for my front and rear blinkers.
    Thanks

      Yes it will. Those bulbs work resistorless for a minute or two. That works great for most people, but a resistor will work indefinitely.

    Hello GTR Lighting do you have this tutorial installed on a BMW E46? tail light harness?

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately, we do not have an install video for that vehicle, and that one will be a little harder than most as they have that metal board on the back of the taillight housing instead of the general connectors with wires. It will take some custom wiring to get those working in that application.

    Hi friend, is there a problem if the resistance is placed there? No problem with water in the resistance or in the plastic union?

    • @GTRLighting

      Water will not be an issue with these!

    For vehicles with a flasher relay, it's MUCH easier to just replace it
    with an ADJUSTABLE RATE FLASHER. Maintains lower current draw and
    adjustable rate knob is very nice!

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  7 років тому +2

      Many vehicles do not have the option of replacing the flasher module because it's controlled by the ECM. Most cars and trucks manufactured after 2004 do not have upgradeable flasher modules, therefore, the resistors is the best option. We agree that if you can get an "electronic" or "LED" flasher module for your vehicle that is by far the better option.

    is this the same wiring pattern for LED fog lights, too?

    • @GTRLighting

      Normally you wouldn't need resistors for fog lights, but yes.

    • @GTRLighting

      Every bulb that blinks requires a resisstor.

  • @sarp9099

    I did the same but mine didn't work. I am sure the wiring I made has no mistake. When I first start the car, there is error code and when I blink the signals, the first 3 blink is fast (hyperflash) then it blinks normal. After using both signals, the error code is gone. Turning the engine off and starting again, the whole process repeats. How can I solve it?

    Quand je mets les résistances dans les phares, est-ce que la température du moteur les affecte ?

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  Рік тому

      No, the engine temperature will not affect anything. The resistors themselves get really hot so avoid mounting them on plastic.

    I have a '07 Jeep Grand Cherokee. One bulb is used for the tail light, brake light & turn signal. I installed a resistor on the correct wires (negative & turn signal). The tail, brake & turn all worked with the stock bulb (3157). I replaced it with a LED bulb (3157). The brake light & turn signal worked but the tail did not. I reinserted the LED bulb the opposite way and then only the tail worked. Hmmm? Any ideas/suggestions? Thank you!

    • @GTRLighting
      @GTRLighting  6 років тому

      You need a "C/K compatible" bulb like the GTR Lighting Carbide Series bulb here:
      gtrlighting.com/gtr-lighting-carbide-series-3156-3157-led-bulbs-c-k-compatible/
      The problem that you're running into is caused by using a bulb not designed for the circuit your Jeep uses. These LED bulbs in the link above work with your type of tail light circuit.

      For an H7, you can use an H4 harness and eliminate one of the tabs!
