I praise my Lord Jesus today for his wonderful care of me. I praise Him, and I thank Him. This hymn is great, expresses all that I love about my precious Saviour. Thank You that it is still on YOU Tube and I can sing along with the words. Thanks again.
My mother was a choir director for that crusade, I think. It’s moving when a congregation can hear itself singing, like this, above the sound of any instruments. It’s also meaningful to sing songs like this that meant something to you, and to your parents, and to your grandparents alike - not just new songs. And a pleasure to sing songs with such easily rememberable and reproducible melody-lines and lyrics.
It was wonderful to hear this hymn, so irretrievably linked with the Scotfish Festival Male Voice Choir, and their thick accents, sung with such perfect control and diction in our wonderful Australian accent. The recordings that survive of these wonderful hymns, sung by the Billy Graham choirs, are probably the best that they will ever be heard. Certainly no "Christian" music that he's been composed and/or performed in the following years, can hold a candle to this Spirit-annointed singing of the old hymns of The Faith.
