Wish this band would get their act together and do a tour to Australia - they won't be disappointed. Paddy pubs in Sydney are one thing - but my argument is that Paddy Pub + Gaelic Storm and its fantastic songs + Paddy Audience & me + never-ending flow of Irish booze = A fucking good time that old Johnny Tarr would jump out of his concrete grave to be a part of. Im a full blooded Aussie and people swear I have to be part Irish because I LOVE these songs
Man..I wish more people in the states listened to this type of music... Those tunes are awesome and sorta relaxing, but no-one ever knows who the hell I'm talking about when I mention them XD
Just saw them tonight at the Birchmere. great show as always, they played Johnny Tarr but sadly did not get to this. Just as good as the first if you ask me
One hilarious thing about Johnny Tarr is that indeed dehydration is the main issue with alcohol poisoning. Liver damage is a long-term issue, as is weight-gain and other things, but afaik, it's actually dying of thirst. ...for water.
It's good but one fatal error. They said myself and the five cork women buried johnny tarr. But in the original song he claimed he never knew johnny. He only heard it from a man who knows a fella who said it's true
And even if you saw it yourself, you wouldn't believe it, But I wouldn't trust a person like me, if i were you. Sure, I wasn't there but I swear i have an alibi, I heard it from a man who knows a fella who says it's true! ^Johnny Tarr "I wasn't there" part.
In my opinion, that's not what truly makes it Irish. It's an *upbeat*, funny song about burying a man that died because he _couldn't get enough booze_ to satisfy his "t'irst." THAT is what makes it Irish!
This song is meant to be kind of a sequel to another Gaelic Storm song called just Johnny Tarr. The context of the whole story makes both songs much funnier.
this is one of my favorite Irish/Celtic bands!!! i love Gaelic Storm!! i got to see them in person and they were AMAZING!!!
And so the strange tale ends...wonderful song really. May Johnny Tarr bless us all with great drink.
"...these so much booze inside his veins he'll blow this place to hell" i love that part. thanks for the post.
I actually thought that line would've been better coming from someone in a church setting rather than the morgue, but hey, hindsight...
Great song. I want to go to Irish heaven. Maybe I'll meet Johnny and we'll have 2 pints of the Johnny Jump Up.
When someone asks me how my day was, I'm telling them about it to the tune of this song.
The intro is just unbelievable ! as is the rest but my God the beginning is great!

Heh, heh, I just had the Rumjack's song An Irish Pub running through my head while I was reading your comment.

One of their best, just plain fun.
aye, poor man died a t'irst.

Johnny Tarr
Requiescat In Pace
You will be greatly missed
Why are these songs so addicting to listen to? The answer? Because they are awesome!!!!!!!!
It's good but one fatal error. They said myself and the five cork women buried johnny tarr. But in the original song he claimed he never knew johnny. He only heard it from a man who knows a fella who said it's true
It could be from the perspective of another person.
Agreed. It could be that "fella" who said it was true.
Or maybe it is him, and in the first song he lied about not knowing johnny.
And even if you saw it yourself, you wouldn't believe it,
But I wouldn't trust a person like me, if i were you.
Sure, I wasn't there but I swear i have an alibi,

^Johnny Tarr "I wasn't there" part.
I heard that Johnny tar was a true story bun this wasn't so that might explain something
it's already posted. And it has a diffrent feel to it, both are funny and entertaining to the extreme.
I feel exactly the same way.. I mention Gaelic Storm or any Irish music I get a look like a have three heads
thee song of my summer :D!!!
Johnny Tarr is a character in another one of their songs. if you look up the song it's pretty funny it's just called "Johnny Tarr"
Johnny Tarr got a sequel song.
A wake; lots of drinking and praising feats done by him, or other if they are intoxicated enough to mix up lives
You should put up Johnny Tarr since this is a sequel to it.
This is some real irish music here. A song about a dead friend and massive amounts of booze
In my opinion, that's not what truly makes it Irish. It's an *upbeat*, funny song about burying a man that died because he _couldn't get enough booze_ to satisfy his "t'irst." THAT is what makes it Irish!
I am not Irish whatsoever ! But I know a great band when I hear one.
So who is drinking to this song
Just me ? I’m 20

This song is meant to be kind of a sequel to another Gaelic Storm song called just Johnny Tarr. The context of the whole story makes both songs much funnier.
