Tumbbad is one of the finest movies to have come out of India in the last 10-20 years. It's an amazing feat that the makers pulled off a near perfect Horror, fantasy movie in a land like India where the genre is often overlooked. That too with a limited budget.

I didn't expected this , in india this movie barely got any awards coz it's a low budget movie and no big actor was in it . One of the best movies i saw . Bollywood don't appreciate art they only promote their movie and belive me this is the only Bollywood which came close to american horror classics with good story line and no unnecessary jumpscare with beautiful cinematography . As an Indian i never expected you to highlight this hidden gem thanks man 👍🙂

This is India's problem, they never support art films and independent cinema.
they just watch their stupid masala movies
I am not a fan of RRR at all, that movie might be new to foreigners but for me it was same repetitive and predictable movie which I have seen many times before in Indian cinema
Just like Americans are tired of the repetitive storyline of American super hero movies and their self aware and chicky characters, I am also tired of the same, predictable storyline and these demi gods type characters of Indian MASALA movies
but one advantage of success of RRR It is that the audience outside came to know about Indian cinema, so now they will also watch and support underrated films like tumbaad.

But back then ( before it was released), no one helped to make this movie, everyone rejected it, saying stupid shit like "It's a drama horror movie, not commercial type" and what not. and the makers really tried their best to produce this movie (6 years in making) by itself. The main Actor Sohum Shah and some of his friends make this movie possible to made. and God! It was worth it. By far the best Indian horror movie of this Decade. Thank you so much to put this here man, i loved every single shot of this movie. 🔥

An excellent film all around; What a masterful horror piece.
Also, everyone else says it, but it really must be emphasized. What an incredible decision it was to bring Jesper Kyd to score it!

I found this channel out by searching for videos on the beauty of Cowboy Bebop, and I liked that video very much. Even the song used in that video was my favorite musing from the Bebop soundtrack. I decided to check the channel's latest vid and found out that it was based on Tumbbad, I immediately felt chills in my spine, I love Tumbbad and it probably one of the best horror films. I really appreciate this channel spreading the beauty of epic cinematography. I feel like I can relate to this channel on multiple levels. Keep on doing the great work dude, you deserve more subs.

On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.

It took 6 years to make this movie, ive heard a instance where creator waited a whole year just for the monsoon season, cuz they didn't get a desired shot of rain previous time.
Other reason of taking such long time is the budget , this is a independent movie, its a dream project for dir and lead actor, so they sell some of there properties after that also they're lacking in budget, so the actor would work in other flims and bring his salary for the shot, and you can see the effort the creator have putted in the movie.
It was a profitable business but didn't make the money it deserved, but now, it is a cult classic in India.
