I was born in kerala, as usual job beginning ended up in Bangalore 20 years ago. Early days with limited income surviving in a metro DREAM city was difficult, same time one kannada family gave me shelter not for free, but the rent was equal to free comparatively. They considered me as their child and played the role of parents for years, Uncle was Alzheimer's patient though he used to recognize me and used to call maga.. That was really amazing for everyone. I got care from them as my parents. Those things are rare in rarest. I am sure that will not get anywhere. Kannadigas are give respect for relationship and truly love from the bottom of their heart. Now, I proudly say I am a Kannadiga, friends used to teases me "Veera Kannadiga"" yes I am very much proud.. IF I HAVE A REBIRTH IT SHOULD BE IN SOIL OF KARNATAKA.. LOVE YOU ALL!!❤️❤️❤️

Im Garhwali from uttarakhand. In our villages also we do bhoot puja where we invoke devi devta at night in our village puja. And devtas dance just like shown in the movie. The culture is same, language and place may be different but its the same sanatan roots. We call it jagar, the song to call the deities. We also have a devta or devi to protect the village which is known as gram devta. Our gram devi is gaura devi which is manifestation of ma shakti. And there is also bhairav which assists her. We also have a kul devta which protects the kul. My kuldevta is kalyaveer.
Even we have Gram devate, for Bengaluru it is "Annamma Devi" Every child living in Bengaluru will be taken to her temple to seek Her Blessings irrespective whether they r Bengalurians, South Indians or North Indians. Sometimes I have even Muslim children brought there for Her Blessings..

Hello North Indian thank you for appreciating Kannada culture, but you are so careless and ignorant about your North Indian culture ( if at all exists such a country called North India), This director shown his culture to all of us , he behaved so responsibly, but we are ignorant about our region culture, we are not putting any efforts to portray our culture, simply waiting for someone to show
@@dandalasuman You're correct. We have failed to celebrate and showcase our beautiful culture because we in North India are defeated people. We lived under a foreign oppressive rule for 800 years and never got a chance to revive our culture unlike South Indians who had great emperors like Vijayanagara and Marathas who revived Hinduism. But still I largely agree with you that there's failure in all of us about our culture. It's not that our culture is inferior or less appealing but we're not paying attention to it. For example, the culture of Ramlila is very very popular in entire North India but it has hardly been showcased in any film with that much beauty and detail.

Kantara is not kannada or Tamil you fool . If you understood this you wouldn't be writi something so banal
Being a keralite, I must say I was out of words to see that such a master class art form, rituals and traditions have been in existence in my neighbouring state Karnataka. In Kerala, I'm used to watching different cultural dances such as Katha Kali, Theyyam, Chaakyar koothu, Ottam Thullal etc. which are prelevant since decades and still displayed during temple festivals across the state. The way the movie portrays the beauty of bhootha kola dance is simply majestic, Hats off to Rishabh Shetty for giving birth to this great film and showcasing how mesmerizing and divine our indian cultures are. I hope with this movie, more people especially from young generation learn more about and are inclined towards the old culture and bring it's popularity back
Isn't this Theyyam itself???
today is the day theyyam season starts in kerala

For a few people who are misinformed, this isn't Kannadiga culture. It is Tuluvas from dakshina kannada (Kundapura, Udupi, Mangalore). Don't be misinformed. Kannadigas have sidelined us forever and are now trying to take credit lol
Once ilayaraja said in music concert. Nadhaswaram is Lord Shiva asset no matter how many instruments exist. But nadhaswaram will remain ultimate of all. Thanks to music team kantara.

@@nitin1947 Total incorrect. When they made this movie, it was meant for Kannada consumption. Because this culture is very popular in the Dakshina Karnataka. They did not make tis movie with intention of money making across the country.
