I don't know where you received all your cooking knowledge, but you are amazing. From someone who absolutely hates to cook, you make cooking look so effortless. All the while carrying a baby on your frontside and having 6 other children all around. I only have to cook for 2 and I can't seem to muster up the desire to do so. I get inspired from watching you cook. I admire how you find ways to utilize cost saving measures to feed your family. You never seem to be stressed out about cooking. Thank you for sharing your day and cooking skills!!

I didn’t learn to really cook until I was on my own because I wasn’t allowed to venture in the kitchen. Something that helped me was thinking about things I’ve always wanted to learn to cook from scratch (because I had a very tight budget) and I learned how to make something new each week and would have leftovers to last me. I now love cooking and baking.

@@vanessaroseobrien Same here. I am self taught, learning a lot from UA-cam folks like Lisa.
I only have 2 others to cook for, but they are very finicky. Can't seem to please them, especially when they like completely different foods....

Yes.... Me too!!! Cooking was never my favorite thing...esp now St age 73..haha!!! But I had 3 kids and did enjoy making food they liked at the time!!!! Now these videos are so amazing and this young woman with 7 kiddos to boot...well, she is extremely gifted and such a patient gal!! I lived seeing the kids in the living room with a fort and total caos because it's more important to let them play, have safe fun then worry if the house gets “messy”!!!! Then after they will learn how to clean it up again!!! Ha!!! So fun to watch,, thank you!!! God be with you all!!!!

This video brought back so many great memories! My mom used to add brown sugar and ketchup to the top of her meatloaf (so yummy!) and my grandmother would make her broth from chicken feet too!! It made me smile when you talked about the venison bc my husband is a hunter and I always have an abundance of venison. It’s soo delish, healthy, natural, good for the planet and free! I probably thank God every day for the blessing of it. I have been obsessed with your soups lately, it’s been very cold here, and will definitely be making the zuppa next week for sure! Thanks Lisa! Loved seeing the babe too! 🥰😍

Everything looked so delicious. I love to do a whole chicken with mashed potatoes one night, and then I repurpose the leftovers the next night. I add sour cream, bacon, green onion, and cheese to the mashed potatoes and bake it. I make the chicken into chicken patties with some eggs, mayo, cheese, dill, flour, lemon pepper, etc. Cover them with breadcrumbs and brown them in my cast iron skillet. My family loves this meal!

Thanks Lisa, I hope you are doing well and feeling good. Your spirit and smile seriously makes my day!! Ok beautiful lady, what is it about such peace that comes from a baby room. I was recently visiting a friend and her baby room felt so calm, cozy, quiet and peaceful. I rocked the baby, fed the baby the bottle and didn't want to leave the special space. Now Lisa you know what I am talking about because you even put the word cozy in your title. I can't wait to hear from you. 🐥 🍼 🐕🐖🐄🐑🐝🦋🌞

Venison is nice. I was gifted some from a friend of mine who hunts and I made a venison bourguignon from it with Julia Childs recipe. It was seriously the best thing I ever made. All you have to do is soak the meat in vinegar and water to deal with the gamey taste. So good. I like the idea of chicken feet for the broth. Smart.

Yes! I've used chicken feet in my bone broth too! Makes it so good. Also, I'm 44 and grew up on venison. Both my parents hunted and they always got deer. They both went out the first day this past year, my Mom at 74 and my Dad at 82. They didn't see anything and their hunting days have slowed down a bit but yeah I grew up on deer meat! Thanks for bringing us along on these delicious meals!!

We love to make loaded omelets for dinner in the winter especially for last minute meals. They are fast, easy, versatile, one pan and cheap. If I have left over potatoes from fries that I have made the day before, I'll chop them up and throw them in the mix to make it more of a hash.

You are one amazing woman and mom. I love your videos of farming, homemaking and cooking. I raised two boys and I know how much kids can eat so accolades to you for making the most of what nature offers and keeping your family healthy and fed. My broth is much simpler as I use only bones and scraps from a rotisserie chicken from Costco and add spices and vegetables, but homemade is so much tastier and cheaper. You have a beautiful family. In many Asian and European cultures, the traditional way of making broth is to remove the scum (not sure if this is the correct name - the dirty foam from raw bones). When my grandma taught me to make broth, she said that if there is one thing you should know about cooking, it is this. Instant pots are convenient but it's good to consider the traditional methods as they serve a purpose - you remove the stuff you don't really want to eat. It looks disgusting but it's also satisfying to "clean up" your broth.
Anyways, great that you use so many parts of the animal. In my country, we eat chicken legs as a cold jelly with apple cider vinnegar and cooked vegetables. Sounds disgusting to some people but I love it with a piece of sourdough bread.

My daughter has a 14 quart pressure pot and she bought me a 12 quart for Christmas……it’s so nice to make more broth then a 8 quart allowed at one time….with just two of us I freeze the broth in a freezer bag inserted in a square pan then after it’s frozen I vac seal it in a vac bag so as to limit freezer burn and lengthening the time it will be good….
I’ve been using my wood stove for making soups, sauces and simmering meat…saves on electricity…..also enables two meals cooked at one time when I’m making another meal in the pressure pot.
You use all those iron skillets, have you tried a iron griddle that sets on two burners…..so easy to make lots of eggs or pancakes on then the skillets…..great for pizza bagels also.

Chicken feet broth is great for people who suffer auto-immune illnesses! It's also great for skin, hair and nails. Sadly, I don't have a source near me. So glad you're raising your kids instead of the TV (other devices) or daycare. What a blessing. It sure makes a difference in so many ways, but especially for them.

I always add chicken feet when I make chicken broth. I ask for them specifically when I order whole organic chicken. Not grossed out at all, although I wouldn't like to eat them as is.

We’re in the Summer in Queensland, Australia. I love making homemade pizzas, chicken Schnitzel with salad and home made chips and anything with pasta. We kinda eat similar things all year round as it really doesn’t get very cold here. More soups and stews in our very mild winter. Loads of love ❤️

I learned about adding chicken feet and a few teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to chicken bone broth from Mary’s Nest. Been doing this for a while now and what a difference!!

I love recipes that use ingredients that many overlook. Soup is an amazingly easy and healthy way to add lots of vegetables and protein to your diet. I don't care for ketchup so I always use barbecue sauce in meatloaf. It gives a lovely flavor. Happy New Year to your sweet family.

Every week a make a big pot of soup, we usually get about 2-3 family meals out of it (there are only 4 of us) and anything left becomes work lunches for my husband. We rotate through chicken and rice soup, chicken chili, and tortilla soup. I'm considering adding in other soups to change it up, but these are our favorites. We've also been loving buckwheat pancakes with Apple syrup or pumpkin pancakes with a maple cinnamon yogurt drizzle.

You should ask them to save you some cleaned heads for broth because the collagen and vit/min content of heads is really high, and they make the most amazing tasting broth!

My faves are the typical roast and potatoes and carrots, regular (gr meat) or black bean (sub for gr beef) chili, and apple butternut squash soup. Hubby & I found a beautiful maple garlic chicken in a neighborhood magazine that we LOVE! I just truly love your channel and love all of your homemaking, cooking, child rearing/educating and your heart for your home and for other women keeping the home. I have felt “less than” at times being a stay at home mom (my daughters are 29 and 22 and my son is 15) because we live in such a career oriented society where women have to achieve and excel in the business world. I worked in insurance and law for 21 years and now I am a music minister and piano teacher. I love being at home and you have reignited and re-energized my heart for my family and home. There’s nothing like orderly chaos, made from scratch meals, full bellies and smiles. Thank you for what you do for women everywhere!

In my country (Brazil) we also use the feet! And this might surprise you, but we also use cow's intestines (we clean it VERY well, boil it in hot water, make a salt bath, hot water again and so on and so forth until it is 100% clean) and tongue too!
Lovee your videos lisa! I have been watching you since daniel was at theo's place, wrapped on you!
