Hey man I’ve been living there for 7 years in a 12.5 ft by 7.5 cabin I still have no water, septic, I have no mail delivery so in a nutshell I have to go to the bathroom outside. Bring in water every couple of days and for the 1st 3 years I used to heat the cabin I live in with candles. It’s far from easy everyday life. BTW it doesn’t suck to open up the cabin door walk in and turn on the lights!!! If it’s solar or elec living without it and building is very tough!! Let me guess you probably live in a house or apt!!
I live at the very top of the mountain. There is no way to go down 48 inches because there is not 48 inches of soil!! Mountains are rock not dirt. I have a covering on hundreds of yrs. of decaying leaves, spruce neddles and micro roots. twisted and locked together bout 8 inches. a couple of inches of soil and then you hit rock.
👍. Love the Adirondacks’
Very cool, but you have electricity, so you can't really call it off grid
