This was the hypest grand finals I have seen in a while! There is really no denying Punk's skill now I think he silenced his haters for the moment lol
Being there was nuts. I came over just for this set from Melee, and everybody was losing it during that last round.
Watching him go through this tournament was like a watching someone do a boss speed run. Even Infiltration/Nuckledu didn't dominate in the fashion Punk does. Relentless.
Not nuckledu, but infiltration nash did it before, before nash get nerfed and everyone study his tactics. Now punk karin will be notice by all pro, we will see if he can be consistent to dominate
Raiden Kalisz It's more about the way he plays. He seems to always be pushing you into the corner and never lets up. Dude is aggressive as hell and has no fear, which is perfect for this game.
People who think a match like this is boring just plain don't like Street Fighter.

Hitani should have used his V Resersal more. He was getting stunned nearly every round.
Extremely clean play by Punk, though. So glad to see footsies and neutral are still viable in this game at least with one character.

No doubt, but Necalli also has legit pressure after the knock down and the ability to gain V gague quickly. Couple that with a V Resersal that knocks down and Hitani could have used it once or twice a round and still be able to pop trigger toward the end. At the very least he would not have gotten stunned nearly every single round.
mohammed hgf It's a double edged sword. Using V skill gives Neccali a slight bump in damage and better frame advantage on some moves but, his V reversal gived his opponent grey health dmg and stops the pressure. It's worth using vs a glass cannon like Karin, Akuma, and Cammy. Also, many people neglect the Karin matchup and thus dont know how to punish her which Punk exposed in his many victories this past weekend. I hope Punk keeps this up, his looking amazing!

I almost wish he laid low until Evo. Now EVERYONE is going to be studying the absolute hell out of him and his Karin. Even still, he could definitely take Evo.
NuckleDu have a chance too, he dominated the states for a long period. But yeah atm Punk is a beast

I dislike SFV but you gotta give to the top players, they're making the game look very exciting. Punk's consistency is reminiscent, at least for me, of Infiltration's dominance a couple of years back. Kudos to the top 8 players. A very good showing and consummate display of high level play by all involved. Wow!

Winning 2 premiers in a row (from loser side no less). Sounds like something Daigo or Xian would had done in SF4. The lack of tea-bagging is good to see too. Keeping the game clean is the way to go if you asked me.
