Came out incredible. Pulling out the earth side of the forms must have been a pain. We’re thinking of doing a 2 inch thick wall for a large shower but using cement board with Redkote on the backside to seal from 2x4 wall
Thank You. Yes it was not fun at all..but it all worked out in the end. If cement board and redkote works for tile then should be no different for 2" of cement. Expect a lot of cracks tho!
A beautiful piece of work, probable best I've seen so far. Did you use any release agent on the boards? How long did you wait before stripping? Once stripped off, would the boards be in a such condition that they could potentially be reused?
Thank you for the nice words! Yes we did use a release agent on the form boards, stripped them next day but you could wait an extra day if you'd like. You would be able to reuse the form boards 👍.
Hey looks like your in the bay area. I may be looking at building a small house with concrete in near future. Any interest in helping? Drop your contact info

What was involved in sandblasting your boards? Did it take alot of time? I have heard this is important process to do to get the right look...
Took about 4 hours for this project. You'll need to rent a commercial sandblaster, a diy blaster won't cut it.
Nice job one question how far apart you place the ties for a 8’x22’ wall
I think our plans called for every 2 ft
@@Samibz thanks
Hi, did you apply a sealer or anything to make the the concrete darker and bring out the grain effect ?
No we didn't, just plain concrete
Are those 12” Simpson wall ties?
It's called Simpson Strong-wall, about 16" wide
