wanted to add a note! when i said 'it strips it down' for simply optimized and some other packs, i didn't mean that as in it removes features, i meant this as in it is just completely barebones! i also wanted to add that i brought adrenaline up to date so i could use sodium extra, so it may yield better performance in the base pack. i also want to reiterate what was used in testing! -Same seed -Same lag machine, an 8x19 armor stand, piston and observer machine -Same coordinates but its down to your system individually so make sure you test them for yourself!
> i also wanted to add that i brought adrenaline up to date so i could use sodium extra i've started pushing updates to Adrenaline (and Additive) again so now it should be all up to date and good, along with some nice little improvements i made to the config files :) it was a bit out of date for a while because i was really busy but i'll be able to start updating often now
@@intergrav omg hi! no worries, im a full time student with a job and i do these videos too, so i of all folks understand how busy life gets. no pressure to deliver, your modpack did amazingly well either way! super happy to see it updated regardless
I made a modpack called "Optimalisation". From my own testing its faster than all of these modpacks by a good margin, hope you try it out! 👋 good video
Great video, also smart thinking by using a stress test. Just loading in a world and looking at the performance will not actually show the performance when you are using your game to the max. One criticism, you went on of a bit of a tangent how some client side mods could be bannable on some public serves. I would have liked it to be either on the beginning of the video or the end, just keeping the packs coming rapid fire. Awesome video. I would like to see a comparison between 2 identical modpacks, but one for forge and one for fabric, with the same stress test, to see how fabric fairs comapred to it.
thank you! i had to do the stress test after wandering and playing survival for five minutes to gauge what range i was sitting at when the world was stabilized and loaded in, then see what it could look like in worse conditions. also yeah haha usually i script my talking videos, but since that makes them take significantly longer i wanted to try avoiding that with this one. there are some spots where i ramble/its disorganized as a result, but itll improve with time! thats a great idea, the fabric vs forge thing is something ive been contemplating. i think ill do a second part of this video reviewing the top five optimization packs for forge first, then maybe throw the two best performing packs against each other
@@Cosmxnautic Thanks so much for replaying. For some time now UA-cam has been recommending some up-and-coming people like you, so I thought some appreciation and criticism was in order. I like ur voice and you said alot so i guess its detailed i feel like you are going to gain much more subs so i'm joining also can yyou tell me what you were using when viewing modpacks
Thanks for the video ! As an old player who is getting back into Minecraft , I was left very confused by the Vanilla minecraft performance and optifine not helping - well I get that I have a potato but come on don't make me feel poor lol ;p . Recently downloaded Prism Launcher and saw lots of modpacks for fps boost on modrinth so wanted to find out what's good for me .
Yeah! It was puzzling for me at first when I was coming from PVP and old modpacks (1.12.2, etc) and Optifine was so not helping. That’s a big part of why I like doing these videos - not only is it interesting to me, but i get a couple comments like this from players that were in the same position I was ❤️
Would have liked to see all of them compared at the end like how benchmarks typically do. Going back through the whole video and writing down each one just for comparison was a bit tedious.
I wanted to avoid doing this because comparing them directly is difficult to do. I tried recreating the exact circumstances by using the same seed, version, settings, coordinates and lag machine, but there will always be slight variations that can’t be accounted for. Will do for my Forge video though, I see what you mean
im not 100% sure which one i used during RLCraft but it was either MakeUp Ultra Fast by XavierFST or Sildur's Vibrant Shaders by SildurFX! i also really like Complementary Unbound lately, and also Pastel Shaders by ElocinDev
i wanted to ask if u use such mods while playing on modpacks? and what do u use? i personally prefer fabric tho but sadly most modpacks are fabric and some are laggy so i wanted to know what to use to make it less laggy?
So I find that with Forge, oftentimes it can just be disabling some of the unnecessary cosmetic mods, like Better Foliage or FancyMenu. For some reason I’ve also noticed some very extreme frame drops when I’m in the F3 menu, so being in that menu may make it seem worse than it is. I’m currently researching performance mods and packs for Forge for a video similar to this one, so I don’t have a lot to share yet about specific mods that will help. To my knowledge, Rubidium and Rubidium Extra are good ones to try, but always test in a duplicated profile beforehand to make sure they don’t conflict with existing mods/cause further issues
Actually it’s not a bad idea to use these as a base. I tend to do so when I make a modpack I need for recording/private/don’t plan to make public. It’s not okay if you’re planning to release it on CurseForge though 👍
I used to go at 200-210 fps with the fabulously modpack, but after deleting and reinstalling everything (also the modpack) it didn't go over 30 but I had everything in the modpack, why does that happen? saludos desde argentina/greetings from argenitna
Could be the modpack’s most recent update doesn’t work well with your computer. You could try installing an older version, like the one you were on originally, and see if that works instead. Optimizations won’t work the same for every system due to the amount of varying circumstances If you updated to a different version of Windows that could also be the issue
Modrinth! I did a Forge one on CurseForge as well, but not a fabric one on CurseForge and vice versa, which is something I’ve been contemplating doing in the future

If i want to make my own pack can i use one of these as a base or will that cause problems and incompatabilities?

Drop a timestamp for what you mean and I’ll tell you but I genuinely don’t know what you mean here 😭
Simply Optimized gets me like 30% more fps than all of the other modpacks. I don't know why but my computer just runs better with Simplly Optimized.
That’s why I always say best to test with all of them! I couldn’t explain why either but I’m glad you tried and found out
streaming on mondays is simply illegal
